Custom Pyjama Boxes
Custom pyjama boxes are flat, lidded gift boxes made to hold a folded pyjama or loungewear set in tissue, so it arrives crisp, uncreased and ready to give. We make them for sleepwear brands, boutiques and gift buyers in rigid and folding styles, printed with your branding and sized to your garments.

Pyjamas Are Bought as Gifts
A great many pyjama sets are bought for someone else. They are a classic present for birthdays, new parents, hospital stays, bridal parties and simple treats, and that changes what the packaging needs to do. A set folded into a polybag might be fine for a self-purchase, but as a gift it needs wrapping. A pyjama box removes that step. The set is already presented, the lid lifts off to reveal tissue and neatly folded fabric, and the giver can hand it over as it is.
For brands, the box is a strong part of the product. A silk or brushed cotton set in a smart box feels like a considered gift and supports a higher price. It also gives online shoppers confidence that what arrives will look good enough to give, which is a common question for sleepwear bought as a present.
Matching family sets are another reason pyjama boxes have become popular. When a brand sells adult and children's pyjamas in the same print, a set of boxes in graduated sizes, all in the same design, makes a lovely bundle. Grandparents ordering for the whole family can give each person their own box, and the brand gets several branded boxes in one home instead of one. A larger outer box that holds two or three smaller ones turns the bundle into a single gift. Camisole and slip sets sold beside the pyjamas use the shallower lingerie boxes with a lift-off lid.
Box Styles for Sleepwear
Pyjama boxes are generally flat and wide, with modest depth. These styles suit sleepwear best:
- Two-piece rigid box with a deep lift-off lid, the classic sleepwear gift box
- Two-piece folding box that arrives flat and assembles in seconds
- Magnetic flap box for premium silk and satin sets
- Box with a printed sleeve that slides over a plain base and lid
- Mailer box with a printed inside, for sets posted direct
- Box with a window in the lid showing the fabric pattern

Folding and Sizing Pyjama Sets
The best way to size a pyjama box is to fold a set exactly as you want customers to see it. Most brands fold the top with the collar and front facing up and the trousers folded underneath, all wrapped in tissue. Measure that folded bundle for length, width and height, and add 5 to 10 mm on each side so the set goes in without being squashed.
Shorts sets and camisole sets fold smaller than full-length pyjamas, while brushed cotton and flannel sets are thicker than silk or satin. If you sell a range of fabrics and styles, two or three box depths with the same footprint will usually cover everything, which keeps your stock simple and your display uniform. Children's sets can often share a smaller box footprint.
Fabric behaviour matters when you fold. Silk and satin slide and crease if they are packed loosely, so a snug box and a sheet of tissue between the top and trousers keeps them smooth. Brushed cotton and fleece are springy and push against the lid, so give them a few extra millimetres of depth or the lid will sit proud. Fold a sample of each fabric you sell and leave it in a test box overnight; you will see quickly whether the size is right. Our guide to measuring folded garments covers tissue and depth allowances.
Custom Pyjama Boxes in Rigid or Folding Board
Rigid boxes are made from thick greyboard wrapped in printed or coloured paper. They feel solid and luxurious, keep their shape when stacked and are often reused for storage. They arrive made up, so they need shelf space in your workroom. Folding boxes are made from lighter board that arrives flat and folds into shape. They are lighter to post, take less storage and still look smart, especially with a good finish.
Many sleepwear brands choose rigid boxes for their premium lines and gift sets, and folding boxes for everyday sets sold online. Using the same colours and logo on both keeps the brand consistent. Shirts from the same brand go in the slimmer shirt boxes with a collar support in the same wrap.
Colours, Patterns and Finishes
Sleepwear packaging tends to feel calm and cosy. Soft neutrals, pastels, deep navy and forest green are popular, as are patterns taken from your fabrics, such as stripes, florals or stars. A pattern repeated on the lid, with a plain base, looks considered without being busy. Printing inside the lid with a short line about rest or comfort makes a nice moment when the box is opened.
A matt or soft-touch finish suits the feel of sleepwear and makes the box pleasant to hold. Foil stamping on the logo adds a gift-worthy shine, and embossing can add texture to a monogram. A ribbon tied around the box or a belly band printed with the set name adds a final touch for gift orders. The board and finish comparison page shows soft-touch next to matt on a printed lid.
Tissue, Cards and Inserts
Inside the box, branded tissue paper wraps the set and protects it from dust and handling. A sticker seals the tissue. A small card can carry care instructions, sizing information or a gift message, and some brands add a matching eye mask or scrunchie as a small extra. A card insert with a slot can hold these extras neatly so they do not slide under the set.
If the box is going into the post, it needs to sit inside an outer mailer or be a sturdy mailer box itself. We can size the outer to fit the pyjama box closely so it does not move in transit.
Fold a Set, Wrap It, and Leave It Overnight
The only reliable way to size a pyjama box is to fold a real set the way customers will see it, wrap it in tissue and measure the bundle, then leave it in a test box overnight. Flannel springs back and pushes the lid proud; silk settles and slides. That test shows if the 70 mm or 90 mm depth is right. Keep one footprint across the range and vary only the depth, so adult, shorts and children's sets look like one collection on the shelf.
Send the folded sizes for each fabric, the style you prefer, rigid or folding, and the finish, and a custom quote comes back by email within one working day with minimums quoted per job. The free proof shows the lid, base and any inside print. Production takes 4–7 working days after approval and tracked delivery to UK mainland addresses is free, taking 2–3 working days; rigid boxes arrive built, folding ones flat. Boxes that arrive misprinted or damaged are reprinted or refunded when reported within 10 days. Robes sold with the set usually need the deeper blanket boxes for bulky textiles.

Pyjama Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering pyjama boxes.
How do I measure for a pyjama box?
Fold the set as you want it presented, wrap it in tissue and measure length, width and height. Add 5 to 10 mm on each side for easy packing.
Rigid or folding box for pyjamas?
Rigid boxes feel more luxurious and suit premium and gift sets. Folding boxes arrive flat, save storage and are lighter to post.
Can one box size fit different pyjama styles?
Often, yes. Keeping one footprint with two or three depths covers most cotton, silk and flannel sets.
Can the box have a window to show the fabric?
Yes. A window in the lid shows the pattern or colour of the set without opening the box. Fold the set so the print, not a seam, sits behind the film.
Can you print our fabric pattern on the box?
Yes. Send us the pattern file and we can repeat it across the lid, with the base kept plain or printed in a matching colour.
Do you supply tissue and stickers?
Yes. Branded tissue paper, logo stickers and printed cards can be added to the same order. The tissue is cut to wrap a folded set in one sheet.
Can a pyjama box be posted?
A printed mailer box can be posted on its own. Rigid gift boxes should travel inside an outer mailer sized to fit.
Can I add a slot for an eye mask or scrunchie?
Yes. A card insert with a slot holds small extras neatly beside or on top of the folded set. It stops them sliding under the pyjamas in transit.
Which finish suits sleepwear packaging?
Matt or soft-touch finishes feel calm and cosy, matching the feel of sleepwear. Foil on the logo adds a gift-ready touch.
Can I order matching boxes for adult and children's sets?
Yes. We can make graduated sizes in the same design in one order, so family sets look like a collection. A larger outer box can hold several smaller ones for a bundle gift.
How much do pyjama boxes cost?
Folding boxes start from £0.25 each, and rigid boxes are priced by size and finish. We send a custom quote within one working day.
