Custom Plaster Boxes
Custom plaster boxes are compact tuck end cartons that hold adhesive plasters and small dressings, printed with the size information shoppers look for on a pharmacy shelf. We make them in folding board with your branding, product details and the option of a hang tab or window.

A Small Carton With a Lot of Jobs
A box of plasters looks simple, but it has to do several things at once. It needs to protect individually wrapped strips from crushing, show clearly what is inside, carry the regulatory and usage information, and still open and close many times as plasters are taken out one at a time. A well designed tuck end carton handles all of that in a box that fits in a drawer, a handbag or a first aid kit.
The standard style closes with a tuck flap at each end. Customers open one end, slide out a plaster, and tuck the flap back in. A reverse tuck, with the flaps opening on opposite faces, is common because it prints well and folds quickly on a packing bench or machine. For boxes that will be opened often, a tuck flap with a small locking slit keeps the end closed in a bag.
Who Orders Printed Plaster Cartons
First aid brands selling to pharmacies and supermarkets are the main buyers, but they are far from the only ones. Children's plaster brands with character designs, sports tape and blister plaster ranges, workplace first aid suppliers, tattoo aftercare companies and pet first aid brands all need small cartons of the same kind, often beside a larger bandage box. Promotional companies also order branded plaster boxes as giveaways, because a useful item that sits in a bag for months keeps a logo in view.
Each group needs something slightly different. A pharmacy brand needs space for detailed information; a children's range needs bright artwork; a promotional box needs a big logo and little else.

Size Panels and Clear Information
Shoppers scan plaster boxes for two things: how many are inside and what sizes they are. Printing a size panel showing each plaster at actual size, or a simple outline with its dimensions in mm, answers that question at a glance, and a foil accent on the carton helps a premium range read as one. Mixed boxes benefit most, because a customer can see whether the assortment includes the large square dressing they need for a knee.
The back and side panels carry the rest: directions for use, warnings, the manufacturer's details, batch number and expiry date. Medical device rules may apply to your plasters, so follow the labelling requirements that apply to your product; we print what you supply exactly, and we can leave clear areas for batch and date codes to be added during packing.
Keep the front simple. A bold brand name, the product type and the quantity are enough. Everything else can sit on the other five sides.
Working Out Carton Dimensions
Plasters are packed in their individual wrappers, so measure a stack of wrapped plasters rather than a single strip. Lay them as they will sit in the box, usually flat and stacked, measure length, width and stack height, then add 2 to 3 mm to each so the stack slides out easily, as the guide to measuring your product describes. If the box holds mixed sizes, base the carton on the largest wrapper.
A common problem is a carton that is too deep for the quantity, so the plasters slump to one end and the box looks half empty when opened. Size the depth to the actual count and leave a little room, not a lot.
If the box will hang on a peg, add a hang tab above the top panel. Allow its height in your shelf planning.
Board and Finishes for Pharmacy Shelves
White folding board around 300 to 350 gsm is the usual choice. It gives a clean, clinical look and reproduces colours accurately, which matters for brands that use consistent colour coding across a range; the board and card types explained page covers the grades. A matt or gloss varnish protects the print from handling, and a gloss finish makes colours look brighter under shop lighting.
Children's ranges often add spot gloss over characters or a metallic foil star. Premium ranges, such as fabric or waterproof plasters, sometimes use a soft-touch laminate to feel more substantial. A die-cut window showing the plaster colour, sealed with clear film, is useful when you sell skin-tone or patterned plasters and want the product to be visible.
Think about where the box spends its life after purchase. Plaster boxes are kept in bathroom cabinets, car glove boxes and sports bags, so they get handled with damp hands and squashed against other items. A varnish or laminate keeps the print readable after months of use, and a slightly heavier board stops the box collapsing in a crowded first aid kit. For cartons that go into workplace kits, a plain, high-contrast design with large text is easier to find in a hurry.
Tips From Brands Packing by Hand
Cartons arrive flat with the side seam already glued. Open one into a tube, close the base tuck, fill it and close the top, the same routine as any reverse tuck end carton. A small team can pack a few hundred an hour once they find a rhythm. Keep cartons in their outer box until needed so corners stay crisp.
If you sell several variants, consider one shared base design with a colour band or panel that changes for each variant. It keeps the range recognisable and makes it harder for packers to mix up boxes. A different colour tuck flap is another quick visual check at the packing bench.
Before ordering a full run, ask for a plain sample carton and pack it with real plasters. Check that the stack slides out with one finger, that the tuck flap closes without bulging, and that the box still stands upright on a shelf. Small adjustments at this stage, such as a millimetre more depth, are free to make and save frustration later when thousands of boxes are already printed.
Stack the Wrapped Plasters, Not the Strips, Before Sending a Size
Plaster cartons are measured from the wrappers, because the paper sleeve around each plaster is wider than the strip inside and the stack is taller than it looks. Count out the number that goes in one box, stack them as they will sit, and measure the length, width and height of that stack, then add 2 to 3 mm to each figure. For a mixed box, base the carton on the largest wrapper. Decide too if the carton hangs on a peg, needs a window, and where batch and expiry codes are stamped, since that panel stays unvarnished.
Send the carton size, the print colours or full colour artwork, any finishes and the quantity, and a custom quote comes back by email within one working day, minimums quoted per job so a new range can start small. Every order comes with a free design proof showing the flat carton with panels, folds and glue areas, so every line of text can be checked. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and free tracked UK mainland delivery follows in 2 to 3 working days. Brands with a healing gel in the range usually add matching scar gel cartons.

Plaster Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering plaster boxes.
Can you print each plaster size at actual size on the box?
Yes. A size panel showing each plaster as an outline with its dimensions in mm is one of the most useful features on a mixed box. Send the sizes and we will place them on the artwork.
Which tuck style is best for a box opened many times?
A reverse tuck end with a small locking slit holds well after repeated opening. Plain tuck flaps can loosen in a bag over time.
Do you check medical labelling requirements?
We print the information you supply exactly as approved on the proof. Your own regulatory adviser should confirm what your plasters need on pack.
How should I measure for the carton?
Measure a stack of individually wrapped plasters as they will sit in the box, then add 2 to 3 mm to each dimension. Base mixed boxes on the largest wrapper.
Can the carton hang on a pharmacy peg?
Yes. A hang tab with a euro slot can be added above the top panel. It is cut from the same sheet, so it adds little to the cost.
Is a window a good idea for plaster boxes?
It helps when the plaster colour or pattern is part of the appeal, such as skin tones or children's prints. A clear film keeps dust out.
Can I leave space for batch numbers and expiry dates?
Yes. We leave a clear, unvarnished panel so codes can be stamped, printed or labelled during packing.
Can one design cover several plaster types?
A shared base design with a changing colour band works well. It keeps the range consistent while making each variant easy to tell apart.
Do plaster cartons arrive glued or as flat blanks?
They arrive flat with the side seam already glued, ready to open into a tube and fill. This keeps storage compact and means no gluing on the packing line. A box of 1,000 flat cartons takes a fraction of the space of the filled product.
What happens if my plaster boxes arrive with a print fault?
Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we will reprint or refund the affected cartons. Production for any reprint follows the usual 4 to 7 working day schedule.
