Custom Pyramid Drink Cartons

from £0.25 a cartonPriced per job · low minimums

Custom pyramid drink cartons are printed folding-board pyramids that hold a drink already sealed in its own pouch, bottle or carton. The four-sided shape looks nothing like the rows of rectangles around it, so a juice shot, a kids' pouch or a gift set gets a second look on a counter, in a hamper or at a sampling stand.

A Shape That Breaks the Pattern on the Shelf

Look along any café counter or drinks fridge and almost everything is a bottle, a can or a rectangular carton. A pyramid is immediately different. It catches light on its angled faces, it sits at a slight angle to everything around it, and people pick it up just to see how it opens. For a small drinks brand without a large marketing budget, that second look is the whole point of the pack.

The shape has a playful character that suits children's juice pouches and party drinks, and it works just as well for cold-pressed juice shots, iced tea gift packs and limited editions, where the pack is part of the appeal.

Because each face is a triangle, a pyramid offers four separate panels to design. One can carry the brand, another the flavour, a third the product information and the fourth a playful message or illustration.

There is a practical side too. Pyramids nest together in alternating directions, so a case of them packs tighter than you might expect, and a small one sits comfortably in a child's hand. Dairy and plant milk brands run the same idea on chocolate milk cartons in the same print.

How Pyramid Drink Cartons Are Used

Our pyramids are outer packs. The drink is filled and sealed first, by you or your co-packer, in a pouch, a small bottle or a standard carton, and the printed pyramid goes around it. The pyramid never touches the liquid and never goes near a filling line, so you are free to choose the size, board and finish that suit the display.

Brands use them in a few ways: a single juice shot presented as a small gift, a children's pouch inside a character pack for parties, three or four shots held in one larger pyramid, or a sampling pack handed out at a show. Hang tabs, apex handles and windows are all possible because the pack only has to hold an item that is already sealed. Sets of three or four shots usually sit in a gift box for juice shot sets with a divided insert.

Getting Sizes Right for a Tetrahedral Pack

Sizing a pyramid is less intuitive than sizing a box. The space inside depends on the length of the edges, and the narrow tips hold almost nothing, so the drink has to sit in the central part of the shape. Measure the pouch or bottle at its widest and tallest points, including any cap or spout, and send those figures with your enquiry.

A simple paper mock-up made from our dieline is the easiest way to test the fit before ordering. We can also add a flat square base to the design, which turns the pyramid into a steadier shape that stands apex-up on a shelf and suits bottles that should stay upright.

Think about how the packs will be grouped as well. Pyramids are often sold in multipacks held by a card sleeve or a small carrier, or loose in a display tray at the till. If you plan either, tell us early, because the sleeve or tray needs to match the pyramid size exactly, and it is far easier to design both together than to fit a carrier to cartons that already exist. Our guide on how to measure a filled pouch explains why a pouch bulges wider than its flat size.

Designing for Four Triangular Faces

A pyramid is seen from several angles at once, so the artwork must work across faces rather than on one front panel. Bold colour blocks that wrap around edges look striking, and simple, large graphics read better than fine detail on small triangles. Many children's drinks use a character whose face appears on one side, with the flavour name on another.

Keep important text away from the corners and seams, where it can be distorted. Place the brand name on the face that will sit forward on a counter or display, and give one face to the flavour, the volume and any details you want repeated from the drink's own label. Our proof shows the flat layout and how the faces join, so you can check the design in three dimensions. You receive a free proof of the four faces laid flat before printing.

Print and Finish Choices

Bright, saturated colours suit most pyramid drinks, and full colour print reproduces fruit photography, illustrations and gradients well. Gloss finishes make colours pop under shop lighting, while matt finishes give a softer, more grown-up look that suits premium juices and teas. If the packs go into a fridge with cold bottles inside, condensation is likely, so a laminated surface helps the print stay clean.

Spot UV on a logo, a die-cut window showing the drink and a handle at the apex are all possible. Inside, a card insert with a cut-out holds a bottle or pouch upright in the middle of the pyramid so it does not rattle against the walls, and a gift pyramid can take a divided insert that keeps each shot apart.

Who Orders Pyramid Cartons

Juice brands launching a children's range are the most frequent buyers, alongside smoothie makers who sell in pouches. Cold-pressed juice companies use small pyramids for single shots and gift sets. Cafes and juice bars use printed pyramid boxes for takeaway shots and bundles.

Event caterers order them for children's parties and school events, and promotional agencies use them for product sampling at shows, where an unusual shape draws people to a stand. Gift companies include them in hampers as a fun alternative to a bottle.

Brands planning a limited flavour or a collaboration also like pyramids for short runs, because the unusual shape signals that the drink is something different from the core range. Cafés handing pyramids over the counter pair them with drinks carriers for the café so a pair travels upright.

Make a Paper Pyramid From Our Dieline and Drop Your Pouch In

A pyramid holds far less in its corners than its height suggests, so the first job is a paper mock-up. Ask us for the dieline, cut it from card, fold it and drop in the sealed pouch, shot bottle or small carton the drink arrives in. If the product touches the tips, the pyramid needs to grow or an insert needs to hold it centred. Tell us how many go in each pack and whether the pyramid rests on a face or needs a flat square base for a counter. Plan the four faces so the brand sits forward in display and the flavour and volume share a face. Cafés serving the drinks chilled usually add a laminated finish, and sampling stands pair the pyramid with drinks carriers for the sampling stand.

Send the contents measurements, the pack count and artwork, and a custom quote comes by email within one working day. The free proof shows the flat dieline and the assembled shape. Printing takes 4 to 7 working days after approval, cartons arrive flat by tracked courier to UK mainland addresses, and misprinted or damaged cartons reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded.

Pyramid Drink Cartons Questions

What buyers ask before ordering pyramid drink cartons.

Can pyramid cartons be filled with drinks directly?

No. Our pyramids are printed outer packs. The drink goes in already sealed in its own pouch, bottle or carton, and the pyramid is folded around it.

Can a pyramid box hold a drink pouch or small bottle?

Yes. Most of the pyramids we make hold a single pouch, a shot bottle or a small carton, held in the centre by a card insert.

How do I check the size of a pyramid?

Make a paper mock-up from our dieline and test it with your drink. The narrow corners hold little, so the pouch or bottle must fit in the centre.

Can the pyramid stand upright on a shelf?

A standard pyramid rests on one face. We can add a flat square base so it stands steadily on a counter with the apex pointing up.

How should artwork be laid out on four faces?

Put the brand on the face that sits forward in display, keep one face for the flavour and volume, and use bold graphics that read on small triangles.

Will condensation from a cold drink spoil the print?

A laminated finish helps the print stay clean if the packs go into a fridge with cold bottles inside.

How is the drink held still inside?

A card insert with a cut-out holds the bottle or pouch upright, away from the narrow tips, so it does not slide about when the pack is carried.

Can pyramids be used for juice shot gift sets?

Yes. A larger gift pyramid holds three or four shots on a divided insert, and makes an unusual item in a hamper.

Do I need to tell my co-packer about the pyramid?

Only so you both know the size of the filled pouch or bottle. The pyramid goes on after the drink is filled and sealed, so nothing changes on their line.

How long does printing take for a drinks launch?

Production takes 4 to 7 working days after you approve the free proof, plus 2 to 3 working days for free tracked UK mainland delivery.

Can a juice bar order a short run of pyramid cartons for a tasting weekend?

Yes. Minimums are low and quoted per job, based on the pyramid size, any insert and the quantity, so a tasting weekend or a gift set launch can start with a modest run.
