Round Hang Tags
Round hang tags are circular swing tags that carry your logo, price and product details on garments, gifts and handmade goods. We print them on thick card in a range of diameters, with holes, eyelets and strings ready to attach.

Why a Circle Works on a Product
A rectangular tag points in one direction and can look stiff on a soft knitted jumper. A circle has no top or bottom, so it hangs neatly whichever way it turns, and its shape is easy to spot on a rail full of square labels. It is a simple way for a small fashion label or gift maker to look distinct without spending on a complex die cut.
Round tags also suit products that are photographed often, such as candles, jars and knitwear, because the shape reads clearly even in a small online thumbnail.
Circular tags also pair well with round logos, stamp-style marks and seals. If your brand mark is already a circle, a tag of the same shape lets the logo sit perfectly centred, with an even border of card around it, which looks far more intentional than a round mark squeezed into a rectangle. Brands often pair them with clothing hang tags so the whole order arrives in one look.
Picking a Diameter
The right size depends on how much you need to say and how large the product is. A 40 mm tag is enough for a logo on a bracelet or a jar neck. A 50 to 60 mm tag gives space for a logo on the front and a price, size and short care note on the back. Larger tags of 70 to 90 mm work for homeware and gift sets where the tag carries a short story about the maker.
Remember the hole takes up space near the edge. Keep important text away from the top few millimetres of the circle.
If you sell across very different products, two diameters are often better than one. A small tag for accessories and a larger tag for clothing or homeware keeps the brand consistent while each item gets a tag that looks in proportion.
Order a printed sample of two sizes side by side if you are unsure. Held against the actual product, the right size is usually obvious within seconds. Where a logo and a full care paragraph both have to fit, a folded hang tag with an inside spread is the sensible alternative.

Card Weight, Texture and Edges
A swing tag should feel solid between the fingers. Thick uncoated card gives a natural, crafted feel and is easy to write on if you add prices by hand. Coated card shows bright colours and photographs well. Kraft card suits rustic and handmade brands. For a premium feel, two sheets can be laminated together for extra thickness, sometimes with a coloured core that shows at the edge.
Uncoated stocks can be stamped with a price gun or written on with pen; gloss-laminated tags cannot, so think about how you price before choosing a finish.
Card colour is another way to be noticed. Black, navy, forest green and deep red cards with white or foil print look striking on a rail of white tags. Coloured cards work well for brands whose logo is a single colour, as the card does much of the visual work. The card stocks are described, with photographs of the edge, in our board and card types explainer.
Round Tags Beyond Clothing
Round tags are used on far more than garments. Candle makers loop them around jar necks with twine. Bakers tie them to bags of biscuits and boxed cakes. Florists attach them to bouquets with a short message on the back. Gift shops use them on hampers, bottles and wrapped presents to carry a price without sticking a label on the item itself.
For bottles and jars, a tag with a larger hole and an elastic loop slides over the neck easily and sits flat against the glass. For bags and boxes, a tag tied with ribbon matches the wrapping and can double as a gift tag with a space to write a name.
Some brands use one round tag design across several product types, simply changing the back text. It keeps print runs larger and cheaper, while the front logo stays identical across the shop. Botanical and skincare brands often pair a round tag on the jar with a leaf-shaped hang tag on the gift bag.
Holes, Eyelets and Attachments
A plain punched hole is enough for string or ribbon. A metal eyelet reinforces the hole so the tag does not tear when pulled, which is worth it for children's clothing and anything that gets handled a lot in a shop. Tags can be supplied loose, or with cotton string, elastic loops or plastic tag fasteners already threaded, saving time on a busy packing day.
Think about how the tag is attached in your workroom. If staff tie tags by hand, cotton string looped through the hole is quick. If you use a tagging gun, a plain hole or eyelet sized for the fastener works best. Telling us your method helps us set the hole size correctly. The eyelet and hole positions are marked on the free proof drawn at actual size so you can see how the tag will hang.
Two-Sided Printing and What to Put Where
Most brands put the logo alone on the front and use the back for practical details: product name, size, price, a care symbol or two, and a website. If each product needs different details, we can print a shared design with a blank area for a sticker or handwriting, or print variable text across a run. Foil stamping a logo on the front and keeping the reverse plain is a neat way to look premium at a low cost.
Keep text at a readable size; very small type on a 40 mm circle is hard to read on a rail.
For a craft fair, a back panel that reads "handmade by" followed by a space for a name or initials adds a personal touch that buyers remember. It is also an easy way for a small team to show who made each item. A back-of-tag layout that works is shared across our printed labels, stickers and tags, so a sticker on the box and the tag on the product can match.
Decide the Diameter by Holding a Coin Against the Product
The quickest way to settle a round tag is to hold coins against the product: a 2p coin is about 26 mm, a 50p about 27 mm, and two side by side give you 50 to 55 mm. Whichever looks in proportion on the garment, candle or jar is your diameter, and if it has to carry a price and a care line as well as a logo, go up one size rather than shrink the type. Then decide how the tag is attached, because a pre-strung tag saves a surprising amount of workroom time. Knitwear brands that also sew in a woven label can match it to printed garment labels in the same colour.
Supply the artwork as a vector with the hole position marked at the top, and keep text 5 mm in from the edge. Email the diameter, card, print sides, finish and attachment and a custom quote comes back within one working day with a free design proof after it. Tags are printed in 4 to 7 working days once approved and delivered free and tracked on the UK mainland in 2 to 3 days. Tags with a print fault reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded.

Round Hang Tags Questions
What buyers ask before ordering round hang tags.
What size round tag should I choose for clothing?
A 50 or 60 mm tag suits most garments. It gives room for a logo on the front and size, price and care details on the back.
Can I write prices on the tag by hand?
Yes, on uncoated or kraft card. Laminated finishes resist pen and price stamps, so choose an uncoated back if you price by hand.
Do I need an eyelet?
An eyelet stops the hole tearing when the tag is pulled. It is worth adding for children's wear and products handled often in a shop.
Can round tags arrive with string already threaded?
Yes. We supply tags with cotton string, elastic loops or plastic fasteners already threaded through the hole or eyelet, ready to attach. Pre-strung tags cost a little more per tag but save the time it takes to thread each one by hand.
Can each tag show a different product name?
We can print variable text across a run, or print a shared design with a blank panel for stickers or handwriting.
Is a thick tag worth the extra?
Double-thickness card feels noticeably more premium and resists bending. It suits higher-priced items where the tag shapes first impressions.
How close to the hole can I place text?
Keep text at least a few millimetres clear of the hole. The free proof shows the hole position so you can check spacing.
Can I get foil on a kraft tag?
Yes. Gold, copper and black foils show well on kraft card and give a crafted, premium look.
What does a short run of round tags cost?
Tags start from £0.25 each on smaller runs. Send your size and finish and we will reply with a custom quote within one working day.
Can tags be ready for a new collection going on the rail?
Production is 4 to 7 working days after proof approval, then free tracked delivery to the UK mainland takes 2 to 3 working days.
