Card Boxes That Do the Selling
The boxes in this range are mostly folding cartons: a single sheet of smooth card that is printed, cut, creased and glued, then delivered flat. Card is far lighter than corrugated and takes very fine detail, so brand names, small print, ingredients and barcodes all stay sharp. It is the material you see on most shop shelves for exactly that reason.
Folding cartons are not built to post on their own. They are made to sit on a shelf, hang on a peg or travel inside an outer mailer. In return they are economical, quick to pack and printable on every face.
Choosing a Style
Product boxes and tuck end boxes are the everyday choice for a single item such as a bottle, jar, tube or small device. A straight tuck keeps the front panel clean; a crash-lock base takes heavier products. Retail boxes cover display styles, including counter trays that open into a mini display.
Window boxes add a die-cut window so the product is seen without opening, which suits food treats, soaps and toys. Pillow boxes have curved ends and suit light items such as favours, samples and jewellery.
White or Kraft Card
White card gives the brightest colour and the best detail. Kraft card is brown and matt, which suits natural and handmade products, and looks best with one or two dark inks. Both can carry finishes: gloss lamination for colour that pops under shop lights, matt or soft touch for a quieter look, and spot UV or foil on the logo.
If your product is heavier than a card box can handle, the same styles can be made in E flute corrugated. Compare the options in our guide to board and card types.
Panels and Details
Think about which panel faces the buyer, where the barcode will go, and whether the box needs a hang tab, a window or an insert. Every proof is laid out flat so you can check the position of every element before anything is printed.
Planning a Range of Variants
Most shelf products come in more than one version: scents, flavours, strengths or sizes. Folding cartons handle this well because several designs can share one cutter. Keep the structure, logo and layout fixed and change only a colour band or the variant name, and a whole range reads as one brand on the shelf while each version is easy to pick out.
List each variant on your request with its quantity. The custom quote prices them together and the proof shows every design, so you approve the set in one go. Our straight and reverse tuck end cartons are the usual base for a variant range.
What Shop Buyers Look For
Shops and stockists often check the same few things before they list a product. The barcode must scan, so keep it dark on a light background and away from folds. The product name and size should read from the front panel at arm's length. Weight, ingredients or contents, and your business address belong on a side or back panel in a readable size.
If the product hangs on a peg, add a hang tab with a euro slot. If it sits on a counter, a printed counter display box holds several units in one footprint.
Send any retailer guidelines you have with your artwork and we lay the panels out to match.

Retail and Product Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering retail and product boxes.
Which style suits a bottle?
A tuck end box with a card insert is the usual choice. A crash-lock base helps for heavier bottles.
Can retail and product boxes be posted?
Card boxes should travel inside an outer box. E flute versions can post on their own.
Can you print barcodes and ingredients?
Yes. Card holds small text and barcodes sharply.
Can I add a window to any style?
Most styles can take a die-cut window, with or without clear film.
Do boxes arrive glued?
Yes. Folding cartons are glued on the side seam and delivered flat.
Can I have a hang tab?
Yes. A hang tab with a euro slot can be added to most card boxes.
Can I print different variants?
Yes. Several designs can share one size, each shown on the proof.
Which finish suits shop lighting?
Gloss lamination makes colour brighter; matt and soft touch look more understated.
Can I order a short run for a new product?
Yes. Minimums are set per job, so a short first run for a product launch or a market test is fine, and the same cutter is kept for reorders.
How quickly can I get them?
4–7 working days for production after proof approval, then 2–3 working days for free tracked UK mainland delivery.
