Custom Pressure Cooker Boxes
Custom pressure cooker boxes have to carry a heavy, awkwardly shaped appliance with a lid, a valve and loose accessories, and still look appealing on a kitchen shop shelf. We print strong corrugated cartons with fitted inserts and carry handles for stovetop cookers and electric multi-cookers alike.

A Heavy Appliance with Fragile Parts
A pressure cooker looks robust, but its weak points are the ones that matter most: the pressure valve, the sealing ring, the locking handle and, on electric models, the control panel and plug. A box that lets the pot shift can bend a handle or crack a display, and a dented rim means a seal that may not close properly.
The weight is the other challenge. A stovetop cooker in stainless steel, or an electric multi-cooker with an inner pot, weighs several kilos. Single wall cartons can bulge or split at the base when lifted, especially if the customer carries the box by one end. Double wall corrugated, or a strong single wall with a reinforced base, is the usual starting point.
Good pressure cooker packaging locks the main body in place, holds the lid separately or securely on top, and gives the small parts their own compartment so they do not rattle against the pot. Smaller kitchen electricals from the same range use the custom appliance boxes with inserts.
Inserts for Pots, Lids and Accessories
Inserts make the difference between a box that arrives with everything in place and one that arrives with a loose valve rolling about the bottom. Corrugated inserts can be die cut to hold the pot by its rim and handles, with a separate tray above for the lid, steam rack and recipe booklet. Pulp and corrugated inserts are compared in the board and card types guide.
Moulded pulp inserts suit electric multi-cookers well, because they can follow the curved body closely and absorb impact at the corners. Folded card dividers are a lighter option for smaller stovetop models.
Common insert layouts include:
- Base cradle that grips the pot below the rim
- Top tray holding the lid upside down over the pot
- Side pocket for the power cord, steam rack and ladle
- Envelope slot for the manual and warranty card
- Corner posts that keep the pot clear of the box walls

Sizing the Carton Correctly
Measure the cooker with the lid fitted and the handles in their transport position, then measure it again with the lid off. Many brands pack the lid inverted inside the pot to save space, which changes the height. Note the longest dimension across the handles, not just the pot diameter.
Add space for the insert walls, usually 10 to 20 mm on each side depending on the insert style, and decide whether accessories sit beside the pot or above it. A box with everything stacked vertically is taller and narrower; side compartments make it wider and lower, which can be better for shelf stability.
If you sell several capacities, such as a small, medium and family-size model, a shared insert design scaled to each size keeps packing consistent on your line. Our guide to measuring a product for a box covers appliances with handles.
Printing for the Kitchen Aisle
Kitchen appliances are often compared side by side on a shelf or in a product listing photo. The main face of the box should show the cooker clearly, state the capacity in large type, and list the functions that matter most for that model. Shoppers also look for the power rating on electric units and hob compatibility on stovetop models, so give those a fixed place on every box.
A white corrugated liner prints bright, accurate product photos, which matter for steel and coloured enamel finishes. Kraft liners look good with bold line drawings and suit brands with a traditional cookware feel. The side panels can show recipes or cooking times, which turns the box into a selling point rather than just a shell.
A matt varnish keeps the print looking clean through warehouse handling. Avoid placing important information on the bottom panel, which gets scuffed when boxes are pushed along shelves. Print coverage on brown and white corrugated is compared in the print and finish options guide.
Handles and Shipping Strength
Built-in hand holds, cut into the side panels, make heavy boxes easier to carry and less likely to be dropped. For retail, a plastic or cord carry handle glued to the top flaps lets customers carry the cooker home without a bag. Both require the board around them to be reinforced so the handle does not tear through.
If you sell online as well as in shops, the retail box often needs an outer shipping carton. Some brands use a single strong printed box that is fit for both, with a plain shipper label area on one side. That saves materials and storage, but it means the print will be seen by couriers and may get marked in transit.
Stacking strength matters in warehouses, where appliance cartons are often piled several high on a pallet. A box that bows under the weight of those above it can crush the insert and stress the cooker inside. Tell us how high your boxes will be stacked and we will choose a board grade with enough compression strength, rather than guessing.
Corner protectors or edge boards are rarely needed for a well-designed carton, but they can help if you ship by pallet to retailers who handle stock roughly.
Stovetop Versus Electric Packaging
Stovetop cookers are dense and simple: the pot, lid and perhaps a steamer basket. The box can be compact, with a straightforward cradle insert. Brands often lean on a classic, durable look in the print, emphasising steel quality and hob compatibility.
Electric multi-cookers have more parts and more fragile surfaces. A display panel, a removable inner pot, a condensation cup and a detachable cord all need their own places. These boxes are larger, and the print usually focuses on functions and programmes, so a well-organised grid of icons on the side panel helps shoppers compare models quickly.
Either way, a printed inside lid with a simple unpacking diagram reduces the risk of a customer throwing away a small part with the insert. Replacement rings and racks sold separately use the small accessory boxes for spares format.
Measure the Cooker With and Without Its Lid
A pressure cooker is two shapes, and the carton has to hold both. Measure the pot alone, then the pot with the lid locked on, then the lid on its own with the valve and gasket, and weigh the whole kit including the inner pot and the accessories. A stovetop model with a long handle needs a carton that is longer than it is wide; an electric model is nearly a cube. Send those measurements with the accessory list and the insert type you prefer, and the carton is drawn around the heavier of the two arrangements.
A custom quote follows by email within one working day, with low minimums set per job and simple items from £0.25. Once the free proof is approved, production takes 4 to 7 working days, followed by free tracked delivery to the UK mainland in 2 to 3 working days; cartons that arrive misprinted or crushed are reprinted or refunded if reported within 10 days. For the heaviest family models, the double wall corrugated boxes for heavy appliances add a second layer of board.

Pressure Cooker Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering pressure cooker boxes.
Is single wall board strong enough for a pressure cooker?
For small stovetop models a heavy single wall can work, but most brands choose double wall for electric and family-size cookers because of the weight.
How do I stop the lid from scratching the pot?
Use an insert with a separate top tray for the lid, or place the lid inverted in the pot with a card or pulp spacer between them.
Moulded pulp or corrugated inserts?
Pulp follows curved electric bodies closely and absorbs knocks well. Corrugated inserts suit stovetop pots and are quick to change between sizes.
Will a carry handle hold a 6 kg electric multi-cooker?
Yes, when the board around the handle is reinforced, which we do on any carton over about 3 kg. Cut-out hand holds on the sides suit the heaviest models, and a glued carry handle on the top flaps suits stovetop pots under that weight.
Where should accessories go?
A side pocket or a tray above the pot keeps the steam rack, cord and utensils from rolling around. We design the insert around your accessory list.
Can one design cover several capacities?
Yes, a shared layout scaled to each box size keeps the range consistent and makes packing easier for your team.
Can the retail box also be used for shipping?
It can if it is strong enough and has a clear label area. Some brands prefer a plain outer shipper to protect the printed box.
Can recipes be printed on the box?
Yes, side panels or the inside lid are good places for a recipe or cooking time chart, which helps sell the cooker on the shelf.
Can cartons be ready before a new model ships from the factory?
Send dimensions as early as possible so the insert can be proofed. After approval, cartons take 4 to 7 working days to produce and 2 to 3 working days to deliver free and tracked to the UK mainland.
What if the appliance cartons arrive with crushed corners on the pallet?
Check the corners of the bottom layer of the pallet, where crush shows first. Send photos within 10 days of delivery and the affected cartons are reprinted or refunded.
Do you need a sample cooker?
Accurate dimensions and weight are usually enough. For complex electric models, photos of the parts laid out help us plan the insert.
