Custom Printed Carton Sealing Tape
Custom printed carton sealing tape puts your logo on every parcel without changing the boxes themselves. We print polypropylene and gummed paper tapes with a repeating design along the roll, so plain brown cartons leave your warehouse looking branded and any tampering on the way is easy to spot.

The Cheapest Way to Brand a Plain Box
Printed boxes look great, but they are not always practical. If you ship many different products in many box sizes, ordering printed cartons in every size ties up cash and space. Branded tape gets round that. Every carton, whatever its size, gets the same branded strip across the top, and your logo is the first thing the customer sees on the doorstep.
Tape also travels well across your supply chain. Warehouses and fulfilment partners can use it on whatever cartons they have in stock, and returns, replacements and wholesale orders all go out looking consistent.
For businesses that already use printed mailers, tape still has a role. It seals heavier corrugated shippers, outer cases for stockists and pallets, all of which tend to go out plain.
It is also one of the fastest branding changes to make. A new box design means new dielines, proofs and storage space, whereas branded tape simply replaces the plain rolls on the packing bench. Staff need no new training, and the change is visible from the first parcel that leaves after the tape arrives. Brands that want a solid colour without a logo use our coloured packing tape for the same effect.
Polypropylene Tape or Gummed Paper Tape
Polypropylene tape, often called PP tape, is the familiar plastic packing tape applied with a hand dispenser. It is quick to use, flexible and inexpensive, and it prints well in one to three colours. It suits most e-commerce parcels and works on smooth and slightly textured carton surfaces.
Gummed paper tape is a paper strip with a water-activated adhesive. When moistened, the glue bonds into the fibres of the carton, creating a very strong seal that cannot be peeled away cleanly. Any attempt to open the box leaves visible tearing, which makes it a good choice for high-value goods. It needs a water-activated dispenser, so it suits packing benches more than occasional use.
Reinforced gummed paper tape, with fibres running through it, is stronger still and suits heavy cartons. The paper version is covered in more detail on our branded packing tape page.
- PP tape: quick, flexible and economical for most parcels
- Gummed paper tape: tamper-evident bond for valuable goods
- Reinforced gummed tape: heavy cartons and long journeys
- Hand dispenser for PP, water-activated dispenser for gummed

Widths, Lengths and Repeat Length
The standard width is 48mm, which suits most parcel and carton sealing. A 75mm width gives a wider band for heavier cartons and more space for your design. Narrower tapes around 25mm suit small boxes and are sometimes used to seal tissue paper or mailers.
Roll lengths vary by tape type. Plastic tapes are commonly made in rolls around 66m long, while gummed paper rolls are often longer. Your design repeats along the roll at a set interval, so a short logo repeats often and a longer message repeats less. Choose a repeat that shows the logo fully on even small boxes; if the repeat is longer than the box top, part of the design will be cut off.
Tell us the typical box sizes you seal and we will suggest a repeat that works across them. Our guide to measuring boxes for packaging covers top panel lengths.
Designing Printed Carton Sealing Tape with Logo
Printed carton sealing tape with logo artwork works best when it is simple and bold. Tape is narrow and seen quickly, often on a doorstep or in a sorting depot, so a clear logo and a short message, such as a website address or a handle-with-care note, reads better than detailed graphics.
Brown or white tape with one or two colours of print is the most common choice. Brand-coloured tape with white print is more visible on plain cartons. Clear tape printed in one colour gives a lighter look. Keep text well inside the edges, as tape stretches slightly and the edges can wrinkle on application.
Some brands print different messages for different uses: a standard logo tape for orders and a fragile or heavy warning tape for specific cartons.
Think about how the tape will be cut. Packers rarely cut tape at a neat point in the repeat, so every strip starts and ends somewhere random. A design with several small logos along the repeat, rather than one long message, makes sure something recognisable appears on every strip, however short. Upload the logo through the free proof request and we will show it repeated along a strip.
Tamper Evidence and Security
Branded tape is harder to replace without being noticed. If someone opens a box and reseals it with plain tape, the difference is obvious. Gummed paper tape goes further, because it tears the carton surface when removed. For high-value deliveries, pairing branded gummed tape with a note on the packing slip asking customers to report damaged seals helps deter interference.
Warehouses also find printed tape useful for spotting their own cartons quickly among others on a loading bay or in a carrier's depot.
Some sellers also note on their website or order confirmation that every parcel leaves sealed with branded tape. Customers then know what to expect and can raise a concern straight away if a parcel arrives sealed with something else, which helps you deal with problems quickly with the carrier. The box extras range covers the seal stickers that pair with tamper-evident tape.
Getting the Most from Branded Tape
Use the right dispenser. A good PP tape gun with a sharp blade gives clean cuts and tight seals. For gummed tape, a manual or electric water-activated dispenser measures and moistens the tape evenly. Apply tape along the centre seam and down the sides a little way to anchor it.
Store tape in a cool, dry place. PP tape adhesive softens in heat, and gummed tape can activate in damp conditions. Keep rolls in their cartons until needed.
Count how many strips you use per parcel and how many parcels you ship each week. That simple sum tells you roughly how long a box of rolls will last, so you can reorder before you run out rather than falling back on plain tape. Shops that line the box as well as seal it add branded tissue paper to the same order.
Measure Your Smallest Box Top Before Setting the Repeat
The repeat length is the decision people get wrong. Measure the top of the smallest carton you seal, because a design that repeats every 250 mm shows only half a logo on a 180 mm box; several small logos along the repeat put something recognisable on every strip, however short the packer cuts it. Choose PP tape for a hand gun and everyday parcels, gummed paper for tamper evidence on valuable goods, and say which dispenser you use so the width and core suit it.
Count strips per parcel and parcels per week so the first order lasts about three months. Send the logo, tape type, width, repeat and roll count, and a custom quote comes back by email within one working day, with low minimums quoted per job. The free proof shows the design along a length of tape. Printing takes 4–7 working days after approval and the rolls arrive by free tracked delivery to UK mainland addresses in 2–3 working days; reorder at two weeks of stock. Misprinted or damaged rolls reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded. Parcels that need a pull-to-open strip as well use our tear strip tape for easy opening.

Printed Carton Sealing Tape Questions
What buyers ask before ordering printed carton sealing tape.
Which tape type is more secure?
Gummed paper tape bonds into the carton surface, so it tears when removed and shows tampering clearly. PP tape can be peeled more easily.
Do I need a special dispenser for gummed tape?
Yes. Gummed tape needs a water-activated dispenser. PP tape uses a standard hand tape gun.
What width should I choose?
48mm suits most parcels. Choose 75mm for heavy cartons or a bolder band of branding.
How often does my logo repeat?
You set the repeat length. A shorter repeat shows the logo fully on small boxes; we suggest one based on your carton sizes.
Can I print on coloured tape?
Yes. Brand-coloured tape with white or dark print reads strongly on plain brown cartons. Send a colour reference and we match the base tape as closely as the stock allows.
Will printed tape stick to rough or dusty cartons?
PP tape sticks to most carton surfaces. On rougher or dusty boards, gummed tape often gives a stronger bond.
How should I store tape rolls?
Keep them cool and dry. Heat softens PP adhesive and damp can activate gummed tape.
Can I order a fragile message tape too?
Yes. Many businesses order a standard logo tape and a separate warning tape for fragile cartons.
What does printed tape cost?
Pricing depends on tape type, width, colours and number of rolls. Tell us the spec and quantity and a custom quote will follow within one working day.
Will branded tape arrive before my current stock runs out?
Rolls are printed in 4 to 7 working days after proof approval and delivered in 2 to 3 working days. Reorder when you are down to about two weeks of stock.
What if the print is faulty on some rolls?
Report it within 10 days with photos. Faulty rolls are reprinted or refunded.
