Packaging Built Around a Long Handle

A frying pan is an awkward shape to package. The round body is wide and shallow, and the handle sticks out to one side, often as long as the pan is wide, which is why these boxes look so different from our other custom cookware boxes. Boxing the whole thing in a rectangle wastes space; leaving the handle loose risks it catching and bending in transit. Pan packaging solves that in a few different ways.

Full boxes enclose both pan and handle in a long carton, usually with an insert that holds the pan flat and keeps the handle in a channel. Sleeves wrap around the pan body and leave the handle free, so shoppers can grip it and feel the weight. Window boxes enclose the pan but show the coating through a clear panel. Each approach suits a different way of selling.

Removable handles are another variation. Some modern pan ranges come with a detachable handle that clips on, which makes the packaging much more compact. In that case the handle can sit in its own compartment beside the pan, and the box can be close to square. Tell us if your pans work this way, as it changes the shape of the box considerably.

Box, Sleeve or Window Carton

A full box offers the most protection and is the best choice for pans sold online, for premium ranges and for sets of several pans. It also gives the most printable space for features and photography, and the board and card types guide explains which flute suits a heavy pan.

A sleeve is popular in shops because it lets customers handle the product. It covers the cooking surface with card, protecting the coating from scratches, while the handle and the underside remain visible. Sleeves use less material and cost less than full boxes.

A window carton is a middle ground. The pan is fully enclosed and protected, but a die-cut window shows the colour and texture of the non-stick surface, which is often one of the main selling points.

Measuring Pans for Non-Stick Pan Boxes

Pans are sold by diameter, typically 20, 24, 28 and 30 cm for frying pans, but the box must be sized from the overall dimensions. Measure the outside diameter at the rim, the height from base to rim, and the full length from the far rim to the end of the handle. Add the height of any helper handle or lid knob if a lid is included.

If you sell a range of diameters, a box per size is usually best, because a 20 cm pan in a 28 cm box will slide and scratch. For sets, the pans often nest inside each other with protective pads between them, which keeps the box compact.

Do measure a finished production sample rather than relying on a drawing. Rivets, hanging loops and the flare of the rim can add several millimetres, and handles are sometimes angled upwards, which increases the overall height. A sample measured with a tape and a straight edge gives the most reliable numbers.

Protecting the Coating

A non-stick coating is the reason people buy the pan, so it must arrive unmarked. Corrugated cardboard inserts placed directly on the cooking surface protect it from scratches during handling. When pans are nested in a set, a felt, foam or card pad between each one stops the base of one pan scratching the coating of the next.

Board grade depends on weight. A single aluminium pan can go in a heavy folding board box; cast or multi-ply pans and sets are heavier and need E-flute or B-flute corrugated. For online sales, a corrugated box with a snug insert is strongly recommended, as couriers handle parcels roughly.

Printing Features That Sell Cookware

Cookware shoppers compare features: coating layers, suitable hobs, oven-safe temperature, dishwasher suitability and the handle material. Icons for induction, gas, electric and ceramic hobs are quick to read and save space, as the print and finish options compared page shows for small graphics. A clear photograph of food cooking in the pan shows the product in use far better than a description.

Use the front of the box or sleeve for the brand, the pan type and size, and one strong image. The sides and back carry the feature list, care instructions and barcode. Any performance or safety claims you print are your responsibility, so make sure they match your product testing. We print the text you supply.

A consistent design across your range helps on a shelf. Many brands use the same layout for every size and change the size number and photograph, so the whole range looks organised.

Retail Display and Online Delivery

In shops, sleeves and window boxes can hang from a hook through a hole in the handle or stand upright on a shelf. A hang tab on the sleeve gives retailers another display choice. Full boxes stack neatly on lower shelves and in warehouse clubs.

Online sellers should think of the box as both the retail pack and the shipping carton. A printed corrugated box with a fitted insert can travel with just a label, which saves on extra packaging and makes the unboxing feel like opening something new from a shop.

Gift sets deserve their own thought. A set of pans with a matching spatula or a set of utensils makes a popular wedding or housewarming present, and a full printed box with a window or a lifestyle photograph on the lid turns it into a ready-made gift that needs no wrapping.

Measure From the Far Rim to the Handle Tip, Then Weigh the Set

A pan box is sized by its longest dimension, and that is not the diameter. Lay the pan on a table and measure from the far edge of the rim to the end of the handle, then the rim diameter and the height with the lid on if there is one; a helper handle adds to all three. For a set, nest the pans with a pad between each, measure the stack and weigh it, since a heavy set pushes the box to B-flute. Say if the pans sell in a shop, where a sleeve suits, or online, where a full box with a coating disc is safer.

Send the diameters, heights, handle lengths, the packaging style and artwork, and a custom quote arrives by email within one working day, from £0.25 for simple sleeves and more for full boxes depending on size and board, minimums quoted per job. A free proof shows the dieline, the insert and the artwork. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and free tracked delivery reaches UK mainland addresses in 2 to 3 working days. Brands with a toaster in the range usually add appliance boxes in the same artwork.

Non-Stick Pan Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering Non-Stick pan boxes.

Box or sleeve, which is better for frying pans?

Sleeves let shoppers handle the pan and cost less, which suits shops. Full boxes protect better and suit online sales and premium ranges. Window cartons offer protection while showing the coating.

How do I protect the non-stick coating?

A card or corrugated disc placed on the cooking surface prevents scratches. For nested sets, pads between pans stop one scratching another. A snug fit stops movement.

How do you measure a pan with a long handle?

We need the outside rim diameter, the height and the overall length from far rim to handle end. Include any helper handle or lid knob. We add allowances for the insert and board.

Can I use one box for several pan sizes?

Smaller pans will slide in larger boxes and may get scratched. A box per size is safer. A shared outer design keeps the range consistent.

Which board suits a heavy pan set?

E-flute or B-flute corrugated board handles heavy multi-ply and cast pans. Folding board is fine for a single light pan. Tell us the total weight and we will advise.

Can I print hob suitability icons?

Yes, icons for induction, gas, electric and ceramic hobs are a quick way to show compatibility. Supply the icons or ask us to set them from your list. They fit neatly on a side panel.

Can sleeves hang from a hook in a shop?

Many pans hang by the handle hole, and a sleeve can include a hang tab too. That gives retailers more display options. We position it so it does not cover key artwork.

Can the box be sent without an outer carton?

A printed corrugated box with a fitted insert can usually travel with just a label. It saves packaging and time. The customer receives a box that feels like a retail product.

Can I add a window to show the coating colour?

Yes, a window on the lid or front shows the surface texture and colour. We keep the window clear of the handle channel. Clear film covers the opening.

Do you make boxes for pans with lids?

Yes, we add height for the lid and its knob, and can include an insert that holds the lid separately. That prevents the lid rattling against the coating. Send us the lid dimensions.
