Custom Perfume Gift Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

Custom perfume gift boxes hold a fragrance alongside the pieces that turn it into a present, such as a matching body lotion, a shower gel or a travel spray. Each box is built around your bottles with a fitted insert, so the set arrives looking exactly as it did on your display table.

From Single Bottle to Gift Set

A perfume bottle on its own already has a carton. A gift set needs something more: a box large enough to hold two or three products side by side, structured enough to keep heavy glass from moving, and attractive enough that the buyer does not feel the need to wrap it. That is the job of a perfume gift box.

The most popular combination is a full-size fragrance with a matching body lotion in the same scent. Others pair a fragrance with a travel atomiser, a scented candle or a hand cream. Because each pairing is a different shape, the inside of the box matters more than the outside. A well cut insert makes three unrelated shapes look like a planned collection.

Gift sets also solve a commercial problem for fragrance brands. A customer who would hesitate over a second product on its own will often choose a set that includes it, because the bundle feels generous and is easier to give. The box is what makes that bundle feel deliberate rather than two items dropped into a bag, so it is worth giving it as much thought as the scent itself.

Box Styles for Perfume Gift Sets

Rigid boxes with a lift-off lid are the classic option, giving a heavy, premium feel that justifies the price of a fragrance set. A book-style box with a magnetic flap opens like a cover, revealing the products in a single movement, and the inside of the flap can carry a message or the scent notes. Drawer boxes slide open from the side, which feels playful and works for smaller sets such as a mini perfume and a lip balm.

For brands that want to post gift sets without an outer shipper, a printed corrugated mailer with an insert offers strong protection with a reasonable weight. A window lid lets shoppers see the set without opening the box, which helps on a busy counter. p1 The magnetic flap version is shown on our perfume boxes with magnetic lids page.

Inserts That Hold Glass and Lotion Tubes

Perfume bottles are heavy and often have unusual shapes, from faceted glass to round flacons with a large cap. Lotion tubes and bottles are lighter and softer. A good insert holds each piece snugly at the same height so the set looks balanced. Foam inserts give the most precise fit and protect glass well, while card inserts with die-cut recesses look neat and are lighter to post.

Covering a foam insert in satin, velvet or a printed paper wrap gives the inside of the box a finished look. For heavier bottles, we add a raised platform under the bottle so it sits level with a shorter lotion tube beside it. A small ribbon pull beneath each product makes them easy to lift out. p1 Foam options are shown on our foam inserts page with examples for glass.

Measuring Your Set

Measure each product separately: the height with the cap on, the widest point of the bottle and the depth front to back. Then arrange the products as you want them displayed, measure the full footprint, and allow space for the insert walls between items. If the products differ greatly in height, decide between one shared top level, using platforms, and a stepped layout for a more dynamic look.

Send us one of each product if you can. Unusual bottle shapes, such as a bottle with a tilted cap, are easier to fit accurately from a physical sample than from a drawing.

Remember that the outer box size also decides how many sets fit on a shelf, in a shipping carton and on a pallet. A box that is only a little larger than it needs to be can mean fewer sets per carton and higher delivery costs for every stockist. Once the insert layout is agreed, we trim the outer dimensions as closely as the products and the insert allow. p2 The guide to measuring a product covers sets of several items.

Print and Finishing Ideas

Fragrance brands usually lean towards restrained print with one or two special finishes. A deep colour wrap, a logo in hot foil and a soft-touch lamination give an understated, luxurious result. Some brands print the scent family or key notes on the inside of the lid, so the set tells its story when opened.

Embossing the logo or a pattern adds a tactile layer. Spot gloss on a pattern over a matt background catches light as the box is turned. Metallic or pearlescent papers create a shimmering wrap without any print at all, which suits minimalist fragrance branding.

Colour choice is worth testing against the bottle itself. A box wrap that matches the liquid or the cap colour ties the set together, while a contrasting wrap frames the bottle when the lid comes off. If you produce several scents, a shared box structure in a different wrap colour for each fragrance gives a coordinated range that is easy to recognise on a counter, and it lets you reorder a single scent without changing the rest. p2 Finishes on dark wraps are compared in the guide to print and finish options.

Who Orders Perfume Gift Boxes

Independent perfumers create gift sets to raise the average order value and to give customers a ready-made present. Body care brands use them to bundle a fragrance with their lotions and gels. Department store concessions, boutique hotels with their own signature scent and corporate gifting companies also order them. Wedding planners sometimes commission small fragrance gift boxes for bridal party presents.

Whatever the buyer, the box is often given unwrapped, which means it is judged as the gift itself. That raises the standard for print, fit and finish. p1 Sample vials for a discovery set are boxed separately on our perfume sample boxes page.

Decide Level Tops or Stepped Heights Before the Insert Is Cut

A perfume gift set nearly always mixes heights: a 100 ml bottle beside a 200 ml lotion tube beside a travel spray. The insert can bring them to one level with platforms or let them step down, and that decision changes the box depth, so make it before anything is drawn. Then measure each piece with its cap on at its widest point, arrange them as displayed, and send the footprint with a photo.

Post us one of each product if a bottle has a tilted cap or a faceted body, since inserts for those shapes are cut from the real object. Say if the set is posted or sold over a counter, which decides foam or card. The custom quote arrives by email within one working day, with the minimum set per job.

The free proof shows the outer box, the insert layout and any foil; we trim the outer size as close as the insert allows so more sets fit a carton. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and the boxes reach UK mainland addresses by free tracked delivery. Houses with a sampler set add collection boxes for several fragrances in the same wrap.

Perfume Gift Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering perfume gift boxes.

Can a perfume gift box hold a lotion tube as well as a bottle?

Yes. The insert is cut to hold both shapes side by side, with a platform under the shorter item if you want the tops to line up.

Foam or card insert, which is better for glass bottles?

Foam gives the tightest fit and the most protection for heavy glass. Card inserts look neat and weigh less, which suits lighter sets or boxes that will be posted.

Can I post the gift box without an outer carton?

A printed corrugated mailer with an insert can be posted on its own. Rigid gift boxes should go inside a shipper to protect the wrap.

How do I measure an unusual bottle shape?

Measure height with the cap on, the widest point and the depth. For complex shapes, sending a sample bottle gives the most accurate fit.

Can the scent notes be printed inside the lid of a perfume gift box?

Yes. The inside of a lift-off lid or a magnetic flap is the usual place for the scent family and the top, heart and base notes, so the set tells its story as it opens. It prints on the same wrap, so there is no extra pass.

Can I add a window so the set shows on the counter?

A window lid lets shoppers see the products without opening the box. We position it on your proof to frame the set.

Which finishes suit fragrance branding?

Soft-touch lamination with a foil logo is a popular, understated choice. Embossing and spot gloss add texture and shine where you want them.

Can products be lifted out easily?

We can add ribbon pulls or finger notches under each item so they lift out without disturbing the insert. Satin ribbon suits a velvet-covered foam insert.

Can I use the same box for different scents?

Yes. Many brands use one box design and change a small label or insert card for each scent, which keeps the order simpler.

What happens if a perfume gift box arrives with a scuffed wrap?

Report it within 10 days with a photo and we reprint or refund the affected boxes. Rigid boxes travel nested inside outer cartons, so scuffs are rare, and the undamaged boxes stay with you.
