Custom Sparkling Water Can Boxes
Custom sparkling water can boxes turn a run of cans into a multipack that sells from a supermarket shelf, a fridge in a deli or an online shop. We make them to suit slim, sleek or standard cans in the pack sizes you sell, printed in full colour and checked on a free proof first.

Why Drinks Brands Box Their Cans
A single can is easy to sell from a fridge, but most sparkling water and soft drink sales are multipacks. A printed carton holds the cans together, gives a large surface for branding and makes it easy for shoppers to grab a four-pack or a twelve-pack in one hand. It also protects cans in transit; aluminium dents easily, and a dented can looks damaged even when it is perfectly sealed.
For newer brands, the multipack box is often the main advertising space they have. Shelf space is limited and expensive, so a bold carton that reads clearly from a few metres away does much of the selling. A run of matching flavour boxes side by side creates a wall of colour that is hard to miss.
Online sellers benefit too. A sturdy can box can often double as the shipping carton, cutting packing time and material. Breweries and soft drinks brands that mix flavours use can carriers for mixed packs with printed cells.
Can Formats and How They Change the Box
Not all cans are the same shape, and the box has to match exactly. Standard 330ml cans are short and wide. Slim cans, often used for sparkling water and premium mixers, are tall and narrow. Sleek cans sit between the two. Larger 440ml and 500ml cans need more height again.
Always build the box around the can you actually use, measuring the diameter at the widest point and the full height with the ring pull in place. Even a 1 mm difference across six cans adds up, and a loose fit lets cans rattle and scuff their print.
Tell us which format you use when you get in touch, and if you are planning to switch formats later, we can design the artwork so it adapts to a new box size with minimal changes. Our guide on how to measure a can at the rim explains why the rim sets the cell size.
- Standard 330ml: roughly 66 mm diameter, 115 mm tall
- Sleek 330ml: roughly 58 mm diameter, 146 mm tall
- Slim 250ml: roughly 53 mm diameter, 134 mm tall
- Standard 440ml: roughly 66 mm diameter, 168 mm tall

Closed Cartons, Open Baskets and Fridge Packs
A fully enclosed carton, sometimes called a fridge pack, holds the cans lying down in rows and has a perforated dispenser panel at one end. Once opened, it sits on a fridge shelf and lets people pull cans out one at a time. This style is popular for twelve-packs and above.
An open-top basket carrier holds four or six cans upright with a handle in the centre, and shows off the tops and sides of the cans. It suits premium brands whose can design is a selling point. A wrap-around sleeve, where printed board wraps the cans and locks underneath, is economical and gives a large printable surface for four and six packs.
For e-commerce bundles, a corrugated box with dividers holds cans upright and protects them on courier routes. Where the can design does the selling, open cardboard carriers show the tops and sides.
Board Strength and Condensation
Drinks packaging spends time in fridges and chilled warehouses, where condensation forms as soon as cans warm up. Uncoated board soaks up moisture and loses strength, so we recommend a moisture-resistant coated board for can boxes that will be chilled. A varnish or laminate on the outside protects the print as well.
Weight is the other factor. Twenty-four cans of sparkling water weigh around 8 to 9 kg, which needs corrugated board with a strong base. Four and six packs can use a heavier folding boxboard. Handle holes should be reinforced so they do not tear when a shopper lifts a full pack.
Tell us how the packs will be stored, shipped and displayed, and we will choose a board that copes with all three.
Designing for the Shelf and the Fridge
Drinks shoppers decide quickly, so the carton needs a clear brand name, the flavour in large type and a strong colour that ties to that flavour. Lime, berry, cucumber and other variants are much easier to find when each box has its own dominant colour. Keep the layout the same across all flavours so the range is recognisable as one brand.
Use the end panels well. In a fridge pack lying on a shelf, the end is often what faces the customer, so it needs the brand and flavour as clearly as the main panel. The top of a carton is visible in chilled cabinets and on pallets in warehouse stores, and is worth printing too.
Barcodes must be placed where scanners can reach them easily at the till. End panels read best with full colour print on end panels rather than a plain brown end.
Mixed Packs, Samplers and Gift Bundles
Mixed flavour packs are one of the easiest ways to get people trying more of your range. A twelve-pack with three cans each of four flavours lets a shopper find a favourite without committing to a whole case, and the box can carry a printed flavour guide on the inside flap so they know what to look for next time. Sampler packs of four, sent out with online orders or handed out at events, introduce new flavours to existing customers at low cost.
Gift bundles work well for premium mixers and tonics. A box holding four cans alongside a small bottle of spirit, or a set of tonic flavours with a printed pairing card, gives retailers something to sell in the run-up to birthdays and celebrations. These boxes benefit from a slightly heavier board and a printed interior, since the opening is part of the gift.
When you plan mixed packs, keep the outer design neutral enough to cover every flavour inside, and use a printed panel or a sticker to list the contents. That way one box design serves several combinations, and you can change the mix without reprinting the whole run. Samplers for online launches often ship in a gift box for sampler sets with can dividers.
Leave a Filled Pack in the Fridge Overnight Before the Full Run
Sparkling water sells chilled, so the test that matters for a can box is a night in a fridge. Before the full run, pack a few filled samples in the board we suggest, leave them overnight and check the handle, the end panels and the print for softening. Send the can format and height, the pack sizes and the number of flavours, and decide between a closed carton, an open basket that shows the cans and a fridge pack with a perforated end. Give each flavour its own dominant colour on the same layout and print the end panels, because that is what faces out of a fridge. Mixed packs and samplers often use a printed sleeve over a plain tray so the cans show.
A custom quote comes by email within one working day, and every flavour gets its own free proof so colours and barcodes can be checked. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval, boxes arrive flat by tracked courier to UK mainland addresses, and misprinted or damaged boxes reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded.

Sparkling Water Can Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering sparkling water can boxes.
Which can sizes do you make boxes for?
We make boxes for standard, sleek and slim cans in 250ml, 330ml, 440ml and 500ml formats. Send us your exact can measurements so the fit is snug.
Will the box cope with condensation?
We recommend moisture-resistant coated board for chilled products. It keeps its strength far better than uncoated board when cans sweat.
What is a fridge pack?
It is an enclosed carton with cans lying in rows and a perforated panel at one end. Once opened, it sits in a fridge and dispenses cans one at a time.
Can the box show the cans?
An open basket carrier shows the tops and sides of the cans. It suits brands whose can design is part of the appeal.
Can a twenty-four pack box be shipped by courier?
Yes, a corrugated shipper with dividers holds cans upright and protects them on courier routes.
How should flavours be told apart?
Give each flavour its own dominant colour while keeping the layout the same. Shoppers can then find their flavour quickly.
Should I print the end panels?
Yes. In fridges and on shelves, the end of a carton often faces the customer, so it should carry the brand and flavour clearly.
Are handles strong enough for a full pack?
Handle holes are reinforced so they do not tear under the weight of full cans.
Can I switch can format later?
Yes. Tell us early and we will set the artwork so it adapts to a new box size with minimal changes.
Do you proof each flavour?
Yes, every flavour has its own free proof so you can check colours, text and barcodes.
What if a bundle of can boxes arrives with crushed corners?
Report it within 10 days of delivery with a photo and we reprint or refund the affected boxes. Flat bundles are strapped so corners usually arrive square.
