Custom Vinyl Stickers
Custom vinyl stickers are the tough ones: printed on a plastic film rather than paper, they cope with rain, spills, a run through the dishwasher and months stuck to a laptop lid. We print and die-cut them to any shape, for brands giving away merch, makers labelling products and anyone who needs a sticker that lasts.

What Makes Vinyl Different From Paper Stickers
Paper stickers are fine for sealing a bag or labelling a box that will be thrown away. The moment a sticker is handled often, gets wet or lives outdoors, paper starts to fail. Edges lift, ink rubs off and the surface tears when someone tries to peel it. Vinyl is a flexible plastic film, so it bends with curved surfaces, resists water and stays intact when removed.
Our vinyl stickers are printed with inks suited to the film and finished with a protective laminate. The laminate is what gives them their resistance to scratches and fading. Together, the film, ink and laminate turn a printed image into something people can stick on a water bottle, a skateboard or a cool box lid and expect to keep looking good.
That durability is why vinyl is the default for stickers people choose to keep. If a sticker is meant to live on someone's belongings long after they bought from you, vinyl is the right material. Stickers that only need to last a season on card suit the cheaper paper logo stickers for parcels.
Choosing a Finish
Gloss vinyl makes colours look rich and saturated and gives a slightly shiny, wet look. Matt vinyl softens the colours a little and removes glare, which suits minimal designs and stickers that will be photographed. Clear vinyl has no white base, so the surface underneath shows through anywhere you have not printed, which is ideal for logos on glass or coloured products.
Specialist finishes add character. Holographic vinyl shifts colour as it moves, glitter vinyl sparkles, and white vinyl with a soft-touch laminate feels almost velvety. Each costs a little more but can make a giveaway sticker much more desirable.
If the sticker will live outdoors, on a van, a bin or a gate, tell us. We will recommend a laminate with stronger resistance to fading so the colours stay bright in direct sunlight. A shifting rainbow finish on the same film is covered under holographic stickers with a rainbow finish.

Shapes and Cutting Options for Custom Vinyl Stickers
Die-cut stickers are cut right through the vinyl and backing paper to the outline of your design, usually with a small white border. They look like a finished object even before they are peeled. Kiss-cut stickers are cut through the vinyl only, leaving a rectangular or square backing that is easier to print instructions on and to hand out.
Sticker sheets combine several kiss-cut designs on one backing, which works well for packs sold at markets or included in orders. Circles, squares and rounded rectangles are the cheapest shapes to cut, while complex outlines are handled with a digital cutter and add little extra cost.
Keep very thin spikes and tiny gaps out of die-cut outlines, as they can tear when peeled. Our proof shows the cut line around your artwork, and we will suggest smoothing any part of the outline that is likely to snag. Cutting to an outline is explained in more detail on the die-cut stickers cut to shape page.
Sizing a Sticker for Where It Will Go
Think about the surface before choosing a size. A laptop lid comfortably takes a sticker between 50 mm and 100 mm across. Water bottles and travel mugs suit stickers of around 50 mm to 75 mm, as anything bigger struggles to wrap a tight curve without wrinkling. Phone cases want small stickers, while kit boxes, guitar cases and van windows can carry much larger pieces.
For product labelling, measure the flat area of the jar, bottle or box and leave a few millimetres of clearance at each edge. Curved containers need a label that is not too tall, or the top and bottom will crease. If in doubt, print a paper test at your chosen size and hold it in place before ordering. Our guide to measuring products for packaging covers curved surfaces.
Where Vinyl Stickers Get Used
Merch is the biggest use. Bands, podcasts, streamers, clubs and illustrators sell or give away vinyl stickers because they are cheap to post and people show them off. Brands slip one into every order as a free extra, knowing it will end up on a laptop seen by colleagues and classmates.
Makers and small producers use vinyl as product labels where paper would not cope: on candles, bath products, drinks bottles that sit in ice, and anything stored in a fridge. Trades and businesses use them on equipment, vans and shop windows. Events use them as entry passes or for marking reusable cups and kit.
If the stickers are going out free with orders, consider designing them as something people would choose to display rather than a straight copy of your logo. An illustration, a phrase your customers use or a small character linked to your brand gets stuck on laptops and bottles far more often than a plain wordmark. The more people want to show the sticker, the more often your name is seen by people who have never heard of you, and that is the whole point of including one in the parcel. Makers who slip a sticker into every parcel often print it alongside the thank-you stickers for order inserts.
Artwork Tips That Save Reprints
Send artwork at the size it will be printed, at high resolution or as a vector file. Bright colours should be set up in CMYK, as screen colours often look more vivid than ink can achieve. Keep text and key details at least a few millimetres inside the cut line so nothing gets trimmed if the cut shifts slightly.
For clear vinyl, decide where you want white ink behind the colours. Without it, light colours look transparent on dark surfaces. We can add a white layer behind the whole design, behind certain parts or not at all, and we show this on the proof.
If you want a white border on die-cut stickers, tell us how thick you want it. A border of a few millimetres makes cutting more forgiving and gives the sticker a classic look. White ink and border options are compared in the print and finish options guide.
Stick a Paper Test on the Real Surface
The sticker size that looks right on a screen is often wrong on the object. Print your design on plain paper at the sizes you are considering, cut them out and hold each against the real surface: a 75 mm circle fills a water bottle, a 100 mm square covers half a small laptop lid, and a 50 mm sticker is lost on a kit box. That five-minute check also shows whether a curved surface needs a shorter label, since tall stickers crease on bottles. Then send the size, shape, finish and quantity with the number of designs.
A custom quote is emailed within one working day, minimums are kept low and set per job, and stickers start from £0.25 each depending on size and finish. The free proof shows the cut line and any white ink. Printing and cutting take 4 to 7 working days after approval and stickers are posted on free tracked delivery to UK mainland addresses in 2 to 3 working days; sheets that arrive misprinted or damaged are reprinted or refunded if reported within 10 days. Stickers meant for drinks bottles specifically are covered on the water bottle stickers that survive washing page.

Vinyl Stickers Questions
What buyers ask before ordering vinyl stickers.
Are vinyl stickers waterproof?
The vinyl film and laminate resist water, so stickers cope with rain, spills and washing up. Constant soaking or harsh scrubbing will eventually wear any sticker, but vinyl lasts far longer than paper.
Can vinyl stickers go in the dishwasher?
Laminated vinyl stickers generally handle a dishwasher on a bottle or mug, though high temperatures shorten their life. For items washed daily, hand washing keeps them looking good longer.
Should laptop stickers be die-cut or kiss-cut?
Die-cut, so the sticker is cut through both vinyl and backing to its outline and peels as a single shaped piece. Kiss-cut stickers stay on a larger backing and suit sheets of several designs handed out at events.
Will clear vinyl show my colours properly?
On a light surface, yes. On dark or coloured surfaces you need a white ink layer behind the design, otherwise light colours look see-through.
Can I order several designs in one order?
Yes, multiple designs can be printed in one run and quoted together. Sticker sheets are another way to combine several designs on one backing.
Will the sticker leave residue on my laptop?
Our standard adhesive peels away cleanly from most smooth surfaces in normal conditions. Heat and long periods in direct sunlight can make adhesive harder to remove.
Can vinyl stickers be used as product labels?
Yes, they work well on products that get wet or cold, such as drinks in ice, bath products and anything kept in a fridge.
Which size suits a water bottle?
Around 50 mm to 75 mm suits most bottles. Larger stickers can wrinkle around tight curves, so measure the flat area first.
Do holographic stickers cost more?
Yes, a little more than standard white vinyl, as the material is more expensive. Many brands use holographic for a limited design alongside their regular stickers.
Can stickers be packed individually for resale?
Yes, we can pack stickers in small bags with or without a backing card, ready to sell at markets or online.
What happens if the cut line clips my design?
We proof the cut line before production to avoid this. If a cutting fault slips through, report it within 10 days and we will reprint or refund.
