Custom Sweet Boxes with Window
Custom sweet boxes with window panels let colourful sweets do the selling, because a shopper can see the jelly beans, fizzy cola bottles or fudge before they pick the box up. We print the card around the window in your branding and fit a clear film so the contents stay clean and visible.

Let the Sweets Sell Themselves
Sweets are one of the few products where the contents are more persuasive than any picture. Glossy gummy bears, sugar-dusted fruit jellies and stripy rock look tempting in a way no illustration quite matches. A window box puts them on show while keeping them sealed and protected from dust and fingers.
That matters most where shoppers browse: a sweet shop shelf, a market stall, a gift shop near the till or a cinema kiosk. A solid box needs the shopper to trust the photo on the front. A window box lets them check that the mix includes their favourites and that the sweets look fresh, which removes a small moment of doubt and speeds up the decision.
Online sellers benefit too. A window box photographs beautifully for product listings and gives customers a satisfying first look when they open the parcel, before they have even lifted the lid. p2 Shops that sell by the bag at markets use our paper sweet boxes without a window for the cheaper lines.
Window Shapes and Box Styles
The window can be any shape we can cut cleanly, and it can sit on the front, the lid or wrap around a corner. The box style underneath depends on how the sweets are sold. p0 Party favours in the same style are on our sweet favour boxes page.
- Tuck end box with front window: a slim upright box for shelf display, ideal for pick and mix bags or loose sweets in a liner.
- Lid and base box with a window in the lid: suits fudge, truffles and chocolates laid out in rows, often with a card insert.
- Gable box with a side window: a carry handle on top makes it a ready-made gift for parties and favours.
- Sleeve box with a window: a printed sleeve slides over a tray, and the window shows the sweets through the sleeve.
- Shaped windows: hearts, stars, a jar outline or your logo shape add personality and make the box instantly recognisable.

Sizing Sweet Boxes with Window Panels
Start with the weight you want to sell, because most sweet shops price by weight. Fill a bag or tub with that amount of your typical mix, then measure the space it takes up. Chewy sweets settle and pack tightly, while larger items such as marshmallows or foam shapes take up much more room for the same weight.
Next, decide whether the sweets go straight in or sit inside a clear bag. A bag keeps loose sweets fresh and stops sugar dust collecting in the corners, but it adds a little thickness, so we allow for it. For fudge or chocolates, measure the pieces in their layout, including any paper cases.
Finally, size the window. A good rule is to leave at least 15 mm of card border around the window so the box keeps its strength and still has room for branding.
If you are unsure, order a few plain samples in two sizes and fill them with real stock before committing to print. p3 The guide to measuring a product covers loose contents by volume.
Board, Film and Food Contact
Window sweet boxes are usually made from a smooth folding boxboard that prints crisply. White board shows bright, playful artwork at its best, which suits most sweet brands. Kraft board gives a traditional, old sweet shop feel and pairs well with simple black or one-colour print.
The window is a clear film glued to the inside of the card. It keeps the sweets visible but sealed. If you would prefer no film, an open window works for wrapped sweets, though it lets dust in and is not suitable for loose, unwrapped items.
If sweets will touch the board directly, ask us for food-contact grade board, which is available on request. Many sellers avoid the question entirely by using a clear bag inside the box.
Print Ideas That Frame the Window
Design around the window rather than despite it. The sweets become part of the artwork, so think of the window as a feature and keep the surrounding print supportive. A bold logo above, a short name for the mix below and a pattern on the sides works better than trying to fill every inch.
Playful designs can turn the window into something: the mouth of a cartoon monster, the glass of a sweet jar or the porthole of a rocket. For premium fudge or chocolates, a minimal border with foil blocking around the window feels elegant and lets the product take centre stage.
Use the back or side panel for the required details, such as ingredients, allergens, weight and your business address, so the front stays clean.
If you sell several mixes, keep the box design identical and change only a coloured band or the mix name. The window already tells shoppers what is inside, so a single box design with a small label or printed name panel can cover a whole range and keep your stock simple. p3 Foil around a window is shown in the guide to print and finish options.
Who Uses Window Sweet Boxes
These boxes are popular with pick and mix shops, online sweet sellers, fudge kitchens, chocolatiers, farm shops, cinema kiosks and party suppliers. Event planners use small window boxes as favours, and corporate gifting companies fill them with branded sweets for client packs.
Sweet subscription companies use a window lid inside the mailer, so the first view on opening is the sweets themselves, framed by the brand. Tourist shops use them for local fudge and rock, where the look of the product carries the sale.
Bakeries that sell meringues, macarons or brightly iced biscuits use the same boxes for the same reason: the product is the best advert, and the window lets it show. Wedding cake makers use them for slices sent home with guests.
Weigh the Mix You Sell, Then Pour It Into a Bag
Sweet shops price by weight, so start with the weight per box, pour that amount of your typical mix into a bag, settle it and measure the space it takes; chewy sweets pack tight while marshmallows and foam shapes need twice the room for the same grams. Say if the sweets go in a clear bag first, because the bag adds a little thickness, and whether the box holds fudge pieces in cases instead of loose sweets.
Keep 15 mm of card around the window and plan one design for the whole range with a coloured band per mix, since the window already shows what is inside. The custom quote arrives by email within one working day, from £0.25 a box, with the minimum set per job.
The free proof shows the window, the fold lines and the print; order two plain samples first if you are unsure of the size. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and the flat boxes reach UK mainland addresses by free tracked delivery. Shops that sell assortments also add our sweet boxes with printed dividers for the gift end.

Sweet Boxes with Window Questions
What buyers ask before ordering sweet boxes with window.
Can loose sweets go straight into a window box?
They can if you choose food-contact grade board, available on request, and a sealed film window. Many sellers prefer a clear bag inside the box, which keeps sweets fresh and the box clean.
What shape can the window be?
Almost any shape that can be cut cleanly, including circles, hearts, stars and simple logo outlines. Very fine details are best avoided because the film needs room to stick around the edge.
Will the window film come loose?
The film is glued to the inside of the card around the whole window. Leaving a border of card around the window gives the glue enough area to hold firmly.
How much card should surround the window?
We suggest at least 15 mm on each side. It keeps the box strong and leaves room for your logo and product name.
Can I have a window without film?
Yes, an open window works for individually wrapped sweets. It is not suitable for loose sweets because dust and fingers can get in.
Which box suits fudge?
A lid and base box with a window in the lid, plus a card insert or paper cases, keeps fudge pieces neat and shows them off well. Measure the pieces in their cases.
Where do ingredients and allergens go?
Usually on the back or a side panel. Keep the front for the brand and the window, and put the required information where it is easy to find.
Can the box have a handle for parties?
Yes, the gable style has a built-in carry handle and a side window, which makes it popular for party bags and favours. Children carry it easily.
When will my window boxes arrive?
After you approve the free proof, production takes 4 to 7 working days and free tracked UK mainland delivery takes 2 to 3 working days. Boxes arrive flat in bundles.
How much do window sweet boxes cost?
Plain printed sweet boxes begin from £0.25 each. Send us your size and quantity and we will email a custom quote within one working day.
What if the windows are misaligned on my order?
Report any misprint or damage within 10 days with a photo and we will reprint or refund the boxes. The sound boxes stay with you.
