Custom Clothing Gift Boxes
Custom clothing gift boxes are shallow, two-piece boxes that hold a neatly folded jumper, shirt or dress in tissue, ready to be handed over or wrapped. We make them for boutiques, fashion brands and online shops that offer gift wrapping, in folding card or rigid board with your logo printed or foiled on the lid.

Why Garments Deserve a Proper Box
A garment folded into a carrier bag looks like shopping. The same garment laid in tissue inside a crisp, branded box looks like a present. That simple difference is why so many boutiques keep a stack of clothing boxes behind the till, and why online fashion brands offer gift boxing as an option at checkout. The box changes what the customer feels before they even see the clothes.
Boxes also look after the garment. A flat box keeps folds sharp, prevents creasing in a bag or a parcel and protects delicate fabrics like silk, cashmere and lace from snagging. For online orders, a rigid or sturdy folding box inside a shipping mailer means the item arrives exactly as it was packed.
A good box gets kept, too. Clothing boxes are reused for storing scarves, knitwear and keepsakes, so your brand stays in the customer's wardrobe long after the gift is opened.
For brands, the box is also a chance to show attention to detail. Customers who receive a jumper beautifully boxed tend to assume the same care went into making it, and that impression carries into repeat orders and recommendations to friends. Shirts sold folded with a collar support suit our shirt boxes with a fitted lid.
Lid and Base, Folding or Rigid
The classic clothing gift box has a separate lid and base, usually shallow, with the lid covering the full depth or just part of it. Folding card versions arrive flat and fold into shape in seconds, which is ideal for shops with limited storage. Rigid versions are made up already, with a heavier, more luxurious feel suited to premium garments and special occasions.
Other options include magnetic flap boxes, which open like a book, and mailer-style boxes that combine a gift presentation with the strength to travel by post.
A useful compromise for busy shops is a folding box with a rigid-look wrap. It arrives flat like a standard card box but uses a heavier board and a wrapped finish on the lid, giving much of the feel of a rigid box while taking a fraction of the storage space.

Sizing Custom Clothing Gift Boxes for Folded Garments
Fold the garment the way you want it presented, with tissue around it, and measure the length, width and height of the folded bundle. Add a little room on each side so it drops in without crushing the folds. A folded shirt or light top typically needs a box around 300 by 230 mm with 50 to 60 mm depth; a chunky jumper may need 80 to 100 mm.
Many shops settle on two or three sizes: a small box for accessories like scarves and ties, a standard box for tops and shirts, and a larger, deeper box for knitwear, dresses and outerwear. Keeping the same design across sizes makes the counter look tidy and builds a consistent brand.
If you also ship the boxes, check how they fit inside your standard mailers so you do not pay to post empty space.
Shops selling baby clothes and accessories often choose a smaller, deeper box, as tiny garments look sweetest rolled or folded in a nest of tissue rather than laid completely flat. Our guide to measuring a folded garment explains how much to allow for tissue.
Materials and Finishes
Folding card boxes use a sturdy boxboard, in white, black, kraft or a coloured board, printed or plain. Rigid boxes use greyboard wrapped in printed or textured paper, which can be smooth, linen-textured or soft to the touch. Black and white boxes with a single foiled logo are timeless; coloured boxes help a brand get noticed on a shelf of neutral packaging.
Foil in gold, silver or copper on the lid is the most popular embellishment for clothing boxes. Embossing or debossing gives a subtle, tactile logo. Matt and soft-touch laminations add a luxurious feel and resist scuffs from handling.
Coloured boards are worth considering if your brand has a signature shade. A box made from board that is coloured all the way through shows no white edges when it is scuffed, which keeps it looking smart even after heavy handling at a busy counter. You can see rigid greyboard and folding card compared in our board guide.
Tissue, Stickers and the Unboxing Moment
Tissue paper is part of the experience. Fold the garment, wrap it in tissue and seal it with a branded sticker before closing the box. Printed tissue with your logo repeated across it adds another layer of brand recognition. A small card tucked on top, with a thank-you note or care instructions, completes the presentation.
Ribbon, either tied around the box or threaded through slots in the lid, turns the box into a gift without the need for wrapping paper. A printed belly band is a quick alternative that can carry a message such as a thank you or the name of a collection.
Inside print on the lid is another lovely touch, revealing a pattern or message when the box is opened. Order printed tissue paper and seal stickers with the boxes so colours match.
Using Gift Boxes in Store and Online
In boutiques, flat-packed folding boxes can be stored under the counter and made up in seconds when a customer asks for a gift. Pre-assembled rigid boxes take more space but are faster at busy times. Keep a small stock of both sizes near the wrapping area so staff are never caught short.
Online shops often offer gift boxing as a paid extra. Show a photo of the boxed garment on your product pages so buyers know what they will receive. For shipping, place the gift box inside a snug outer mailer so the presentation box arrives pristine.
Personal shopping services and stylists also use clothing gift boxes to deliver hand-picked outfits. A set of matching boxes, one per garment, stacked and tied together, makes the delivery feel considered and helps the client keep pieces organised when unpacking.
Fold a Garment, Add Tissue, Then Measure
Clothing boxes are sized from the folded garment with tissue in place, so fold a shirt, jumper or dress the way your staff do, wrap it in tissue and measure the bundle. A shirt box of about 300 x 230 mm with 50 to 60 mm depth covers most tops; knitwear and dresses need more depth, not more footprint. Two or three sizes normally cover a boutique. Then decide between folding card, which stores flat, and rigid board, which feels heavier in the hand and is kept by customers. Boutiques that also post orders usually add a gift mailer box for online orders in the same print so the two channels match.
Send the garment sizes, style, quantities and logo, and a custom quote arrives by email within one working day. The free proof shows the lid, base and logo position, including any inside print. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and boxes arrive by tracked courier to UK mainland addresses. Misprinted or damaged boxes reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded.

Clothing Gift Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering clothing gift boxes.
What size box fits a folded shirt?
A box around 300 by 230 mm with 50 to 60 mm depth fits most folded shirts and light tops with tissue.
Should I choose folding card or rigid?
Folding card boxes are flat-packed and save space. Rigid boxes feel more luxurious and are faster to use but take more storage.
Can you foil my logo on the lid?
Yes. Gold, silver and copper foil are popular for clothing boxes, and emboss or deboss adds a tactile finish.
Can tissue paper and seal stickers be printed to match the clothing box?
Yes. Branded tissue in your colours and a round seal sticker complete the presentation inside the box, and ordering them with the boxes keeps the colours consistent.
Can I add ribbon?
We can cut ribbon slots in the lid, or you can tie ribbon around the box. A printed belly band is another quick option.
Can a folding clothing gift box go in the post on its own?
Not safely; the corners scuff and the lid can lift. Place it inside a snug mailer, or choose a gift mailer box that combines presentation with corrugated strength.
How many sizes should a boutique stock?
Two or three sizes cover most needs: accessories, tops and knitwear or dresses.
Can the inside of a clothing box lid carry a pattern or a care note?
Yes. Inside print reveals a pattern, a message or care instructions when the lid comes off, which suits garments that are gifted.
What do clothing gift boxes cost?
Folding card boxes start from £0.25 each depending on size, board and finish. We send a custom quote by email within one working day.
Can a boutique order fifty boxes each of three sizes?
Yes. Minimums are low and quoted per job, so a small boutique can order a sensible quantity of each size rather than a large run of one.
Do the boxes protect delicate fabrics?
Yes. A flat box keeps folds sharp and prevents silk, cashmere and lace snagging in a bag.
