Custom Baguette Sandwich Boxes
Custom baguette sandwich boxes are long, narrow cartons with a clear window that shows off the filling while protecting a crusty roll from being squashed in the chiller. They let sandwich bars and bakeries stock a grab-and-go cabinet without wrapping each roll by hand, and every box carries your name to the customer's desk.

Why a Baguette Needs Its Own Shape
A filled baguette is long, narrow and prone to collapse. Wrapped in film, it sweats and the crust goes soft. Slipped into a paper bag, it bends and the filling escapes from the ends. Standard square sandwich wedges simply do not fit it.
A baguette box mirrors the shape of the roll. The long base supports it from end to end, the sides stop it rolling, and the closed lid keeps it from being crushed by other items in the chiller or in a lunch bag. The bread keeps its texture and the sandwich arrives looking as it did on the counter.
For bakeries and sandwich bars that make baguettes in the morning and sell them through lunch, the right box saves time, reduces waste and makes the display cabinet look far more organised.
Speed is a hidden benefit. Folding a box and dropping a baguette in takes seconds, while wrapping in film or paper and taping it closed takes far longer. During the morning prep window, when dozens of sandwiches need packing before the doors open, that difference matters. For hot filled rolls, a clamshell box with steam vents is often the better format.
Windows That Sell the Filling
In a grab-and-go cabinet, customers choose with their eyes. A window running along the lid or the front panel shows the layers of ham, brie, salad or chicken, and that visual appeal does more to sell a sandwich than any label.
Windows are lined with clear film so the contents stay protected. A long rectangular window shows the full length of the filling; a shaped window, such as a leaf or a stylised baguette outline, adds personality while still showing enough of the sandwich.
If you sell hot baguettes, a smaller window or none at all can help, because steam condenses on the film. In that case a printed lid with the filling name in large type works better.
Position the window to suit the cabinet. If boxes lie flat on a shelf, a lid window is ideal. If they are stacked on their sides to save space, a front-panel window keeps the filling visible from the customer side of the counter.

Half, Full and Sharing Lengths
Baguette sizes vary from bakery to bakery. A half baguette for a single lunch is the most common, but some shops sell full-length sticks for sharing or large appetites, and others sell petit pains or mini baguettes for snacks.
Measure your actual rolls after filling, including the height of the filling and any wrap or paper inside. We size the box with enough length so the ends are not pressed against the walls and enough height that the lid closes without flattening the bread.
Two sizes, a half and a full, cover most menus. Mini baguettes for catering platters can go in a shorter box or several to a tray.
If you also sell wraps, paninis or ciabatta, check their dimensions at the same time. A slightly adjusted baguette box can sometimes cover a ciabatta as well, which means one fewer item to stock. Our guide on how to measure a filled baguette correctly shows where to allow for the crust.
Board, Liners and Food Contact
Baguette boxes are usually made from folding board with a grease-resistant coating on the inside, which stops dressings and oils from marking the carton. Kraft board gives an artisan bakery look; white board shows bright branding and food photography.
Many sandwich makers line the box with a sheet of greaseproof or wax paper, which keeps the crust from sticking and makes the presentation feel more crafted. Food-contact grade board is available on request if the baguette will sit directly on the carton.
For chilled sandwiches, a box that closes firmly with a tuck or lock keeps the roll from drying out in the cabinet airflow.
Ask for a sample pack and run it through a normal day. A box filled at seven in the morning and opened at lunchtime shows whether the coating holds up to your dressings and whether the closure stays shut in the cabinet. Many bakeries pair the box with wax paper bags for the crust so the bread does not dry out in a chiller.
Labels, Allergens and Branding
Pre-packed sandwiches made on the premises need full ingredient labelling with allergens emphasised. Most shops use a printed sticker for each variety and keep the box design itself generic, so one carton serves the whole menu.
Design the box with a clear space for that sticker, ideally on the side or end where it does not cover the window. Your logo, social handle and a short line about your bread can sit on the remaining panels.
If you have a signature baguette that sells every day, consider a dedicated printed box with the name built into the design. It looks premium and saves labelling one product.
Colour coding is a simple trick for busy cabinets. A coloured dot or band on the label for meat, fish and vegetarian options helps customers find their choice quickly and reduces questions at the till.
Sandwich Bars, Bakeries and Caterers
Sandwich bars and lunch counters are the main buyers, packing baguettes for office workers and commuters. Artisan bakeries use them for filled baguettes sold alongside loaves and pastries, and farm shops sell local cheese and ham baguettes in branded boxes.
Corporate caterers deliver boxed baguettes for meetings and training days, where an individual box is easier to hand out than a shared platter. Station kiosks, hospital cafés and university canteens also stock pre-packed baguettes in chilled cabinets.
Event caterers find them handy for working lunches at conferences, where each delegate picks up a named or labelled box.
Delivery-led sandwich businesses also favour boxes over wraps, because a closed carton stacks safely in an insulated bag and arrives in one piece at the office reception. Caterers supplying platters tend to add lidded catering boxes for platters in the same print.
Fill a Baguette, Then Measure It
A baguette box is sized from the finished sandwich, not the empty roll. Fill one as generously as you sell it, with its liner, then measure the length, the width across the widest filling and the height to the top of the crust. Do the same for a half and a sharing length if you sell them. Those three numbers decide the box, and whether the window should sit on the lid or run along the side. If most sandwiches are sold hot, say so, because a vented clamshell style box may suit better than a windowed lid that steams up.
Send the measurements with your logo and the number of fillings, and a custom quote comes back by email within one working day. The free proof shows the window outline over the artwork, so check the allergen label area is clear of it. Boxes are made in 4 to 7 working days once approved, arrive flat by tracked courier, and any that turn up damaged or misprinted can be reported within 10 days for a reprint or refund.

Baguette Sandwich Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering baguette sandwich boxes.
How do I measure a baguette for the box?
Measure a filled roll, including the filling height and any liner. We then add clearance so the ends are not squashed and the lid closes cleanly.
Will a window steam up with a hot baguette?
It can. For hot sandwiches we suggest a smaller window or a printed lid without one.
Can one box design work for every filling?
Yes. Most shops use one generic printed box and a sticker for each variety with ingredients and allergens.
Should I line the box?
A greaseproof or wax paper liner keeps the crust from sticking and adds a neat finishing touch, especially for oily fillings.
Should a sandwich bar choose kraft or white board for baguette boxes?
Kraft suits artisan bakeries and farm shops and hides small marks from crusty bread. White board shows a bright logo and food photography more sharply, which helps in a chilled cabinet full of brown packaging.
Where should the allergen label go?
On a side or end panel, away from the window, so it is easy to read without hiding the filling.
Do the boxes keep sandwiches fresh in a chiller?
A firmly closing box protects against the drying airflow of a chilled cabinet better than an open wrap, helping bread keep its texture.
Can I get boxes for full-length baguettes?
Yes. Full-length boxes suit sharing sticks and generous portions. Two sizes usually cover a whole menu.
How fast can a new sandwich bar get boxes?
Production takes 4 to 7 working days after proof approval, then free tracked UK mainland delivery in 2 to 3 working days.
Can a filled baguette sit directly on the board without a liner?
Yes, if you ask for food-contact grade board when you request your quote; we confirm the option on the proof notes. Most sandwich bars still add a greaseproof liner for buttery fillings.
Can caterers order trays for mini baguettes?
Yes. A tray with low walls and a lid holds several mini baguettes for meetings and training days.
