What Goes into a Retail Baking Paper Pack
Baking paper reaches kitchens in three main formats. Rolls are the most familiar, sold in a long carton with a cutting edge so the cook pulls out a length and tears it off. Pre-cut sheets come flat in a sleeve or a tray, sized to standard baking trays. Tin liners, shaped circles and loaf liners come stacked in a small box or bag, ready to drop straight into a tin.
Each format needs a different pack. A roll carton must hold the roll firmly, let it turn smoothly and give a clean tear. A sheet sleeve must keep the paper flat and stop corners creasing. A liner box must hold a neat stack without crushing the folded sides.
Getting the pack right affects how the product is used. A carton that lets the roll fall out or a tear edge that rips the paper unevenly frustrates customers, however good the paper itself is.
Shelf space is tight in most kitchen aisles, so packs also need to fit the fixtures. Long roll cartons usually sit flat on a shelf or stand upright in a shelf-ready tray, while sheet sleeves and liner boxes often hang on pegs. Knowing where your stockists will place the product helps decide the pack shape before artwork starts. The sheet sleeve is the same format we use for printed greaseproof paper sheets, so the two can share a design.
Roll Cartons and Dispensing Features
A roll carton is usually a long tuck-end or glued box with a hinged lid along one side. When the lid is closed, the lid flap tucks under the front panel and holds the paper end in place. Many cartons include a serrated cutting edge along the lid, either a metal or plastic blade, or a printed board edge cut in a zigzag that tears the paper reasonably cleanly.
End flaps with a perforated push-in tab let the cook hold the roll in place while pulling. A tear strip along the top lets the carton be opened for the first time without damaging the board. Clear guidance printed on the side shows where to push and how to tear.
If the paper is lighter or thinner than standard, test the cutting edge with a sample roll before ordering. A board serration that tears thick paper well can snag on thinner paper, and a quick test avoids a carton that annoys customers every time they use it. Rolls of parchment paper sold on the roll behave the same way, so test those too.

Sizing Around Roll Width and Sheet Formats
Most household baking paper rolls are around 300mm to 380mm wide, so the carton needs an internal length a few millimetres longer. Measure the roll diameter at its fullest and allow a little room so it can turn freely. Professional and catering rolls are wider and heavier and need stronger board.
Pre-cut sheet sleeves follow common tray sizes. A sleeve for sheets around 330mm by 230mm suits standard home baking trays, while larger catering sheets need a wider pack. For round tin liners, measure the diameter and folded height of a stack of the quantity you sell.
We can make a family of packs in matching artwork so that rolls, sheets and liners sit together on the shelf as one range. Round liners are covered in more detail on our round baking paper liners page.
Printed Baking Paper Packs for the Shelf
Printed baking paper packs need to communicate fast. Shoppers look for width, length, whether the paper is siliconised and what temperature it handles. Put those details large on the front, along with your brand name, and keep the story for the back.
Photography of bakes on the paper helps customers picture it in use. Clean, bright artwork with plenty of white space suits a premium own-label brand. A rustic kraft carton with one-colour print suits farm shops and artisan bakeries selling their own paper.
Barcodes, your address and any product claims should be placed on the back or side. Only state claims you can support with your paper supplier's documentation.
Range colours help shoppers too. Many brands use one colour for rolls, another for sheets and a third for liners, all within the same layout, so customers can find the right format at a glance on a busy shelf.
Baking Paper Packs with Logo for Bakeries and Suppliers
Bakery suppliers and cookery schools often sell baking paper alongside their tins, mixes and equipment. Baking paper packs with logo printing let them add a consumable to the range that customers come back for. The same applies to kitchen shops and online baking brands, where a small roll at the checkout is an easy add-on sale.
Starter kits pair well too. A roll of baking paper in a matching carton alongside a cake mix or a tin set makes a tidy gift and raises the basket value.
Cookery schools sometimes hand a roll to every student at the end of a class. A pack printed with the school name and a favourite recipe on the back is a thoughtful reminder of the day. Schools that teach bread often add loaf tin liners in a printed box to the same kit.
Board Choice for Kitchen Storage
Baking paper cartons live in kitchen drawers and cupboards, often near a hob or kettle. A folding boxboard around 350gsm to 400gsm holds the shape of a long carton well. Board that will touch the paper directly can be specified as food-contact grade board on request. A light varnish helps the carton resist kitchen splashes. The board weights and varnish options page lists the grades we use for long cartons.
Post Us a Roll Before We Cut the Dieline
The most useful thing you can do before ordering is to send a roll, a stack of sheets or a bundle of liners exactly as they will be sold. Paper rolls vary in core diameter and in how tightly they are wound, and a carton cut from a drawing can be a few millimetres out in a way that stops the roll turning. With a sample in hand we check the cutting edge against the real paper, settle whether a board serration or a fitted blade suits it, and confirm the internal length.
On the artwork side, keep width, length and the oven temperature on the front panel and the dispensing instructions on the side. A custom quote comes back by email within one working day, the proof is free and shows the cutting edge position, and printing takes 4–7 working days from approval with free tracked delivery to UK mainland addresses in 2–3 working days. Cartons that arrive misprinted or crushed are reprinted or refunded when reported within 10 days, and the other wrapping papers and their packs can be quoted alongside if you sell a wider range.

Baking Paper Packs Questions
What buyers ask before ordering baking paper packs.
Can the carton have a cutting edge?
Yes. A serrated board edge is cut into the lid, or a fitted blade can be added on request for a cleaner tear.
What carton length suits a 300mm roll?
An internal length just over 300mm, with a few millimetres of clearance, lets the roll turn freely. Our household roll carton at 310 x 45 x 45 mm is built for exactly that width.
Can you make packs for pre-cut sheets?
Yes. A flat sleeve or a tray and sleeve keeps sheets flat and stops the corners creasing.
Is the board suitable for touching the paper?
We can supply food-contact grade board on request for the inner surfaces. Add it to your quote request.
Should I print temperature details on the pack?
Yes, if your paper supplier confirms them. Only print claims you can support with their documentation.
Can rolls, sheets and liners share one design?
Yes. We can create a matching family of packs so your range looks consistent on the shelf.
How do I stop the roll falling out?
Push-in end tabs and a hinged lid that tucks under the front panel hold the roll in place while dispensing. The lid also traps the loose paper end so it does not unwind in the drawer.
What does a baking paper carton cost?
Prices start from £0.25 per carton depending on size, board and print. A custom quote arrives within one working day.
Can a 310 mm roll carton hang on a peg without bending?
Yes, if the tab is reinforced. On a long carton we add a double-thickness hang tab at the centre of the back panel so the weight sits evenly, and 400 gsm board keeps the carton straight. Tell us the peg diameter your stockists use.
Can cartons arrive before my paper rolls are delivered?
Yes, if you order early. Cartons take 4 to 7 working days after proof approval and 2 to 3 working days to deliver, so many brands order them as soon as the roll size is fixed.
The serration on my proof looks too fine for thick paper. Can it change?
Yes, the tooth size on a board cutting edge can be adjusted before printing, and the proof is the moment to say so. If the paper is heavy, a fitted blade is the cleaner option. Any carton that then arrives misprinted or damaged is reprinted or refunded when reported within 10 days.
