Clear Box Styles

A tuck end PET carton is the simplest style, folding like a normal card box with tuck flaps at each end. A clear lid on a printed card base gives a tray and lid feel and suits gift sets. Clear cylinders with card or PET end caps look elegant for rolled bibs, socks or small toys. Hanger tab cartons with a euro slot let the box hang on a peg wall, which baby boutiques and pharmacies often prefer.

Inside, a printed card insert or backing board holds the item in place. Booties can be stitched or clipped to a card, teethers can sit in a die-cut slot, and soft toys can be secured with a small clear tie so they stay upright and centred.

Printing on Clear PET

Printing on clear plastic works differently from printing on card. Colours are translucent unless a white layer is printed underneath them, so we print a white base under your logo and text where you want them to look solid. Areas left without ink stay crystal clear. This lets you create a frame effect, where printed borders surround a clear window showing the product.

Soft pastels, simple line drawings and clean typography look especially good on clear boxes because they leave plenty of the product visible. For a softer look, frosted PET diffuses the view of the product while still showing its shape and colour, and it hides fingerprints well. Sizing a Clear Carton

Arrange the item exactly as it should be displayed, including any backing card or insert, and measure the width, depth and height. Add 3 to 5 mm on each dimension so the product slides in without scratching the PET. For soft items like hats, press them gently into the intended shape before measuring, as a tightly packed knit will push the walls outwards.

If you sell items in several sizes, such as newborn and six-month booties, a single box sized to the largest item with a backing card for the smaller one keeps the shelf tidy and reduces the number of designs you need.

Tell us how the box will be closed after packing as well. A small round sticker across the tuck flap, printed with your logo, seals the box neatly and shows that it has not been opened since it left your workshop.

Mark on a sketch which panels stay transparent, which carry a solid colour and where the logo sits, then measure the item on its card, not on its own.
