Custom Printed Table Covers for Exhibition Stands

from £0.25 a coverPriced per job · low minimums

Custom printed table covers turn a plain trestle or folding table into a branded counter the moment you unfold them, which is why exhibitors pack one for every show. We print fitted, throw and runner styles in washable polyester and send them folded inside a printed box so they travel well between events.

A Table Is the First Thing Visitors See

Walk any exhibition hall and you will notice that most stands are built around a single table. Leaflets sit on it, samples are laid out on it and conversations happen across it. When that table is bare metal legs and a wipe-clean laminate top, the stand looks borrowed. A printed cover hides the legs, the spare stock and the bags you stuffed underneath, and puts your name at eye level for anyone walking past.

A good cover also does a quieter job. It gives the whole stand one colour block that pulls together the banner, the pull-up and the literature, so the space reads as one brand rather than a collection of items. For small businesses that cannot afford a built stand, a table cover is often the single biggest visual element they bring.

It also sets expectations. A sharp, well fitted cover tells a buyer that you pay attention to detail before they have picked up a single brochure. For a matching set, the same artwork also works on our printed vinyl banners.

Fitted, Throw or Runner: Choosing a Style

The style you pick depends on how formal the event is and how often you set up, much as the choice of a printed custom table tent does. Each one is cut from the same printable fabric, so the decision is about shape and handling rather than print quality.

  • Fitted covers are sewn to the exact length, width and height of your table, with boxed corners. They look fitted and do not slide about, which suits trade shows and conferences where photographs are taken; a printed A4 table tent on top finishes the set.
  • Throw covers drape over the top and fall to the floor on the front and sides, with an open or closed back. They fit a wider range of tables and are the easiest to fold.
  • Stretch covers grip the legs and frame tightly. They suit cocktail-height tables at receptions and product launches.
  • Runners lie across the middle of a plain cloth. They are the budget option when you already own plain covers and simply want a logo panel at the front.

Measuring Your Table Before You Order

Most exhibitors use a standard folding table, but standard is a loose word. A table sold as six foot can be anything from 1,800 mm to 1,830 mm long, and height varies between venue furniture and your own kit, so follow the guide to measuring your product and measure the table itself. Measure the length, the width and the height from floor to top, then tell us whether the back should be open for you to sit behind or closed all round.

If you use the hall's own tables, ask the organiser for the dimensions before you order. A throw cover with a generous drop forgives a few centimetres either way, while a fitted cover will look baggy on a smaller table and will not reach the floor on a taller one. When in doubt, a throw style is the safer choice for mixed venues.

Think too about what goes on top. A cover that falls to the floor will gather a little at the corners when you stack heavy sample cases on it, so leave a few centimetres of plain fabric round the top edge rather than running text right up to the fold. If you plan to fix a tablet stand or a card reader to the table, mention it and we can leave a plain strip where cables will run.

Print Placement That Works From the Aisle

People see a table cover from several metres away and usually at an angle, so the design needs to work in a glance. Put the logo on the front panel, centred and high enough that it is not hidden by a box of printed brochure booklets placed on the floor in front. A short line underneath, such as what you do or your web address, is plenty. Long lists of services rarely get read.

Dye sublimation print soaks into the polyester rather than sitting on top, so full-colour backgrounds, photographs and gradients are all possible without extra cost per colour. If your brand colour is a specific shade, send the reference and we will match it on the proof as closely as the fabric allows. Side panels can carry a smaller logo or stay plain, which keeps the cost down and lets the front panel do the talking.

Keep the design simple enough to survive a busy stand. Bold shapes and a strong contrast between logo and background read well under hall lighting, which is often harsh and slightly blue. Thin script fonts and pale grey text tend to disappear. If you are unsure, ask us to show two layouts on the proof, one with a full-colour background and one with a plain ground, and compare them side by side before you choose.

Fabric, Care and Getting Many Shows From One Cover

We print on a heavyweight polyester that hangs well, resists creasing and can be washed at a cool temperature. Hemmed edges stop fraying after repeated folding; the print and finish options compared page explains why sublimation suits fabric. Some halls set fabric rules in their stand regulations, so check your exhibitor manual and tell us what it asks for when you request a quote; we will confirm on the quote whether we can supply it.

To keep the print sharp, fold the cover with the printed side inwards, avoid ironing directly on the print and dry it flat or on a line. A cover treated this way can follow you round a full calendar of shows. Many exhibitors order two, one for the main stand and one spare for a second event running the same week.

Ask the Organiser for the Table Dimensions Before You Approve Artwork

A table cover is cut to a table you may never have seen, so the first email goes to the event organiser, not to us. Ask for the exact length, width and height of the venue tables, and whether the exhibitor manual sets any fabric rules, because a fitted cover made to a six foot table from your own kit will not sit right on a venue table 30 mm shorter. If the answer is vague, choose a throw style, which tolerates small differences. Decide on an open back if you will sit behind the table, and whether the sides carry the logo or stay plain.

Send the table size, the style and your artwork, ideally a vector logo, and a custom quote comes back within one working day. A free design proof shows the layout on a flat template before printing. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and free tracked delivery reaches UK mainland addresses in 2 to 3 working days, so leave a margin before the show. Exhibitors who dress the whole stand usually add printed A3 posters in the same artwork.

Printed Table Covers Questions

What buyers ask before ordering printed table covers.

Will a fitted cover work on the venue's own tables?

Only if the venue tables match the size we cut it to. Ask the organiser for exact dimensions before ordering, or choose a throw style that tolerates small differences in length and height.

Can I sit behind the table with a closed-back cover?

You can, but your legs will push against the fabric and it will look untidy. Most exhibitors choose an open back so they can reach stock and sit comfortably while the front still hides everything.

What if the venue has rules about stand fabrics?

Many halls list fabric rules in the exhibitor manual. Tell us what yours asks for when you request a quote, and we will confirm on the quote whether we can supply a fabric that meets it.

How should I wash a printed table cover?

Wash it at a cool setting with mild detergent and dry it flat or on a line. Avoid ironing directly on the print; iron on the reverse at a low heat if you need to remove creases.

What artwork do you need from me?

A vector logo is ideal, along with any background images at good resolution. If you only have a flat image, send it anyway and we will advise on the proof whether it will print sharply at this size.

Can the logo go on the sides as well as the front?

Yes. Side panels can repeat the logo or carry a web address. Some clients prefer plain sides so the front panel carries the design, which also keeps the custom quote lower.

Do you match brand colours exactly?

We match from a Pantone reference as closely as the fabric allows. Sublimated polyester renders colours slightly differently from paper, so the free proof is the place to fine-tune the shade.

Can I order a runner instead of a full cover?

Yes. A runner lies across a plain cloth and carries your logo on the front drop. It is a good choice if you already own plain covers and want a lower-cost branded element.

Why does a table cover come in a box?

A printed box keeps the folded cover clean between shows and makes it easy to spot among stand kit. Agencies also use the box to present the cover to clients as a finished item.

I have a show in two weeks. Is that enough time?

Usually, yes. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after proof approval, and free tracked UK mainland delivery takes 2 to 3 working days. Approve the proof promptly and tell us the show date when you ask for a quote.

Can I order covers in different sizes with the same design?

Yes. Send each table size and we will adapt the artwork to every panel, showing all versions on the proof so the logo sits in the same visual position on each one.
