Custom Massage Oil Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

Custom massage oil boxes are cartons sized to body oil and massage blend bottles, printed to match the calm, careful feel of a spa or treatment room. Therapists and spas use them to retail the oils they use in treatments, and wellness brands use them to hold their own on a crowded beauty shelf.

From the Treatment Room to the Retail Shelf

Many clients ask what oil was used during their massage. Spas and therapists who can hand them a boxed bottle of the same blend turn that question into a sale and a reason to come back. The box makes the oil feel like a product worth buying, not a refill decanted from the back room.

Wellness brands selling through shops and online face a different challenge. Massage and body oils sit beside dozens of similar bottles, often in amber or clear glass with plain labels. A well designed box gives your oil a clear identity and space to explain what makes the blend different.

Either way, the box protects the bottle in transit, stops light reaching the oil and keeps the label clean and readable.

Packaging also helps with pricing. A bottle of oil in a plain label can look like a commodity, while the same bottle in a considered box carries the value of the treatment experience with it. Clients are more comfortable paying a fair price for a product that looks as cared for as the treatment they have just had. Smaller 10 ml and 30 ml blends suit our essential oil boxes for smaller bottles.

Box Styles for Oil Bottles

Tuck end cartons are the simplest and most affordable, sized closely to the bottle. A card insert or neck holder keeps the bottle upright and stops it moving. Sleeve and tray boxes give a more luxurious feel and suit gift sets.

Rigid boxes with magnetic lids work well for premium blends and gift sets with several bottles. Window boxes let shoppers see the colour of the oil, which is attractive for golden or herbal blends. For multi-bottle sets, such as a trio of relaxing, energising and sleep blends, an insert with separate cut-outs holds each bottle apart.

Think about how the bottle comes out. A tuck end with a thumb notch is easy to open in a treatment room, while a tray that slides from a sleeve gives a slower, more considered reveal that suits gifts. If staff will open boxes to use testers, choose a style that recloses neatly so the box can go back on display.

Sizing Custom Massage Oil Boxes

Measure the bottle with its cap, pump or dropper fitted. Pump bottles are much taller than screw caps, and droppers often have a rubber bulb that needs clearance. Add a few millimetres so the bottle slides in easily, and allow for any insert.

Common bottle sizes for massage oil range from small travel bottles to large pump bottles used in treatment rooms and sold for home use. If you sell several sizes, keep the same design across all boxes and change only the size and any colour band.

If the bottle has a shrink seal or tamper band, make sure the box is tall enough that the band is not crushed.

When in doubt, send us one filled bottle. We will measure it ourselves and build the first sample around it. Our guide on how to measure a bottle with its pump explains why the closure sets the height.

Protecting Oil From Light and Leaks

Many plant oils and essential oils are sensitive to light. A box made from solid board with no window keeps light off the bottle while it sits on a shelf. If you want a window, keep it small or use it only on products in amber or cobalt glass.

Oil can seep from caps in warm conditions. An inner coating on the board helps stop oil from soaking through and marking the outside of the box. A small pad in the base of the box or a sealed bag around the bottle adds protection for shipping.

Glass bottles need cushioning if they are shipped. A neck insert or a full card cradle keeps the bottle from hitting the sides of the box. Posted bottles sit in neck collar and cradle inserts cut to the bottle.

Design That Feels Calm

Spa and wellness branding is usually soft and restrained. Muted colours, simple botanical illustrations, plenty of space around text and a clear brand name tend to work better than bright, busy designs. Matt or soft-touch finishes feel gentle in the hand and suit the product.

Foil stamping in gold, rose gold or copper adds a luxury touch. Embossing a botanical pattern or your logo gives a tactile detail that clients notice when they pick up the box. Kraft board with a single colour print suits natural and handmade brands.

Print the blend name and its main benefit clearly on the front, and use the back for ingredients, directions for use and any warnings. Your safety assessor will advise on the information your product needs.

Colour coding by blend helps clients and staff. A soft green for a relaxing blend, a warm amber for a muscle rub and a pale lilac for a sleep blend, for example, make each oil easy to recognise on a shelf and help clients reorder the right one. You can see matt lamination and foil compared in our finish guide.

Retail Tips for Spas and Therapists

Display boxed oils at reception, where clients wait before and after treatments. A tester bottle beside the boxes lets clients smell the blend. Offering the same oil used in the treatment as a take-home product is one of the easiest retail sales a spa can make.

Gift sets give clients an easy present to buy at the desk. A box with a massage oil, a candle and a voucher card makes a thoughtful gift, and the box keeps everything together.

Online sales follow naturally. Clients who enjoyed a treatment often search for the oil later, so print your website clearly on the box and include a small card inviting them to reorder. A box that looks good in a photo also helps when clients share their purchases. Therapists retailing from a treatment room often add a counter display for a treatment room holding six boxes.

Measure With the Pump Up and Tell Us if the Oil Is Light-Sensitive

Massage oil cartons are sized from the closure, so measure the bottle with the pump, dropper or cap fitted and at its full height, plus the widest point of the body. Then tell us whether the blend is sensitive to light, because that decides whether a window is a good idea or whether the box should stay closed with the oil colour shown as a printed swatch instead. Bottles that go by post need a neck insert or a cradle, and an oil-resistant coating on the inside stops a weeping cap from marking the print. Spas selling a few blends usually keep one layout and change a colour band, and present them on a counter display in the treatment room.

Send the bottle size with closure, box style, board, finish and quantity, and a custom quote comes by email within one working day, with low minimums for therapists and small brands. The free proof shows every panel before printing. Boxes are made in 4 to 7 working days after approval and arrive by tracked courier to UK mainland addresses, and misprinted or damaged boxes reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded.

Massage Oil Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering massage oil boxes.

How do I measure my bottle for a box?

Measure with the cap, pump or dropper fitted. Pumps and droppers add height, so a box sized to the bottle alone will be too short.

Will oil leak through the box?

An oil-resistant coating on the board helps stop oil soaking through. A base pad or sealed bag adds protection for shipping.

Should the box have a window?

A window shows the oil colour, but light can affect some oils. Keep windows small, or use them only with amber or cobalt glass.

Can I box several oils together as a gift set?

Yes. An insert with cut-outs holds each bottle apart, and a sleeve and tray or rigid box gives a gift feel.

What finish suits a spa brand?

Matt or soft-touch lamination with a foil logo or embossing gives a calm, premium look.

How should a 100 ml glass massage oil bottle be packed for posting?

Use a neck insert or a full card cradle inside the carton so the bottle never touches the walls, then place the carton in a snug mailer with a little fill. The insert is shown on the free proof so you can check the fit.

What information should be on the box?

The blend name, ingredients, directions for use and any warnings. Your safety assessor will advise on what your product needs.

Can a single therapist order boxes?

Yes. Minimums are low and quoted per job, so independent therapists can retail their own blends.

Can I use one design for several bottle sizes?

Yes. Keep the same design and change only the size and a colour band or label.

Can I add a tamper seal?

Yes. A printed sticker seal across the box opening shows if it has been opened.

Do you make boxes for kraft-style natural brands?

Yes. Kraft board with a single colour print suits natural and handmade wellness brands.
