Presentation Cases for Single Pens

For a quality pen, a rigid box with a hinged or lift-off lid and a fitted insert gives a proper unboxing moment. The insert is usually card wrapped in paper or a cut foam with a velvet-style flock, shaped so the pen sits in a channel. A slide-out drawer box is another good option and feels a little more unusual in the hand.

Corporate buyers often want the company logo on the lid and a short message inside. Foil stamping on a dark rigid wrap is a classic combination, and blind embossing gives a subtle, tactile mark that suits professional gifting.

Sizing Pen Display Boxes Correctly

Measure the pen's length with the cap posted and unposted if it is a fountain pen, and its widest diameter at the clip. Clips stick out further than the barrel and are the usual reason a pen will not sit in a channel or slot. For counter units, count how many pens you want per row and leave a few millimetres between them so customers can lift one out without catching the others.

Header height matters on a counter. Too short and the branding disappears behind the pens; too tall and the unit can tip when half empty. We usually balance a header of around a third of the tray depth with a slightly weighted base board.

Getting More From a Pen Display

A counter display is often the only part of your brand a shopper sees before they decide, so use the space. A short line about what makes the pen different, such as smooth gel ink, a quick-dry formula or a refillable barrel, helps a customer choose in the few seconds they spend at the till. Keep it to a few words; anything longer will not be read.

Think about restocking as well. If shop staff refill the display from loose stock, a slotted top makes it obvious where each pen goes and keeps the unit tidy. If the display is meant to be replaced when empty, a tear-off tray is simpler and cheaper to make.

Colour order matters on mixed displays. Arranging pens in a clear sequence, light to dark or by ink colour, makes the unit look fuller and easier to browse. We can print row markers or colour dots on the tray so the order survives restocking.

For promotional pens handed out at events, a deep open box with a bold header works better than a neat stand. People help themselves, and the header keeps the brand visible even when the box is half empty. Gift pens that will be posted can travel in pen boxes with foam inserts instead.

Board, Print and Finishing Choices

Counter displays are usually made in folding boxboard or E-flute corrugated with a printed white liner. Boxboard gives crisp print and is fine for light pens; corrugated is stiffer and better for heavier loads or units that may be refilled. A gloss or matte coating protects the print from handling at the till.

Gift cases use greyboard wrapped in printed or coloured paper. Textured papers, foil logos and a ribbon pull are popular. If you are pairing pens with notebooks or cards, we can make a larger case with two compartments.

A free design proof comes before printing, and once you sign it off the displays are made in 4–7 working days, then sent by free tracked UK mainland delivery within 2–3 working days. Any misprint or damage reported within 10 days is reprinted or refunded.
