Custom Round Pizza Boxes
Custom round pizza boxes follow the shape of the pizza instead of hiding it in a square, so there are no empty corners for the base to slide into and the box itself becomes part of your brand. We make them in printed corrugated board with steam vents and a secure lid, sized to your pizzas.

Why a Round Box for a Round Pizza
The square pizza box exists because squares are easy to fold, not because pizzas are square. In a square box, a round pizza has four empty corners to slide into whenever the box is tilted, which is how toppings end up stuck to one side. A round box holds the pizza closely all the way around, so it stays centred from the oven to the table.
There is a branding reason too. Almost every pizzeria uses a square box, often a stock design with a generic chef or a tomato on the lid. A round box is noticed the moment it is carried through a door. Customers remember it, photograph it and associate it with your name. For a neighbourhood pizzeria competing with national chains, that difference is valuable.
Round boxes also suit the way people eat pizza at home. Opened on a table or a sofa, a round lid folds back neatly and the slices sit in a tidy circle rather than in a large square with awkward corners. Some pizzerias design the lid so it tears off along a perforation and becomes a sharing plate, a small touch that customers often mention. p2 Pizzerias that keep a square option for sides can see it on our custom pizza boxes page.
How Custom Round Pizza Boxes Are Built
Round pizza boxes are usually made from corrugated board, die-cut into a polygon with many short sides so it reads as a circle once folded. The base and lid are joined at a hinge and close with a tuck or a locking tab. Some designs use two separate pieces, a base and a lid that sits over it, which suits premium or gift pizzas.
Corrugated board is essential because pizzas are hot, heavy and often stacked. The flutes in the board trap air, which insulates the pizza and stops the bottom box being crushed under the ones above it. E-flute gives a smooth surface for sharp printing, and B-flute adds strength for larger, heavier pizzas. p1 The flute grades are explained in the guide to board and card types.

Steam Vents and Crispness
A hot pizza releases steam, and trapped steam makes the crust soggy. Round pizza boxes include small vents cut into the lid or rim that let moisture escape while keeping most of the heat in. The number and size of the vents depend on the pizza: a thin Neapolitan base needs more venting than a thick pan pizza that holds its structure.
A grease-resistant liner or a coated inner surface stops oil from soaking into the board. It keeps the print clean on the outside and the box strong enough to carry. For particularly oily pizzas, a separate pizza box liner adds another layer of protection without changing the box itself.
Sizes That Match Your Menu
Round boxes are sized by internal diameter, which should be a few millimetres larger than your pizza. Measure your largest pizza of each size straight out of the oven, because dough spreads slightly as it cooks. Then decide on the internal height, which needs to clear the tallest toppings without leaving the pizza swimming in space.
Most pizzerias run three or four sizes, from a personal pizza to a large sharing size. If you also sell sides, consider whether a matching smaller round box could hold garlic bread or dough balls, which keeps the whole order looking consistent.
Delivery bags and riders' boxes are worth checking as well. A round box takes up a little less room than a square box of the same diameter, but delivery bags are designed around squares. Measure the inside of your bags and tell us, so we can make sure your largest round box still slides in flat and your riders are not forced to tilt pizzas on the way. p2 The guide to measuring a product covers working from a container size backwards.
Printing on the Lid and Beyond
The lid is a large, circular canvas, and that shape changes how a design works. A logo in the centre with text curving around the edge looks natural on a round box. Radial patterns, such as slices, sun rays or a clock face, take advantage of the circle in a way that a square box cannot.
The rim and the inside of the lid offer extra space. Many pizzerias print their phone number and ordering website on the rim, so the box carries a reminder for the next order. The inside lid can carry a thank-you message, an offer code or a short story about your dough or ingredients.
White board gives bright colours, while kraft corrugated suits rustic, wood-fired brands and hides small marks from handling. One or two colour print on kraft is very cost-effective and looks confident. p2 Eight-sided boxes that fold more easily are shown on our octagonal pizza boxes page.
Food Contact and Practical Details
Food-contact grade board is available on request for the inner surface where the pizza sits. The outside can be printed with food-appropriate inks, and the inside left plain or coated depending on the pizza.
Think about how the boxes will be stored. Round pizza boxes arrive flat and fold up quickly, but staff need space to fold them before a busy service. If storage in your kitchen is tight, we can quote the order in smaller batches so you are not overwhelmed with stock. p1 Pizzerias with a white lid design can see the finish on our white pizza boxes page.
Measure the Inside of Your Delivery Bags First
Round pizza boxes are sized to the pizza, but they live in delivery bags built for squares, and the one call we get after a first order is from a rider whose largest box will not lie flat. Measure the inside of your bags first, then measure your largest baked pizza of each size straight from the oven, since dough spreads as it cooks, and add a few millimetres. Send the topping height as well so the lid clears a loaded pizza.
Decide the vent pattern from the base: thin and crisp needs more vents, thick crust fewer. Choose kraft for a wood-fired look or white for bold colour, and put the phone number on the rim. The custom quote arrives by email within one working day, from £0.25 on larger runs, with the minimum set per job.
The free proof shows the lid design on the circular dieline. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and the flat boxes reach UK mainland addresses by free tracked delivery; we can split the order into batches if storage is tight. Pizzerias that sell by the slice add wedge boxes for single slices in the same print.

Round Pizza Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering round pizza boxes.
Are round pizza boxes as strong as square ones?
Yes, when made from corrugated board. The many short sides give a rigid rim, and the board protects the pizza just as well as a square box.
Do round boxes stack well?
They stack neatly when the lids are flat. We reinforce the rim on larger sizes so the bottom box is not crushed.
How many vents does a round box need?
It depends on the pizza style. Thin, crisp bases need more venting; thick crusts need fewer. We suggest a pattern when you tell us your style.
What diameter should I order?
Choose an internal diameter a few millimetres larger than your largest baked pizza of each size. Measure straight from the oven.
Can the inside of a round pizza box lid be printed?
Yes. The inside of the lid is seen every time the box opens on a table, so a thank-you note, an offer code or the ordering website prints well there. We keep it clear of the vents and use food-appropriate inks.
Will pizza oil soak through a round corrugated box?
Not with a grease-resistant inner coating or a paper liner under the pizza, which keeps oil off the board so the outside print stays clean. Very oily toppings suit a liner as well as the coating.
Are round boxes harder to fold?
They take a little practice at first, but staff quickly get used to them. Locking tabs make closing fast and secure.
Can I get matching boxes for sides?
Yes. A smaller round box can hold garlic bread or dough balls, and we can match the artwork across the range.
Is kraft or white board better for a round pizza box?
Kraft suits rustic and wood-fired brands, hides handling marks and keeps one-colour print cheap. White board gives brighter colours for bold, modern designs and photographs more cleanly, which matters if the box appears on social media.
Can I order a few sizes in one go?
Of course. Most pizzerias order three or four sizes together, and we quote each size separately.
Do boxes arrive flat?
Yes. Round pizza boxes are delivered flat and folded up as needed, which saves storage space in a busy kitchen.
