Custom Die-Cut Stickers

from £0.25 a stickerPriced per job · low minimums

Custom die-cut stickers are cut right through the backing to the shape of your logo or artwork, so each one peels off as a single clean shape with no square edges. They are the sticker of choice for merch, packaging seals, laptop decals and giveaways that people actually keep.

Die-Cut Versus Kiss-Cut

The word die-cut gets used loosely, so it is worth being clear. A true die-cut sticker is cut through both the sticker material and the backing paper, so the finished sticker, backing and all, matches the shape of your design. A kiss-cut sticker is only cut through the top layer, leaving the shape sitting on a larger square or rectangle of backing that you peel it from.

Die-cut stickers look neater when handed out loose or dropped into an order, because the shape itself is the product. Kiss-cut stickers are easier to peel and leave room for printing on the backing, which suits sticker sheets and stickers sold on a card. If you are unsure which suits your project, tell us how the stickers will be used and we will suggest the best option.

Most die-cut stickers have a small border, often called a bleed or white edge, around the artwork. That border protects the design if the cut is slightly off and gives the sticker a clean edge on dark surfaces.

Materials for Different Jobs

The material decides where your sticker can go and how long it lasts:

  • White gloss vinyl: tough and water-resistant, ideal for laptops, bottles and outdoor kit
  • White matt vinyl: the same durability with a softer, glare-free look
  • Clear vinyl: lets the surface show through around your design
  • Holographic vinyl: a rainbow shimmer that suits merch and fan stickers
  • Glitter vinyl: a sparkly finish for playful brands
  • Paper: economical for packaging seals and short-term use indoors
  • Kraft paper: a natural look for handmade and artisan brands

Designing a Shape That Cuts Well

Die-cutting follows a path around your artwork, so simple outlines cut more cleanly than shapes with lots of narrow spikes. Very thin points and gaps can tear or catch when the sticker is peeled. If your logo has detached parts, such as a separate word and icon, we join them with a background shape so they peel as one sticker.

Supply artwork as a high-resolution file with transparent background, or a vector file if you have one. We create the cut line for you, usually two to three millimetres outside the artwork, and show it on the proof so you can see the finished shape. If you want a specific outline, such as a circle around a character or a rough hand-drawn edge, mention it and we will follow your brief.

Sizes and How People Use Them

Die-cut stickers are sized by their widest dimension. Around 50 mm suits packaging seals and order inserts. Between 75 and 100 mm is the classic laptop and water bottle size. Larger stickers of 150 mm or more work on car windows, cases and equipment, though for those we would steer you to a durable vinyl.

Think about where people will stick them. A sticker for a laptop lid needs to fit comfortably beside a few others; one for a guitar case can be larger. For packaging, measure the area you want to seal and choose a sticker that overlaps the join well without wrapping around a corner.

If you are ordering stickers in several sizes, keep the artwork the same proportions so one design file can be scaled up or down. Small text that reads well at 100 mm may become illegible at 50 mm, so check the smallest size on the proof and simplify the design for it if needed. A bold outline around the artwork also helps a small sticker read clearly from a distance. For a round logo at the smallest sizes, circle stickers cut to standard diameters cost less than a bespoke shape.

Finishes and Special Effects

Vinyl stickers can have a gloss or matt laminate that protects the print from scratches and fading. Gloss makes colours pop, while matt gives a soft, modern look and is easier to photograph without glare. Holographic laminate over a white vinyl creates a shimmering overlay, and spot effects such as holographic only in certain areas are possible on some designs.

For brands that want a premium sticker, consider a white ink layer on clear vinyl, which keeps colours vivid on dark or transparent surfaces, or a soft-touch laminate that gives a velvety feel. Embossed and foiled stickers are better suited to paper labels, so for those see our embossed and foil sticker options.

Ideas for Brands and Makers

Small businesses use die-cut stickers in all sorts of ways. Dropping a free sticker into each order is one of the cheapest ways to get your logo onto a customer's laptop or water bottle. Bands and artists sell them at gigs. Cafés hand them out with loyalty cards. Clothing brands use them as swing tag seals. Event organisers include them in goody bags. Packaging brands use die-cut logo stickers to seal tissue paper and plain boxes, turning stock packaging into something that feels branded.

If you sell stickers as products, a set of designs in one order keeps the cost per design down, and kiss-cut sheets let you sell a collection together.

Stickers also work hard as low-cost marketing at events and markets. A bowl of free stickers on a stall draws people over, gives you a reason to start a conversation and sends visitors home with your name. Printing your website or social handle subtly on the design, rather than as a block of text, makes it more likely people will stick it somewhere visible instead of leaving it in a drawer.

Think about storage and handling too. Keep stickers flat, away from heat and out of direct sunlight until use, and store vinyl separately from paper so the backing does not curl. A neat stack of stickers in a small bag or envelope makes them easy to slip into orders at the packing bench.

Die-Cut Stickers Questions

What buyers ask before ordering Die-Cut stickers.

What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut?

A die-cut sticker is cut through the backing, so the whole sticker matches your shape. A kiss-cut sticker is cut through the top layer only, leaving it on a larger backing.

Are vinyl die-cut stickers waterproof?

Laminated vinyl stickers are water-resistant and handle washing up, rain and spills well, which is why they suit bottles and laptops.

Can you cut a sticker to the shape of our logo?

Yes. We create a cut line following your logo, usually with a small border, and show it on the proof.

What if our logo has separate parts?

We join detached parts with a background shape so the sticker peels off as one piece.

Which material is best for packaging seals?

Paper or kraft paper is economical for sealing tissue and boxes. Vinyl is better if the sticker might be reused on something else.

Can we order several designs in one go?

Yes. Many brands order a set of designs together, and we quote them together to keep the cost per design down.

Do you make holographic die-cut stickers?

We do. Holographic vinyl or a holographic laminate gives a shimmering effect that is popular for merch.

What size should a laptop sticker be?

Around 75 to 100 mm at the widest point is the most popular size for laptops and water bottles.

Can stickers go on clear surfaces?

Clear vinyl with a white ink layer keeps colours vivid on glass and clear plastic.

What artwork file do you need?

A high-resolution file with a transparent background, or a vector file. We prepare the cut line from it.

Can I see the cut line before printing?

Yes, your free design proof shows the artwork with the cut line marked so you can approve the exact shape.
