Custom Slider Burger Boxes
Custom slider burger boxes are small clamshells, trays and sleeves made for mini burgers that are served on the move: at weddings, product launches, food festivals and tasting menus. We size them to your bun, print them with your brand and offer grease-resistant board so they look as good at the last canapé round as the first.

Small Burgers, Different Packaging Problems
A slider is not just a smaller burger. It is usually eaten standing up, often with a drink in the other hand, and handed out from a tray rather than ordered at a counter. A full-size burger box is far too big for it: the slider slides around, the bun tips over and the whole thing looks lost. Slider packaging has to hold a small bun upright, keep the filling in place and be easy to pick up with two fingers.
Presentation matters more at events than at a takeaway counter. Caterers want a tray of identical boxes or sleeves that looks crisp on a serving platter and in photographs. Brands running launch events want their logo on every slider that leaves the kitchen, because guests post pictures of food far more often than pictures of banners.
There is also the speed of service. At a busy reception, staff may hand out hundreds of sliders in a short window, so boxes need to be pre-assembled, stackable and quick to fill without fiddly folding at the pass. A standard printed burger box for a full-size bun is too deep for a slider and lets it slide about, which is why the small formats exist.
Styles for Platters, Stalls and Tasting Menus
Mini clamshells are the most familiar format. They close over the slider, protect it from a breeze and can be stacked on a tray. Open trays and boats show the slider off and suit plated service at tasting events. Sleeves wrap around the bun and filling, leaving top and bottom visible, and work well when sliders are served on boards or skewers.
Multi-slider boxes are popular at food festivals, where people buy two or three different sliders as a tasting set. A divided box keeps each one separate and makes it easy to label the flavours. For a single slider served at a counter rather than on a platter, the small burger boxes with a hinged lid close more securely.

Sizing Custom Slider Burger Boxes to the Bun
Most slider buns are between 50 and 70 mm across once baked, and a finished slider with patty, cheese and toppings stands 50 to 70 mm tall. A single slider clamshell around 75 to 80 mm square and 70 mm deep holds that comfortably. Brioche buns rise higher than a classic soft roll, so measure your actual bun after baking rather than the dough weight.
If you use a skewer or cocktail stick to hold the slider together, add height for it or plan for a sleeve, which leaves the top open. For tasting boxes, measure the width of the sliders side by side, add a few millimetres for each divider and allow a little space at each end so guests can lift them out without squashing their neighbours.
Send us one slider photographed beside a ruler, or the dimensions of the bun and the finished height. That is enough for us to draw a dieline and show the fit on the proof. The clearance we add to a measured bun is the same as for the larger clamshell burger boxes with vent holes.
Board, Grease and Heat
Sliders are hot, juicy and often sauced, so board choice is important. A grease-resistant board stops oil seeping through and spoiling the print, and a coated inner face helps the box stay firm when steam builds up inside. Food-contact grade board is available on request.
White board gives clean, bright print that suits premium caterers and brand events. Kraft board suits street food traders and gives a warm, rustic look that hides small marks. For very saucy fillings, a sheet of printed greaseproof wrap inside the box or around the slider adds another layer of protection and another place to put your logo.
Venting is worth a thought. A small vent hole or a slightly loose lid stops steam softening the bun when sliders are held in a hot box before service. A square of printed greaseproof paper under each slider keeps a kraft box clean on the inside.
Branding That Works at Bite Size
Small boxes need simple artwork. A logo on the lid, a pattern on the sides and perhaps a flavour name on the front is usually enough. Fine text and detailed illustrations get lost on a box barely wider than a coaster. Bold colour blocks, a strong icon and a single line of copy photograph far better.
For brand activations, consider printing a short message or a social handle inside the lid. Guests open the box, see the message, and many will share it. Caterers often print a neutral design with their own name and then add event-specific stickers, which keeps stock flexible across different clients.
Colour coding is a practical trick at tasting events. Different coloured sleeves or stickers for beef, chicken and vegetarian sliders help serving staff and guests tell them apart at a glance, which reduces mix-ups with dietary needs. The free proof laid out on the small dieline shows how little room there is, which is the best cure for an overcrowded lid.
Practical Tips for Event Service
Assemble boxes before the event and stack them in their trays, ready to fill. Keep them away from steam and sinks so they stay crisp. If sliders are carried through a crowd, a clamshell with a locking tab is safer than an open tray; for seated tasting menus, open trays or sleeves look more refined.
Order a few spare boxes beyond your guest count. At most events some boxes are damaged during set-up and a few guests come back for seconds. Having spares saves staff improvising with napkins at the busiest moment of the night.
Think about where empty boxes go. At standing receptions, guests often leave them on window ledges and tables, so place a few discreet collection points and brief staff to clear them regularly. A tidy room keeps your branding looking intentional rather than scattered, and makes the clean-up at the end of the night far quicker for everyone. Caterers who also serve chips at the same event pick a matching tray from our hot food takeaway packaging range.
Size the Box to the Skewer, Not the Slider
Most slider box orders go wrong on height. Build a slider exactly as it will be served, with the cocktail stick or skewer in place if you use one, and measure from the base to the top of the stick. That figure, plus 5 mm, is the inside height you need from a clamshell, or it tells you that a sleeve or an open boat is the better choice because the stick can poke above it. Measure the bun across its widest point for the footprint. If you sell them in threes, decide the order of flavours now so the dividers can be printed with the names. Single sliders in a card boat use the same board as our paper food boats for hot snacks.
Prepare a logo for the lid and a one-line message for the inside if it is a brand event. Email the slider size, style, quantity and event date; a custom quote comes back within one working day and a free design proof after it. Boxes print in 4 to 7 working days after approval and arrive flat, free and tracked, on the UK mainland in 2 to 3 days. Misprinted or crushed boxes reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded.

Slider Burger Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering slider burger boxes.
What size box fits a standard slider?
A single slider clamshell around 80 mm square and 70 mm deep fits most sliders with a 50 to 70 mm bun. We confirm the size from your own bun measurements.
Can I get a box for three different sliders?
Yes. Tasting boxes hold two, three or four sliders with card dividers, and the lid can show each flavour.
Will grease come through the board?
Choose a grease-resistant board or coated inner face and grease stays inside. A printed greaseproof wrap adds another layer for saucy fillings.
What if my sliders use a cocktail stick?
Allow extra height in a clamshell or choose a sleeve, which leaves the top open so the stick stands up freely. Measure to the top of the stick, not the bun.
Can I print event details on the boxes?
Yes, but many caterers print a neutral branded box and add event stickers, so one stock suits every client. A short run with a date is practical for a single large event.
How do I tell vegetarian and meat sliders apart?
Use colour-coded sleeves or stickers, or print the flavour on the front panel. It helps staff and guests with dietary needs.
Do the boxes stack on a serving tray?
Clamshells stack neatly once closed. Open trays and sleeves sit side by side on platters and are best not stacked once filled.
Do sliders go soggy in a closed box?
Steam can soften a bun if boxes are held hot for a long time. A small vent hole or a slightly loose lid helps.
How much are slider boxes?
Small slider boxes start from £0.25 each, depending on size, board and quantity. You receive a custom quote by email within one working day.
Can I order just enough for one event?
Yes. Minimums are low and quoted per job. Add a few spares for set-up damage and second helpings.
A wedding is in five weeks. Is that enough time for printed slider boxes?
Yes, if the artwork is ready in the first week. Production takes four to seven working days after proof approval and free tracked delivery two to three working days more, which leaves time for a round of changes to the names or the date on the lid.
