Print Is Where the Box Becomes Yours
The same plain mailer can look like a parcel from anyone or like it could only have come from you. The difference is print. We print custom boxes from a single spot colour up to full colour, on corrugated, folding carton and the paper that wraps rigid boxes, so the artwork is never limited by the box style you choose.
Full colour suits photographs, gradients and patterns. One or two colours suit logos and line work, and they look especially good on kraft board, where the brown shows through. Printing the inside as well as the outside gives the customer a second surprise when the lid opens, and it is a cheap way to make a plain-outside box feel special.

Getting Artwork Right

Preparing Print-Ready Artwork
Good artwork makes the proof quicker and the result sharper. If you or your designer are setting up files, these are the points we check first:
- Use the flat layout (dieline) we send with the proof, at full size.
- Set colours in CMYK, or give Pantone references for spot colours.
- Keep text and logos at least 3 mm inside fold and cut lines.
- Extend background colour 3 mm beyond the cut line as bleed.
- Supply photos at 300 dpi at the size they print, and outline fonts.

Colour on Different Boards
The same artwork looks different depending on the board under it. A rough guide:

Screen colours are brighter than ink on board. If an exact brand colour matters, give us the Pantone reference so it can be printed as a spot colour.
Inside Print and Panels
Printing the inside of a box turns the opening into part of the design. A pattern, a short message or a thank-you inside the lid costs less than many people expect, because the board is already going through the press. On mailers it is often the detail customers photograph.
Think about each panel separately. The lid carries the brand, the front carries the product name, and side or base panels can hold contact details, care notes or a barcode. Our logo printed boxes in 1 or 2 colours suit brands that want a simpler first run.

Colour Options
1 colour, 2 colours or full colour. Spot colours can be matched to a Pantone reference on request; full colour is built from four process inks.
Inside and Outside
Print the outside only, the inside only, or both. On corrugated boxes inside print is a separate pass, and the quote shows it as its own line.
Finishes
Matt or gloss lamination over print, soft touch for a velvet feel, and spot UV, foil or embossing on the logo.
Full colour with gloss lamination makes a pattern pop.
Production and Delivery
Production takes 4–7 working days after you approve the free design proof. Full colour inside and outside print adds a pass, so allow for the longer end of that window. Delivery to the UK mainland is free and tracked, and arrives in 2–3 working days once the boxes leave production. The tracking link comes to you by email.
Reprints and Refunds
Check the boxes when they arrive. If any are misprinted or damaged, report it within 10 days with a photo and we reprint or refund the boxes affected. Read the full returns and reprints policy.

What file should I send for printing?
A PDF or AI file with fonts outlined and images at 300 dpi is ideal. A high-resolution PNG or JPG of your logo also works to start the free design proof.
Can printed boxes match my brand colour exactly?
We can print spot colours to a Pantone reference on request. Full colour print is very close for most colours, and the design proof shows how it will look.
Can full colour print go on kraft board?
Yes. Kraft suits 1 or 2 colour print in darker inks. Light colours and white do not show well on brown board, so we may suggest white board for those designs.
Is inside print expensive?
It adds a print pass, so it costs more than outside only, but less than most people expect. The custom quote shows inside print as a separate line.
Can I have different designs on different panels?
Yes. Each panel of the box can carry different artwork. The design proof is laid out flat so you can see every panel.
Will you help with my design?
We place your logo or artwork on the box layout and adjust it until you are happy, free of charge. If you need artwork created from scratch, tell us what you have in mind.
What if the print does not match my proof?
Report any misprint within 10 days of delivery with a photo and we reprint or refund the boxes affected.

Which finish protects the print best?
Matt or gloss lamination gives the best scuff protection, which matters for boxes that travel by post.
