Custom Supplement Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

Supplement shelves are crowded, and most bottles look alike, so the box is often what makes a shopper reach for one brand over another. Our custom supplement boxes are cartons sized for capsule bottles, powder tubs and sachet packs, printed with clear label panels and branding for nutrition and wellness companies.

Why Supplement Brands Box Their Bottles

Many supplements are sold in a bottle or tub with a label and nothing more. Adding a box costs a little extra, but brands do it for good reasons. A box gives far more printable space than a curved label, so there is room for the full product information, usage directions and the brand story without tiny text. It protects the container from scuffs and dents in transit and on the shelf. And it makes the product look more premium, which supports a higher price.

A box also helps with tamper evidence. A sealed carton, or a carton with a seal sticker across the opening, shows the customer that the product has not been opened since it left you. That reassurance matters for anything people swallow.

For online sales, a boxed product photographs better than a bare bottle and arrives looking cared for, which helps with repeat orders. p2 Brands selling single-dose sachets often pair the carton with printed sachets for powders.

Sizing Supplement Boxes Around the Container

Measure the container at its widest point, usually the cap or the shoulder of the bottle, and its full height with the cap on. Add 1 to 2 mm on width and depth and a few millimetres on height. A snug fit stops the container rattling and keeps the box looking crisp; too much space makes the box feel empty when picked up.

Supplement containers vary a lot. Capsule bottles are typically tall and narrow, powder tubs are wide and heavy, and sachet packs are flat. If your range uses several container sizes, we can create a family of boxes with matching designs so the products look related on the shelf. p1 Capsule bottles in blister form take our cartons for blister packs instead.

  • 60-capsule bottles: slim carton, often around 55 x 55 x 110 mm
  • 120-capsule bottles: taller or wider carton for the larger bottle
  • Powder tubs: square cartons on thicker board for the weight
  • Sachet and stick packs: flat cartons or dispenser boxes
  • Dropper bottles for liquid supplements: narrow cartons with headroom

Planning the Label Panels

Supplements carry a good deal of required information, and it should be planned before the design starts. Typically this includes the product name, the quantity, the ingredients, the amount of each nutrient per serving, directions for use, warnings, storage advice, a best before date, a batch number and the business name and address. Food supplements sold in the UK have specific labelling rules, and it is your responsibility to make sure the text is correct; we take care of fitting it neatly and legibly.

A common layout puts the brand and product name on the front, with a short description of what it is. One side carries the directions and warnings, the back holds the nutrition table and ingredients, and the other side has the barcode, batch area and contact details. Leaving a blank space for batch and date codes saves reprinting whenever a new batch is made.

We set the text to a legible size and check contrast on the proof, so nothing important is hidden in pale type. p2 The same panel plan is used on our vitamin boxes page, with examples of a nutrition table layout.

Design That Builds Trust

Supplement buyers are often cautious. They read the label, compare products and look for signs of quality. Clean, uncluttered designs with plenty of white space tend to suggest a trustworthy brand. Bold, colourful designs suit sports nutrition and products aimed at younger buyers. Natural and plant-based ranges often use earthy colours and kraft or textured board, which signal a gentler, simpler product before a word is read.

Colour coding helps when you have a range. Giving each product its own accent colour, while keeping the layout the same, makes it easy for customers to find their product and to spot others in the range. Icons for key features, such as vegan or gluten free where these are accurate for your product, are quicker to read than text. Be careful with wording, though: claims about what a supplement does for health are tightly controlled, and a box covered in bold promises can attract the wrong kind of attention. A calm design that states what is inside and how to take it usually earns more trust than one shouting about benefits. p1 Sports ranges with bold colour are shown on our sports nutrition boxes page.

Board, Print and Finish

Most supplement boxes are made from white folding boxboard, which prints crisply and is light enough to keep shipping costs down. For heavy powder tubs, a thicker board or a crash lock base adds strength. Kraft board suits natural and herbal ranges, and it pairs well with a single dark ink and a simple illustration of the main ingredient.

A matt laminate gives a modern, clinical feel and resists fingerprints. Soft-touch adds a premium feel for higher-priced ranges. Spot gloss on the product name or a foil logo lifts the box without cluttering the design. All of these finishes also protect the printed text from rubbing, which keeps the information legible throughout the product's life.

Subscription and Bundle Packaging

Many supplement brands sell by subscription, sending a month's supply at a time. A mailer box holding several products with an insert keeps everything tidy and creates a pleasant unboxing. Starter kits and bundles, such as a morning and evening pair, work well in a box with two compartments.

Sample packs are another useful format. A small box holding a few sachets or a mini bottle lets new customers try the product before committing. These boxes can be printed with a discount code or a QR code that links to your full range, turning a trial into a first full order. p1 Trial packs are usually built as a small tuck box the size of a sweet box with a sachet insert.

Write the Nutrition Panel Before the Front Panel

Supplement cartons get redesigned when the required text turns out not to fit, so start at the back. Write the ingredients, the per-serving table, directions, warnings and the business address first, and tell us the container size; we lay the panels out and tell you if the box needs to grow before anyone touches the front. Leave a blank area for batch and best-before codes so a new batch never means a reprint.

Measure the container at the cap or shoulder, whichever is wider, and the height with the cap on. For powder tubs ask for a crash-lock base. The custom quote arrives by email within one working day, from £0.25 a carton on larger runs, with the minimum set per job so a new brand can launch each product in a sensible quantity.

The free proof shows every panel at size; you approve every word, and checking the wording against the rules for your product is your responsibility. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and the cartons reach UK mainland addresses by free tracked delivery. Brands that ship a month's supply by post usually add a subscription mailer box with an insert in the same colours.

Supplement Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering supplement boxes.

Do I need a box if my bottle already has a label?

Not always, but a box gives more space for information, protects the bottle and makes the product look more premium. Many brands box their best sellers and gift sets.

Who checks that the label text is correct?

You are responsible for the content of your labels. We make sure it fits, is legible and matches what you send, and you approve every word on the free proof.

Can a supplement carton leave a space for the batch number and best-before date?

Yes. We leave an unvarnished area on a side or base panel where a code can be printed or stamped after filling, so the carton artwork does not change with each batch. Tell us the printer or stamp you use and we size the patch to it.

What board suits a heavy powder tub?

A thicker boxboard with a crash lock base is best. It holds the weight and stops the base opening when the box is picked up.

Can the carton show it has not been opened?

Yes. A seal sticker across the tuck flap tears when the box is opened, and we can print the seals with your logo in the same job. A glued carton with a tear strip is the other option for larger runs.

Can you make a subscription mailer for several products?

Yes. A mailer box with an insert holds a month's supply neatly. Tell us the containers and we design the layout.

Can each product in my range have its own colour?

Yes. Colour coding is common for supplement ranges. We keep the layout consistent and change the accent colour for each product.

Is kraft board suitable for supplements?

Yes, especially for natural and herbal ranges. Dark inks and white ink print best on kraft.

What do supplement boxes cost?

Simple cartons on larger runs start from £0.25 each. Your custom quote shows the exact price for your size, quantity and finish.

When can I expect my supplement boxes?

They are made in four to seven working days once you approve the proof, then reach UK mainland addresses by free tracked delivery in two to three working days. Allow a day or two for the proof at the start.
