Custom Vape Display Boxes
Custom vape display boxes arrive as a shipping carton, open with a tear-off lid and become a ready-made stand on the shop counter. They keep disposables, pods and e-liquid bottles in neat rows where customers can see every flavour, and they carry your brand at the exact point where the buying decision is made.

How a Counter Display Earns Its Space
Counter space in a vape shop, convenience store or petrol station kiosk is limited and fiercely contested. Retailers give it to the brands that make their life easy. A display box that arrives filled, opens in seconds and stands steadily without assembly is far more likely to make it onto the counter than loose stock that a member of staff has to arrange.
Once there, the box does three jobs. It groups your products together so they read as a range rather than scattered items. It shows the flavours or strengths clearly so customers can point rather than ask. And it keeps the stock tidy as units sell, because each one sits in its own row or slot.
For wholesalers and distributors, display boxes also simplify ordering. A shop buys one filled display rather than counting individual units, and reorders when the box empties. Shops that take the display usually stock the matching pod cartons printed in the same colours, so the two should be designed together.
Layouts for Disposables, Pods and Bottles
Disposable vapes are usually packed in their own small cartons, standing upright in a tiered display so each flavour faces the customer. A stepped insert lifts the back rows higher than the front, which means nothing hides behind anything else.
Replacement pods and coils come in flat packs that suit a shallower tray with angled dividers. E-liquid bottles in their cartons need a deeper box with slots sized to the carton footprint, and the dividers stop bottles toppling as the box empties.
We size every slot from your actual product carton, allowing a small clearance so units slide out easily without the display looking half empty when a few are gone.
Think about how many units a shop will realistically sell between deliveries. A display that empties in two days looks great but needs constant refilling, while one that sits half full for weeks starts to look tired. Many brands find a moderate capacity per flavour, with the option of a larger display for high-volume stores, strikes the right balance.

Tear-Off Lids and Header Cards
Most counter displays ship closed, with a perforated lid that tears away to reveal the product and a printed back panel. The perforation has to be strong enough to survive the courier and weak enough for a shop assistant to open by hand without a blade. We test that balance on the board you choose.
A header card, the raised panel at the back, is your billboard. It is where the brand name, the product type and a short line about the range sit at eye level. Keep it bold and readable from a couple of metres away, because customers glance at the counter while they wait rather than studying it.
If you want the lid to have a second life, it can fold back to become the header rather than being thrown away, which saves board and keeps the display self-contained. The same perforation is used on the child-resistant cartons for e-liquid bottles that sit in the slots, so the two tear the same way.
Board Strength and Stability
A counter display is picked up, shuffled and leaned on all day. Thin card soon sags, especially when the box is half full and the weight sits unevenly. For disposables and e-liquids we normally recommend a heavy folding boxboard or a micro-flute corrugated board that keeps its shape through the life of the stock.
Corrugated board also protects the product in transit, which matters because the display is often the shipping carton too. If you send displays inside an outer case, a solid boxboard gives sharper print and a slimmer profile.
A wider base and a low centre of gravity stop the box tipping when customers pull a unit from the back row.
Ask for a sample if your units are unusually heavy or tall. A quick test on the actual counter, filled with real stock, shows whether the board flexes or the box leans before you commit to a full run.
Printing Within the Rules
Vape packaging in the UK is regulated, and the rules affect the product packs more heavily than the display. Even so, retailers and trading standards look at the whole presentation. Keep display artwork factual, avoid imagery that appeals to children such as cartoon characters or sweets, and make sure any age restriction notice is clear.
We print what you supply, so check your artwork against current guidance before approval. If your product cartons carry statutory warnings, leave the slots open at the front so those warnings remain visible when the units sit in the display.
Within those limits there is plenty of room for strong branding: confident colour blocks, flavour colour coding and a clean logo give a display presence without crossing any lines. Coil packs carry the most text of any item in the display, and the small cartons for replacement coils show how we fit it in legibly.
Finishes That Survive a Busy Counter
Counters get wiped, splashed and handled constantly. A gloss or matt laminate protects the print from fingerprints and spills and keeps the colours bright until the last unit is sold. Spot gloss on the logo or flavour names adds a little shine under shop lighting without the cost of full foil.
Holographic or metallic foil effects are popular in this category and work well on header cards, but use them for accents rather than whole panels so the flavour information remains easy to read.
Lighting is worth a thought too. Many vape shops use bright cool lighting and glass cabinets, where a high gloss can glare. A matt laminate with a spot gloss logo often reads better in that setting, while gloss suits dimmer convenience store counters. Laminate and foil choices are the same across our vape and e-liquid packaging range, so a display and its cartons can share one finish.
Send One Product Carton and the Count per Row
A display is drawn around the carton that goes into it, so the most useful thing you can send is one empty product carton for each line, or its exact outer dimensions, plus the number of units you want per row and per display. Decide early whether the display is also the shipper, because that changes the board: a display that travels inside an outer case can be lighter folding boxboard, while one that is posted on its own needs micro-flute. Tell us which counter it is going on; a petrol station kiosk gives less depth than a specialist shop. Pod and coil ranges often sit better in a shallower counter display tray with a header.
Keep the header card and front lip as separate artwork files from the product cartons, and have your compliance adviser sign off the wording first. A custom quote comes back within one working day, then a free design proof showing the display open and closed. Displays are made in 4 to 7 working days after approval and delivered free and tracked on the UK mainland in 2 to 3 days. A display that arrives crushed or misprinted is reprinted or refunded when reported within 10 days.

Vape Display Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering vape display boxes.
Can the display double as the shipping carton?
Yes. Most of our vape displays ship closed and convert on the counter by tearing off the perforated lid. For long distance or bulk shipping, we suggest packing several displays in an outer case.
How do I stop back rows hiding behind front rows?
Use a stepped insert. Each row sits higher than the one in front, so every flavour faces the customer even when the box is full.
Will the display stay upright when half empty?
A wide base and heavy board keep it stable. If your units are tall and narrow, tell us and we will lower the centre of gravity with a deeper base section.
Can statutory warnings on my product cartons stay visible?
Yes. We design the slots so the front face of each carton remains visible. Check this on the free proof before approving.
What imagery should I avoid on a vape display?
Avoid anything that could appeal to children, such as cartoons, toys or sweet imagery, and keep claims factual. You are responsible for checking artwork against current UK rules before approval.
Which board is best for a busy convenience store counter?
Micro-flute corrugated with a laminate holds up best to constant handling and wiping. Heavy boxboard works well when the display ships inside an outer case.
Can the lid become the header card?
Yes. A fold-back lid can stand up behind the product as a printed header, so nothing is thrown away and the display stays in one piece.
Can I mix pods and devices in one display?
Yes. A mixed layout holds starter kits at the back and pods or refills in shallow slots at the front, which encourages add-on sales at the till.
A flavour launches in four weeks. Will filled displays reach my distributor in time?
Usually, yes. Displays are produced in 4 to 7 working days after you approve the free proof and reach UK mainland addresses free and tracked in 2 to 3 working days more. Approve the proof in the first week and the displays arrive with time to fill and dispatch.
What if the tear-off perforation fails?
Report any damaged or faulty displays within 10 days and we will reprint or refund them. We set the perforation strength for your board before production.
Can different retailers have different header wording?
Yes. We can print short runs of the same display with different header text, keeping your brand consistent while each store promotes its own offer.
