Measuring a Folded Bib

Fold the bib the way you want it presented, usually in half or in thirds with the print facing forward, and measure it flat. Then measure its thickness, especially if it has a towelling layer or a waterproof backing, because two thick bibs can be deeper than you expect. Add a few millimetres all round so the bib slides in without dragging the fabric. For a window box, decide which part of the print should show and we will place the window over it.

If you sell bandana bibs, dribble bibs and weaning bibs with sleeves, they will not share one box size comfortably. Weaning bibs in particular are bulkier. We can design a small family of sizes with shared artwork so the range looks consistent.

A quick way to check your measurements is to cut a rough box from an old cereal carton, tape it together and try the bib inside. If it slides in easily but does not rattle, the size is right. If the fabric bunches at the corners, add a couple of millimetres. This takes ten minutes and saves guesswork, and you can send us the final numbers with confidence. Board, Print and Finishes for Baby Bib Boxes

Most bib boxes are made from white folding boxboard, which prints soft pastel colours accurately and gives a clean, gentle look. Kraft board suits brands with a natural or handmade style, and pairs well with simple line illustrations in one or two colours. For premium sets, rigid board wrapped in printed paper gives a gift box that parents tend to keep for storing keepsakes.

Baby product packaging often uses delicate colours, which are harder to print evenly than bold ones. We print in full colour and can add a spot colour where your brand shade has to match exactly. Inserts can be plain white card or printed to match the box, and a short note on the inside of the lid, perhaps a welcome message for the new arrival, finishes the set nicely.
