Custom Tampon Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

Custom tampon boxes have to be calm, clear and easy to open with one hand in a bathroom, while still standing out on a pharmacy shelf. We print cartons, dispenser packs and subscription mailers that let a period care brand speak plainly about absorbency and use without shouting.

What Period Care Packaging Has to Get Right

A tampon box is read in two places: the shop or website where it is chosen, and the bathroom cupboard where it is used. In the shop, the buyer wants to find their absorbency quickly and trust what is inside. At home, they want to pull out one tampon without the rest spilling and to know at a glance how many are left.

That makes clarity more important than decoration. The best period care packs we print use a confident brand mark, one strong colour, and a simple system for absorbency that is repeated on every face. Many brands use drop icons or a colour band, but the words for each absorbency should always be printed as well, not left to colour alone.

Discretion is the third job. Plenty of buyers prefer a box that would not look out of place on an open shelf, and some prefer packaging that does not obviously announce what it holds. A clean, typographic design with a softer palette does both. Period care sits alongside baby and pharmacy lines in our health and personal care packaging range.

Carton Styles for Tampons

Most retail tampon packs are folding cartons with a tuck end or a glued base. The style you choose decides how the box opens and how it behaves once part-used.

A dispenser opening, such as a perforated tear-away panel on the top or front, lets the user pull tampons out one at a time while the rest stay upright. A flip-top lid with a tuck flap can be closed again, which helps when the box lives in a handbag drawer or a gym bag.

Think about where the box will live after purchase. A tall, narrow carton fits the side of a bathroom cabinet; a low, wide one slides into a drawer. If you know most of your customers keep tampons in a drawer, a flip-top that opens from the long side is much easier to use than a top-opening dispenser that has to be lifted out every time.

Applicator and non-applicator tampons also pack differently. Applicator tampons are longer and usually lie flat in rows, while compact non-applicator tampons stand upright like a bundle of pencils. Send us a few samples or exact wrapped dimensions and we will size the carton to stop them shifting.

Colour Coding Absorbency Clearly

If your range covers several absorbencies, the packaging must make the difference obvious without making every box look unrelated. A common approach is a shared master design with one changing element: a band of colour, a set of filled drop icons, or a large absorbency word in a fixed position.

Pick colours with enough contrast that someone with colour vision deficiency can still tell the boxes apart, and always pair the colour with a printed word. Place the absorbency on the front, on the top and on at least one side, because tampon boxes are often stacked on their side or seen from above in a basket.

Our free design proof shows each variant together, so you can check the range as a set before printing, rather than finding a near-duplicate colour once the boxes are on a shelf.

Board, Print and Finish

A 300 to 350 gsm folding boxboard is the usual choice for retail tampon cartons. It is light enough to keep shipping costs down and stiff enough to hold the shape while the box empties. Kraft board suits brands with an earthy, natural look; white board gives the cleanest colours and the crispest small text.

Matt laminate or a matt aqueous coating feels soft and calm in the hand and resists fingerprints. A small area of spot UV or a foil on the logo adds a premium touch without making the pack loud. If the box will sit in a damp bathroom, a laminate helps it last until the last tampon is used.

The inside of the carton can be printed too. Some brands use it for a short, friendly usage guide or a reminder about changing regularly, which is easier to read there than on a crowded back panel. Our board guide covers laminated board for bathrooms and other damp spaces.

Information Panels and Leaflets

Tampon packs normally carry usage guidance and health information alongside the product description. You provide the wording that applies to your product; we lay it out so it is legible, with a sensible minimum type size and enough contrast against the board.

If the information is long, a folded leaflet inside the box keeps the outer design clean. We can size the carton to hold the leaflet flat against one wall, so it does not get crumpled by the tampons. Keep the batch code and best-before area as a plain panel so your packing team can print or stamp it later. Usage guidance can be printed inside with inside print on folding cartons rather than on a loose leaflet.

Subscription and Online Orders

Period care subscriptions often send a mixed bundle each month: tampons, pads, liners and sometimes a small treat. A printed mailer box with a plain or softly branded outside and a fully printed inside gives privacy on the doorstep and a warm moment when opened.

Size the mailer around the retail cartons it will carry so they sit snugly without an insert. A slim mailer that fits through a letterbox is worth considering, because it saves your customer a trip to the sorting office. We can also print a small thank-you card or reorder card to sit on top.

Inside the mailer, a simple printed card explaining what is in this month’s box, or how to change the order, cuts down on customer emails. Keep the tone friendly and practical; people appreciate a brand that talks about periods as an ordinary part of life rather than something to whisper about. Monthly bundles usually travel in letterbox postal boxes sized to the cartons.

Settle the Absorbency System Before Any Artwork

Tampon cartons are a range from day one, so the first job is the system that tells absorbencies apart: a colour band, a row of drop icons or both, always with the name in plain text. Agree that system before artwork starts, because every variant then shares one master design and only one element changes. Measure the tampon with its applicator or wrapper, decide the count per box and whether the carton dispenses one at a time through a tear-out panel. Subscription brands should also settle the letterbox bundle now, since a slim letterbox postal box is sized to hold a set number of cartons.

Send the sizes, counts, number of variants and quantities, and a custom quote comes by email within one working day. The free proof shows every variant side by side so the colour system can be checked. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval, cartons arrive flat by tracked courier to UK mainland addresses, and a variant printed in the wrong colour reported within 10 days is reprinted or refunded.

Tampon Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering tampon boxes.

How should we show different absorbencies on the box?

Keep one master design and change a single element such as a colour band or drop icons, always with the absorbency word printed beside it. Repeat it on the front, top and a side.

Can the box dispense one tampon at a time?

Yes, a perforated tear-out panel on the top or front turns the carton into a dispenser. The remaining tampons stay upright and tidy.

Can we make the packaging discreet?

Yes. A calm palette, clean type and no product photography keep the box understated. For subscriptions, a plain outer mailer with a printed inside adds privacy on delivery.

Will the carton hold up in a steamy bathroom?

A matt or gloss laminate protects the board from moisture so the box keeps its shape and print until it is empty.

Can you print usage information inside the box?

Yes, inside print is available, or we can size the carton to hold a folded leaflet flat. You supply the wording for your product and we lay it out clearly.

Do you leave space for batch codes?

We can include a plain panel for your batch number and dates so your packing team can stamp or label it after printing.

What size letterbox mailer suits a monthly bundle?

A mailer around 240 x 160 x 25 mm fits through most letterboxes. Tell us the cartons it will carry and we will size it to hold them snugly.

Is kraft board suitable for tampon cartons?

Yes, kraft gives a natural look and prints well in one or two strong colours. White board is better if you need bright colours or very small text.

Can we launch a new absorbency without waiting weeks for boxes?

Usually yes. A new variant shares the master design, so proofing is quick; production then runs 4 to 7 working days, with free tracked UK mainland delivery taking 2 to 3 working days.

Can a new brand order a small first run?

Yes, minimums are low and quoted per job, which lets you launch several absorbencies without overstocking any of them.

What if one absorbency variant prints in the wrong colour?

Let us know within 10 days of delivery and we will reprint or refund the affected boxes.
