Custom Cookware Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

Custom cookware boxes carry frying pans, saucepans, casserole dishes and full pan sets from the factory to the kitchen, with product photography on the outside to sell them on the shop floor. They need to be strong enough for heavy cast iron and smart enough to sit beside the big names in a homeware aisle.

Heavy, Awkward and Easy to Scratch

Cookware is a tricky product to pack. A cast iron casserole is heavy, a stack of stainless saucepans has handles sticking out at odd angles and a non-stick frying pan scratches easily if it rubs against another pan. Glass lids crack if they knock against metal. The box has to deal with all of that while staying neat enough for a retail shelf.

That usually means corrugated board rather than folding card, inserts that hold each piece apart, and a box shaped closely around the product so nothing moves. A pan set packed loosely in a big box will arrive with chipped enamel or a broken lid.

The box also has to sell. Customers rarely open a cookware box in a shop, so the outside has to show what is inside, how big it is, what it is made of and which hobs it works on.

Retail buyers check packaging too. Homeware chains and department stores often ask for boxes that stack safely on a shelf, carry a scannable barcode in a set place and survive their own distribution centres. Getting that right first time makes it easier to win and keep a listing. p3 The same retail rules apply to our boxes for crockery and dinner sets, which share a shelf.

Showing the Product on Custom Cookware Boxes

Product photography is the norm in cookware retail. A large, clear photo of the pan on the front panel, ideally in use with food in it, tells shoppers more than any amount of text. Side panels can show close-ups of the handle, the base and the non-stick surface.

Full colour printing on white-lined corrugated board gives sharp, bright photographs. For premium brands, matt lamination with a spot gloss on the product image lifts the pan image off the background. A window cut into the front panel can let shoppers see and touch the actual product, useful for showing the finish of copper or enamel.

  • Full colour product photos on every face
  • Hob compatibility icons on the side panels
  • Size and capacity in large, clear type
  • Optional window to show the real finish

Inserts That Protect Pans and Lids

For a single pan, a corrugated or card insert that holds the pan in place and supports the handle is usually enough. For sets, each pan needs its own space. Nested sets, where smaller pans sit inside larger ones, need protective sheets or pulp separators between them to stop non-stick surfaces scratching.

Glass lids are the most fragile part. A separate compartment or a lid cradle that holds the lid upright, away from metal, prevents chipping. Handles and knobs can be protected with card sleeves or wraps.

Moulded pulp inserts are increasingly used for cookware because they cushion well and can be shaped closely around pans. Corrugated inserts are cheaper for simpler products and easy to change if your range changes.

Think about how the customer unpacks the box. An insert that lifts out in one piece with the pans still in it is easier than pulling each item from a tight slot. A thumb notch on each side of the box, or a pull tab on the insert, helps with heavy sets and stops people tipping the box upside down over the kitchen counter. p3 Separators for nested pans are cut as corrugated dividers for heavy items.

Board Strength and Shipping

Most cookware boxes are made from single-wall corrugated, usually B-flute or E-flute, with a white printed outer liner. Heavy cast iron and large pan sets may need double-wall board. Tell us the total packed weight and whether the box will be sent direct to customers or delivered to shops on pallets.

If you sell online, the retail box is often placed in a plain outer carton for shipping. Alternatively, a stronger box with a print-friendly outer can be shipped on its own with a label. For marketplaces with strict packaging rules, we can help you meet their size and strength guidance.

Handles cut into the box sides make large sets easier for customers to carry home from the shop.

Pallet stacking is another reason to get the board right. Cookware is heavy, and boxes at the bottom of a pallet carry the weight of every layer above them. A box that is strong enough on its own can still crush when stacked, so tell us how high your boxes are stacked in the warehouse and we will factor that into the board choice.

Information Shoppers Look For

Cookware buyers compare details. Diameter or capacity, material, hob compatibility (gas, electric, ceramic, induction), oven-safe information, dishwasher guidance and any warranty you offer should all be easy to find. Icons on the side panels make these quick to scan.

Include care instructions and a short guide to first use inside the box, either printed on an insert or on a leaflet. It helps the customer get the best from the product and cuts down on complaints from people who used the wrong utensils or heat settings. Barcodes and product codes go on the base or a side panel, positioned for easy scanning at the till. p1 Small kitchen knives sold on the same shelf often use a printed box for knives and blades in the same system.

Ranges, Sizes and Consistent Branding

Most cookware brands sell a range: several frying pan sizes, a few saucepans, a casserole and a set. Using the same design across every box, with only the photo and size changing, makes the range look complete on a shelf and helps shoppers find the size they want.

If your pans come in several colours, a colour band on the box or a coloured sticker can show which version is inside, while the box itself stays the same. That keeps printing costs down and reduces the number of box designs you need to manage.

Leave room in the design for future products. If you plan to add a griddle, a wok or a larger casserole later, a design system that already works across different box shapes makes the new boxes quick to produce and keeps the whole range consistent. p2 Toasters and kettles in the range follow the same design system on our appliance boxes page.

Put the Packed Set on the Scales Before You Send Dimensions

Cookware boxes are specified by weight more than size. A five-piece stainless set with glass lids and a pulp insert can pass 6 kg, which moves it from B-flute to double wall and changes how it stacks on a retailer's shelf. Pack one set as it will ship, with separators and lids in their cradle, weigh it and send that figure with the outside dimensions and the number of sets a month.

Settle the insert next, since it fixes the box depth: corrugated for single pans, pulp for nested sets, a separate cradle for every glass lid. Then send the photography and the hob icons. The custom quote arrives by email within one working day, from £0.25 for the smallest single-pan box, with the minimum set per job.

The free proof shows every panel and the insert layout before printing. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and the boxes reach UK mainland sites by free tracked delivery. Brands whose sets go direct to consumers in the retail box usually pair it with a double wall outer carton for heavy goods.

Cookware Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering cookware boxes.

Which board is strong enough for cast iron?

Heavy cast iron usually needs B-flute or double-wall corrugated. Tell us the packed weight and we will suggest the right board.

How do I stop non-stick pans scratching in a set?

Use protective sheets or pulp separators between nested pans. We can design inserts that keep each pan apart.

How are glass lids protected?

A separate compartment or cradle holds the lid upright and away from metal, preventing chips. Send the lid diameter and knob height so the cradle is cut to it.

Can I print product photos on the box?

Yes. Full colour printing on white-lined corrugated gives sharp, bright product photos.

Can a cookware box have a window to show the pan finish?

Yes. A window in the front panel shows copper, enamel or a coloured exterior, which shoppers like to see before buying. We keep the window inside the insert frame so the corrugated box stays rigid under a heavy pan.

Can the box be shipped direct to customers?

Yes, with stronger board, or place the retail box inside a plain outer carton. Tell us how you ship and we will advise.

Can you add carry handles to large boxes?

Yes. Handle cut-outs in the side panels make heavy sets easier to carry.

What information should go on a cookware box?

Size or capacity, material, hob compatibility, oven and dishwasher guidance, and any warranty. Icons make this quick to scan.

Can I use one design for different pan colours?

Yes. A colour band or sticker can show the version inside, while the box design stays the same.

Are moulded pulp inserts available?

Yes. They cushion well and can be shaped closely around pans. Corrugated inserts are a cheaper option for simpler products.

What does a run of cookware boxes cost?

The price depends on size, board, inserts and print. Prices start from £0.25 per box for simple sizes, and we send a custom quote by email within one working day.
