Custom Magnetic Bumper Stickers
Custom magnetic bumper stickers look like a printed sticker but hold on with a flexible magnetic backing instead of glue, so they can be moved, removed and put back without marking the paintwork. We print them in full colour for promotional giveaways, campaigns, clubs and drivers who like to change their message.

The Sticker That Comes Off Cleanly
Plenty of drivers like the idea of a bumper sticker but not the commitment. A traditional adhesive sticker can be hard to remove, may leave sticky residue and can mark paintwork that has faded around it in the sun. Company car drivers often are not allowed to stick anything on their vehicle at all. A magnetic sticker gets round all of that: it sits flat on any steel panel, stays put on the motorway and lifts off in seconds when the driver wants it gone.
That flexibility makes magnets ideal for messages that change. A supporter puts one on for match days, a parent adds a learner or baby on board style message for a few months, a volunteer driver displays a charity name only while on duty. Each can take it off, store it flat and put it back whenever they need it.
For businesses and organisations, magnets are also a giveaway people actually use, because they do not have to worry about damaging their car. p2 Drivers who want a permanent version use our bumper stickers in adhesive vinyl.
Shapes, Sizes and Print
The classic magnetic bumper sticker is a long rectangle with rounded corners, but magnets can be cut to almost any shape: ovals, circles, shields, ribbons or the outline of a logo. Rounded corners are always recommended, as square corners are easier for wind to catch and lift.
Print is full colour on a white vinyl face laminated to the magnetic sheet. A gloss finish gives vivid colours and a clean, painted look; matt reduces glare and suits understated designs. A UV-resistant laminate helps colours last in strong sunlight.
Keep the design bold. Drivers behind you have only a few seconds to read a bumper message, so a short phrase in large letters with strong contrast works far better than a paragraph. As a rule, if it cannot be read from a couple of car lengths away, it is too small or too busy. Logos with fine detail are best enlarged or simplified for the magnet. p2 The same legibility rule applies to our car stickers for windows and panels.

Choosing Sizes for Custom Magnetic Bumper Stickers
Bumpers on most modern cars are plastic, which magnets do not stick to, so magnetic bumper stickers usually go on the boot lid, tailgate or rear wing, where the panel is steel. Look for a flat or gently curved area; a magnet cannot follow a sharp crease or a tight curve.
Common sizes range from around 200 by 75 mm for a compact message to 300 by 100 mm for a standard bumper-style design. Round and oval magnets of 100 to 150 mm suit logos and badges. Larger magnets offer more visibility but need a larger flat area, so check the vehicles your audience drives before choosing a big size.
If you are not sure, order two sizes. A compact version fits small hatchbacks and a larger one suits estates, vans and SUVs.
Before ordering a large batch for a giveaway, test a sample on a few different cars. A quick check on a hatchback, a family estate and a small van shows whether the size and shape suit the steel areas people actually have, and avoids handing out magnets that only fit some vehicles. p3 The guide to measuring a product covers checking flat areas before sizing.
Magnet Thickness and Grip
Magnetic sheet comes in different thicknesses. Thinner magnets are lighter, cheaper and fine for small designs used around town. Thicker magnets grip more strongly and are better for larger designs and motorway driving. For most bumper stickers, a mid-thickness sheet gives a good balance of grip, flexibility and cost.
Grip depends on contact. A magnet holds best when its whole surface is flat against clean, dry steel. Air gaps, dirt or wax reduce grip, and a magnet placed over a body line or trim may lift at speed.
Magnets also suit fridges, filing cabinets, lockers and metal doors, which makes them a versatile giveaway. A supporter who does not want a sticker on their car may happily put the same magnet on the fridge, so your message still gets seen every day. p2 Hard hats and site lockers take our hard hat stickers in tough vinyl rather than magnets.
Care Tips for Drivers
Clean the panel and the back of the magnet before fitting, and make sure both are dry. Remove the magnet before going through an automatic car wash, and take it off every week or so to clean underneath, which stops moisture and grit becoming trapped against the paint.
Store magnets flat when not in use, never rolled or folded, and avoid leaving them on a very hot panel in full sun for long periods, as heat can soften the magnetic layer. On new paintwork, wait until the paint has fully cured before applying any magnet.
We include a short care card with orders on request, which is handy if you are handing magnets out to customers or supporters. p2 Laminate choices are compared in the guide to print and finish options.
Popular Uses for Magnetic Stickers
Businesses use them as promotional giveaways at shows and in-store, printed with a logo and slogan. Campaigns and charities use them for awareness messages and fundraising. Sports clubs and supporter groups print team crests and slogans. Driving schools, delivery drivers and community transport schemes use them to show temporary information on private cars.
Car owners also order them for personal messages, family notices and humour, enjoying the freedom to change or remove them without leaving a mark.
Event organisers sometimes print magnets for marshals and volunteer drivers, so cars on site can be identified quickly without any permanent branding. When the event is over, the magnets are collected, stored flat and reused the following time.
Test One Magnet on Three Different Cars
Magnetic bumper stickers rarely go on bumpers, because most are plastic; they go on boot lids and tailgates, and the flat steel area there varies by car. Before you order a giveaway run, ask for a single sample in the size you have in mind and try it on a hatchback, an estate and a small van. If it bridges a body line on any of them, drop a size. Send the shape, the size that passed and the quantity.
Keep the message to a few words in large type, because the car behind has two seconds to read it, and ask for a UV laminate if the magnets will live outside all summer. The custom quote arrives by email within one working day, from £0.25 for small magnets, with the minimum set per job.
The free proof shows the cut line and the print; mention any show or campaign date so the proof stage is planned round it. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and the magnets reach UK mainland addresses by free tracked delivery. Businesses that brand a whole vehicle add magnetic signs for car doors in the same artwork.

Magnetic Bumper Stickers Questions
What buyers ask before ordering magnetic bumper stickers.
Will a magnet stick to my bumper?
Most modern bumpers are plastic, so magnets will not stick. Place the magnet on a steel panel such as the boot lid, tailgate or rear wing.
Will it fall off on the motorway?
A magnet on clean, flat steel with full contact holds well at speed. Avoid placing it over body lines or trim, and choose a thicker magnet for larger designs.
Does it leave marks on the paint?
There is no adhesive, so no residue. Remove and clean the magnet and panel regularly to stop grit and moisture becoming trapped.
Can I take it through a car wash?
Remove it before an automatic car wash and put it back once the panel is dry. Brushes can catch an edge and lift it.
What shape works best?
Any shape with rounded corners. Rounded corners are less likely to be lifted by wind than square ones.
How should I store it?
Flat, never rolled or folded, and away from strong heat. A drawer or the glovebox is fine between uses.
Which thickness should I choose?
Mid-thickness suits most bumper stickers. Thicker magnets grip more strongly on larger designs.
Can I use them on new paintwork?
Wait until the paint has fully cured before applying any magnet. Ask the body shop how long that is for their paint system.
How much are magnetic bumper stickers?
Small magnets start from £0.25 each depending on size, thickness and quantity. We email a custom quote within one working day.
Can you include care instructions?
Yes, a short care card can be included with each magnet on request. It covers cleaning, car washes and storage in a few lines.
Can a supporters' club order 50 magnetic bumper stickers?
Yes. Minimums are set per job, so fifty magnets for a club or a single event is a normal order. The price per magnet falls on larger campaign runs, and two sizes can be split within one order.
