Luxury and Gift Boxes

Built, Not Folded

Most boxes in this range are rigid boxes. Instead of folding a printed sheet into shape, we build a shell from thick greyboard and wrap it in paper. The wrap can be printed in full colour or chosen as a solid colour, and the board underneath gives the box its weight and its square, sharp edges. A rigid box does not flex in the hand, and that is a large part of why it feels valuable.

Because they are built, rigid boxes can have features a folding box cannot: hinged lids with hidden magnets, drawers that slide on a ribbon, shoulders that show between lid and base, and fitted platforms that lift the product up to meet the eye.

Which Luxury Style?

A lid and base box is the classic choice and gives a slow, satisfying lift. A magnetic flap box opens like a book and closes with a click, which suits gift sets and clothing. A sleeve box slides a tray from an outer sleeve, ideal for jewellery, chocolates and smaller gifts. Gift boxes cover all of these plus lighter folding versions for events and favours.

Finishes That Make the Difference

Soft touch lamination gives the wrap a velvet feel. Foil presses metallic gold, silver or copper into a logo or a border. Embossing raises a detail so it can be felt, and spot UV adds a gloss highlight over matt. On a rigid box, one carefully chosen finish on the logo often looks better than several at once. Inserts and Presentation

An insert holds each item in place and decides how the product is presented when the lid opens. Card inserts suit lighter sets, foam inserts protect glass and electronics, and wrapped greyboard platforms give the most premium finish. We design the insert and the box together so they fit.

Posting and Storing Rigid Boxes

Rigid boxes are built before they leave production, so they take more space than folding styles. A few hundred lid and base boxes fill a pallet rather than a shelf. If storage is tight, ask about collapsible magnetic boxes, which arrive flat and click into shape with a strip of tape inside.

A wrapped box shows every scuff, so send it inside an outer carton rather than on its own. A plain or one colour corrugated shipping box cut to fit keeps the rigid box square and clean on the way to your customer.

Choosing Paper for the Wrap

The wrap is the paper glued over the greyboard, and it sets the look before any print is added. Printed art paper carries full colour artwork, patterns or photography. Coloured papers, from black and navy to cream and pastel shades, give a solid colour with no print at all, and a foil logo on a coloured paper is one of the simplest premium looks.

Textured papers add feel: linen grain, fine ribs or a leather effect. They suit foil and blind embossing better than full colour print. Ask for the paper you have in mind and we list it on the custom quote with the board thickness.
