Custom Reusable Mailing Bags
Custom reusable mailing bags carry two adhesive strips: one you use to seal the order, and a second one the customer uses if they need to send something back. For online fashion brands that see regular returns, it turns the returns process into a single, tidy step.

How the Two-Strip Mailing Bag Works
The bag looks like a standard poly mailer, but under the flap there are two strips of adhesive, one above the other, with a perforated tear line between them. When you pack an order, you peel the first liner and seal the bag. When the parcel arrives, the customer tears along the perforation to open it, leaving the second strip intact on the flap.
If the item needs to go back, they put it in the same bag, peel the second liner and close it again. A returns label goes over the original address, and the parcel is ready. There is no hunting for tape, no oversized box from the cupboard and no torn bag held together with sticky notes.
For your warehouse, returns that arrive in your own branded bag are easier to spot, sort and process than parcels in random packaging.
Why Fashion Brands Choose Reusable Mailing Bags
Clothing has a higher return rate than most product types, simply because fit is hard to judge on a screen. Making returns painless keeps customers buying, and a bag designed for a second trip removes one of the small annoyances that puts people off ordering a second size.
Soft goods also suit a bag far better than a box. A folded jumper, a pair of leggings or a dress in tissue paper fits a flat mailer neatly, weighs very little and goes through a letterbox in many cases. That keeps your postage down and means customers do not have to be at home to receive their order. Folded shirts that must arrive uncreased travel better in a shallow shirt mailer box with a tuck lid.
- Second seal strip for returns built into every bag
- Perforated tear line so the bag opens cleanly
- Light and flat for lower postage on soft goods
- Opaque film so contents stay private in transit

Printing Your Brand on a Mailing Bag
A mailing bag is a moving billboard. It sits on doormats, in post rooms and on office desks, so a bold logo and a strong brand colour do a lot of work. One or two spot colours on a white, black or coloured film give a sharp, consistent result and keep the cost per bag low.
Use the back of the bag for something useful. A short line about how the returns strip works saves you customer service emails. A social handle or a discount code for the next order gives the customer a reason to keep the bag. If you sell to a younger audience, a pattern that covers the whole bag tends to get photographed and shared more than a small corner logo.
Keep the address area clear and light so courier labels sit flat and barcodes scan first time. The same print methods apply across our branded poly mailers in every size, so a logo file serves both.
Choosing the Right Bag Size for Your Range
Measure your products folded the way you actually pack them, including tissue and any swing tags, and add space for the flap and the seal. A bag that is too tight strains at the seams when the customer reuses it; a bag that is too large lets items slide around and looks careless.
Most clothing brands manage with two or three sizes: a small bag for accessories and single T-shirts, a medium for jumpers and jeans, and a large for coats or multi-item orders. Check the sizes against the postal size bands you use most, because a few millimetres can move a parcel into a more expensive price band.
If you are unsure, send us your three most common orders and we will suggest sizes. The measuring routine in our guide to measuring a product works for soft goods if you measure the folded stack.
Film Weight, Storage and Packing Speed
Thicker film resists punctures from hangers, zips and sharp corners, and survives a second journey better. Lighter film keeps weight down for simple soft goods. We will suggest a gauge based on what you ship and how often items come back.
We do not make environmental claims on your behalf, so if you plan to print any message about materials on the bag, check the wording with your own adviser first. What we can say plainly is that a bag used twice does the job of two bags.
Mailing bags arrive flat in cartons, so a whole season's supply takes up a corner of a stockroom rather than a whole wall of boxes. Keep them away from direct heat, which can weaken the adhesive, and use the oldest cartons first.
On a busy packing bench, hang a dispenser or keep each size in a labelled tray. Packers then reach for the right bag without measuring, fold the item into tissue, slide it in, peel and seal. It is one of the fastest ways to dispatch clothing orders.
When you reorder, look at which sizes ran out first and which sat untouched. Adjusting the split between sizes on each run is the easiest way to stop paying for bags you never use. The film weights are listed with the rest of our shipping bags and mailer boxes.
Making Returns Easier for Your Customers
The bag only helps if customers know what to do with it. Mention the second strip in your returns page, on the packing slip and, ideally, on the bag itself. A small printed arrow pointing to the flap with a few words such as "keep this strip for returns" stops people from ripping the bag open from the side.
Think about where the tear line sits. A perforation just below the first seal lets the customer open the parcel neatly without scissors, which keeps the bag whole for its second trip. If packers often over-fill bags, consider going up one size so the flap closes flat and the second strip still lines up with the body of the bag.
Some brands slip a pre-printed returns label inside each order. Combined with the resealable bag, the customer can send something back in under a minute, and that ease shows up in repeat orders. The free proof laid out on the bag outline shows where the tear line and both strips sit against the artwork.
Count Your Returns Before You Choose the Film
The decision that matters most on a two-strip bag is film weight, and it should follow your returns rate. Pull a month of orders and work out how many came back. If it is more than one in five, specify the heavier gauge, because every returned bag makes two journeys and the second one is packed by a customer who will not be careful. Then size the bags by folding your three most common items with their tissue and swing tags and measuring the stack. Print the returns instructions on the back as a short numbered list, not a paragraph. Brands that only need a one-way bag with a clean opening use tear-strip poly mailers for single trips.
Email the sizes, film colour and gauge, print colours and quantity per size, and a custom quote comes back within one working day with a free design proof after it. Bags are made in 4 to 7 working days once approved and delivered free and tracked on the UK mainland in 2 to 3 days. Bags with faulty strips or print reported within 10 days are replaced or refunded.

Reusable Mailing Bags Questions
What buyers ask before ordering reusable mailing bags.
How does the customer reseal the bag for a return?
They tear along the perforated line to open the parcel, which leaves a second adhesive strip on the flap. To send a return, they peel that strip's liner and press the flap down.
Can I print returns instructions on the bag?
Yes. A short line near the flap explaining the second strip saves customer questions. We place it on the free proof so you can check it reads clearly.
Will the bag survive a second trip through the post?
With the right film thickness, yes. Tell us what you ship and how often items come back, and we will suggest a heavier gauge if needed.
Can I use these mailers for shoes?
Boxed shoes usually need a gusseted bag or a box. Loose sliders or soft shoes can go in a larger flat bag. Send us the box size and we will check the fit.
Do you offer coloured film?
Yes. White, black and a range of colours are available, and we can print your logo in a contrasting colour.
Where should the address label go?
We keep a clear, light area on the front for courier labels so barcodes scan reliably. The return label can then go over the original address.
How many sizes should a clothing brand start with?
Two or three sizes cover most fashion ranges. Send us your most common orders and we will suggest the sizes that fit them with the least wasted space.
Are the bags opaque?
Yes. We use opaque film so customers' orders stay private in transit.
Can I order a small trial run?
Yes. Minimums are low and quoted per job, so you can trial printed bags on one line before ordering for the whole store.
Can the same bag design work for several product lines?
Yes. Many brands keep one bag design in two or three sizes and change the packing slip or sticker per collection. It keeps reorders simple and stock levels low.
What happens if the seal strips are faulty?
Report any damaged or misprinted bags within 10 days of delivery and we will reprint or refund them.
