Custom Bumper Stickers
Custom bumper stickers are outdoor vinyl stickers made to sit on a car bumper, rear window or van door and stay readable through rain, sun and car washes. Clubs, campaigns, businesses and bands use them to put a short message in front of a steady stream of drivers every day.

A Message That Travels
A bumper sticker is one of the few pieces of print that moves around on its own. Once it is on a car, it goes to the supermarket, the school gate, the motorway services and the car park at work. Every queue at a junction gives the driver behind a few seconds to read it. For a business, a cause or a club, that is constant, low-cost exposure in places a leaflet would never reach.
The best bumper stickers are short. A driver has a moment to take in the words, so a slogan of a few words, a logo and perhaps a web address is about the limit. Anything longer becomes a blur at a distance.
Bumper stickers also carry personality. Supporters of a football club, a surf shop or a charity run put them on their cars because they want to say something about themselves. That makes them an easy item to give away or sell as merchandise. A message that moves is the same reason firms choose car stickers for business fleets, which use the same vinyl in larger panels.
Vinyl, Inks and Laminate for Outdoor Use
Car stickers face harder conditions than almost any other label. They are rained on, baked in the sun, splashed with road grime and scrubbed in car washes. Paper stickers fail quickly. Our bumper stickers are printed on outdoor-grade vinyl with fade-resistant inks, and a clear laminate protects the print from scratches and washing.
The adhesive matters too. A permanent adhesive holds firmly on painted metal and plastic bumpers. A removable adhesive peels away more cleanly when the sticker is no longer wanted, which suits campaign stickers and lease cars. Tell us which you prefer and we match the vinyl to it.
For rear windows, a sticker can be printed to be read from outside the glass, or a static cling version can be used on the inside of the window. Static cling uses no glue at all, so it can be moved or removed easily.
Thickness is worth a thought as well. Standard vinyl conforms well to gently curved bumpers, while a thinner, more flexible vinyl wraps around tighter curves without lifting at the edges, which is where most car stickers start to peel.
- White gloss vinyl for bright full colour printing
- Clear vinyl so the car paint shows around the design
- Reflective vinyl for night-time visibility
- Removable adhesive vinyl for temporary campaigns
- Static cling for inside window placement

Sizes and Shapes for Custom Bumper Stickers
The classic bumper sticker is a long rectangle around 300 x 75 mm, which fits neatly on most bumpers and leaves room for a slogan in large type. Smaller rectangles and ovals suit rear windows and van doors. Square and circular stickers work well for logos.
Die-cut stickers follow the outline of a logo or illustration, with no rectangle around it. They look more professional and are popular for brand merchandise and band stickers. Kiss-cut stickers stay on a backing sheet with the shape cut through the vinyl only, making them easier to peel.
Before picking a size, look at where the sticker will actually go. Modern bumpers have curves, sensors and textured sections, so a slightly smaller sticker often fits better than a full-length one. Shapes beyond the rectangle are cut the way our die-cut sticker shapes are, from a vector outline with a small bleed.
Designing a Sticker Drivers Can Read
Contrast is everything. Dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark background, reads at a distance; mid-tones against mid-tones do not. Use a bold, simple typeface and keep the words to a minimum.
If you include a web address or social handle, make it short and large. QR codes are hard to scan from a moving car, but they can work on stickers for parked vans, shop windows or merchandise.
For campaigns, a single strong colour used across all stickers, posters and leaflets makes the message recognisable instantly, even before the words are read.
Test your design by printing it at full size, sticking it to a wall and stepping back several metres. If you cannot read it comfortably from there, a driver behind a car certainly will not. Enlarging the main words and removing secondary text usually fixes the problem.
Think about the car colour too. A white sticker shows up on dark cars, while a dark sticker reads better on silver and white cars, which are among the most common on the road. If supporters drive all sorts of cars, a sticker with its own solid background works everywhere. The four-metre test also works for water bottle stickers, though there the viewer is much closer and smaller type survives.
Who Orders Printed Bumper Stickers
Sports clubs and supporters' groups, charities and fundraising events, community and political campaigns, local businesses such as driving schools, garages, dog groomers and tradespeople, bands and musicians selling merchandise, surf and skate shops, car clubs and event organisers all use bumper stickers.
Businesses sometimes give them to customers with a small reward for displaying them, turning loyal customers into moving adverts. Charities hand them out at events so supporters can show their backing.
Event organisers use them as a souvenir of a car show, a charity drive or a festival, and fleet operators sometimes add a small sticker with a contact number or a safety message to every vehicle. Campaigners who want a sticker that comes off cleanly after a season should look at magnetic bumper stickers instead.
Applying and Removing Stickers
Clean the surface with soapy water, dry it thoroughly and apply the sticker on a mild, dry day. Peel back a small part of the backing, line up the sticker, press it down and smooth outwards with a card to push out air bubbles. Avoid car washes for a couple of days so the adhesive can settle.
To remove a sticker, warm it gently with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any residue can be cleaned off with a mild adhesive remover safe for car paint. Removal tips and which adhesives peel cleanly are covered in the finish and material comparison.
Read the Slogan From Four Metres Away
Before you send artwork, print it at the finished size, stick it on a wall and step back four metres, roughly the gap between two cars at the lights. If you cannot read the main line, the type is too small or the contrast too weak. A bumper sticker has one job: a message read in two seconds by a driver who did not choose to look at it. Cut the words until that test passes.
Then send the artwork, the size, the shape and the quantity, and a quote arrives by email within one working day with minimums set per job. The free proof shows the cut line and the laminate area. Stickers are printed in 4 to 7 working days after approval and delivered by tracked courier at no charge within UK mainland; faults reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded. Businesses that want the same message on a van door without adhesive usually add magnetic signs for car doors in the same artwork.

Bumper Stickers Questions
What buyers ask before ordering bumper stickers.
Will the stickers survive car washes?
Yes, they are printed on outdoor vinyl with a clear protective laminate, which resists scrubbing and water. Avoid washing the car for a couple of days after applying so the adhesive settles.
Will the print fade in the sun?
We use inks designed for outdoor use and a laminate that slows fading. Any outdoor sticker fades eventually, but these hold their colour far longer than paper labels.
Can the sticker be removed without damaging paint?
Removable adhesive vinyl peels away more cleanly. Warm the sticker with a hairdryer and peel slowly. Permanent vinyl holds more firmly and may need adhesive remover.
Can I put a sticker inside my rear window?
Yes, we can print a reverse-printed sticker for the inside of the glass, or use static cling, which needs no adhesive.
What is the most common bumper sticker size?
Around 300 x 75 mm is the classic size, but measure your bumper first because curves and sensors can limit space.
Can stickers be cut to the shape of my logo?
Yes, die-cut stickers follow the outline of your design. Kiss-cut stickers stay on a backing sheet for easier peeling.
Is clear vinyl a good choice?
Clear vinyl lets the car paint show around the design, which looks neat on dark or light cars. White ink can be printed underneath colours so they stay bright.
Can I order several slogans in one order?
Yes, multiple designs can be printed in one run, which suits campaigns and merchandise ranges.
Do you make reflective stickers?
Yes, reflective vinyl catches headlights at night. It suits safety messages, cycling clubs and service vehicles.
Can I sell these stickers as merchandise?
Yes, many bands, clubs and shops do. We can supply them individually backed so they are ready to sell.
What do I need to send for a bumper sticker price?
The size, the shape, a clear or white vinyl, the quantity and how many slogans you need. Artwork can be a finished PDF or a sketch with the wording; we draw the cut line either way. If the stickers go on a fleet, say so, because we can add a removable adhesive.
