Custom Golf Ball Display Boxes
Custom golf ball display boxes hold golf balls in neat rows and show them off, either through a clear window or in an open tray that sits on a pro shop counter. They are used by ball brands for retail packs, by pro shops for logo ball sales and by companies giving branded balls at golf days.

Why Display Matters for Golf Balls
Golf balls are bought by people who care about detail. They look closely at the dimple pattern, the cover finish, the logo and the colour, and they compare one model with another at the counter. A plain sleeve or a cardboard tube hides all of that. A display box shows the balls themselves, lined up in rows, so the customer sees exactly what they are buying and the brand looks confident about its product.
For logo balls, the display is even more important. A company that has paid to have its logo printed on a dozen balls wants that logo visible when the box is opened at a golf day or handed to a client. A window or open tray makes sure every ball shows its print, facing forward in its own seat.
Display boxes also help pro shops sell up. A premium ball shown in a smart window box next to the till looks like a considered purchase, and golfers who would grab a cheap sleeve often trade up when they can see the quality of the cover and the print. Clubs selling balls with their own crest find the box turns a practical item into a gift visitors take home.
Display Styles
The most common retail pack is a dozen box holding four sleeves of three balls, but display boxes take a different approach: each ball sits in its own cradle in a single layer or in a grid, so they are all visible at once. A window lid shows the balls while keeping them protected. An open counter tray holds a quantity of balls for loose sale at the pro shop till. Presentation boxes with hinged lids show a set of balls on a padded insert, often with a tee set or marker alongside. Everyday sleeves and dozens sell in our plain golf ball boxes for sleeves without a window.

Inserts That Seat Each Ball
A golf ball is round, smooth and fairly heavy for its size, so it needs a proper seat. Card inserts with circular cut-outs hold each ball partly below the deck, so it cannot roll but is still easy to lift out. Foam inserts with cupped recesses grip more firmly and suit presentation boxes. Thermoformed trays are an option for large retail runs.
The layout of the insert changes the look of the box. A single row of three or four balls makes a slim, elegant gift. A grid of three by four shows a full dozen at once. A circular or diamond pattern makes a more playful counter display. We will match the insert to the box style and the number of balls you sell.
Card inserts are the most economical choice and can be printed in the same colours as the box, which keeps the whole pack looking coordinated. Foam inserts cost more but make a heavier, more luxurious impression in presentation boxes, where the box may be kept on a desk or a shelf long after the balls have been played. Premium sets use foam inserts with cupped recesses so each ball sits in its own well.
Sizing for a Standard Ball
Golf balls are a standard size, a little under 43 mm in diameter, which makes sizing straightforward. The cut-out in a card insert is set slightly smaller than the ball so it rests securely, and the spacing between balls leaves enough card to keep the insert strong. Box depth is set so the ball sits under the lid without touching the window film.
If you include extras such as tees, a ball marker or a divot repair item, measure those as well. They are usually placed in a slot along the side or at the end of the insert, so they are visible but do not get in the way of the balls.
Coloured and matt-finish balls are the same size, so one insert suits your whole range. Our guide on how to measure a ball with its logo up explains the depth a window lid needs.
Print for Pro Shops and Brands
Golf packaging tends to look clean and sporty: plenty of white or a strong brand colour, sharp typography and a clear product name. Pro shops often add their club crest or course name, which turns a box of balls into a souvenir for visitors. Corporate golf day boxes carry the company logo on the lid and sometimes the event name and date, so they become keepsakes from the day.
Finishes that suit the category include matt lamination for a modern feel, gloss for strong colours and foil for a club crest or premium ball range. Spot UV on the ball image or brand mark adds a subtle highlight.
If you run several ball models, a shared box design with a colour band per model keeps the range clear on the shelf and makes restocking easy for staff, who can find the right box by colour at a glance. Our finish guide shows foil stamping on a crest compared with print.
Golf Days and Corporate Gifts
For corporate golf days, the box is part of the hospitality. A presentation box with a hinged lid, a padded insert and a few logo balls makes an impressive welcome gift at registration or a prize at the end of the day. Pair it with tees and a marker in the same branding for a complete set.
Plan the numbers early. Golf days usually have a fixed number of players, so order the boxes with a small margin for guests and prizes. Rigid presentation boxes arrive made up, so allow storage space and packing time before the event, especially if the balls are being printed separately and need to be boxed on site. Company golf days often pair the box with corporate gift boxes for golf days holding a towel and tees.
Send Two Sample Balls and Say Which Way the Logo Faces
Golf balls are a standard size, but the insert that seats them is not, so the most useful thing to send is two sample balls with the logo already printed and a note on which way the logo should face in the window: up for a lid window, forward for a front window. Decide how many balls per box, from a three-ball sleeve to a full dozen in a three by four grid, and whether tees and a marker need a slot along the edge. Pro shops usually want a window box that can hang or stand; corporate days want a hinged presentation box with a foam insert and a foiled crest. A matching plain golf ball box for sleeves covers everyday sales.
Tell us the ball count, style, extras and quantity, and a custom quote comes by email within one working day. The free proof shows the insert with every ball position marked. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval, boxes arrive by tracked courier to UK mainland addresses, and inserts that differ from the proof or arrive damaged can be reported within 10 days for a reprint or refund.

Golf Ball Display Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering golf ball display boxes.
How are golf balls held in a display box?
Each ball sits in a circular cut-out in a card insert or a cupped recess in a foam insert. That stops rolling while keeping balls easy to lift out.
Can a display box hold a full dozen?
Yes. A three by four grid shows twelve balls at once in a single layer. It suits retail and corporate gifts.
Can I include tees and a ball marker?
Yes. A slot along the side or end of the insert holds tees, a marker or a divot repair item.
Which box suits a corporate golf day?
A hinged presentation box with a padded insert and logo balls makes an impressive welcome gift or prize.
Will the window film touch the balls?
No. We set the box depth so the balls sit just under the lid without touching the film.
Can the club crest be foil stamped?
Yes. Foil stamping a club crest on the lid gives a premium, souvenir feel.
Do you make open trays for the pro shop counter?
Yes. Open counter trays hold loose balls for impulse sales at the till.
Can display boxes hang on retail hooks?
A hang tab can be added to smaller window boxes so they hang on hooks.
Can the box show the logo on each ball?
Yes. Inserts can seat each ball with its logo facing up or forward through the window.
How long should I allow before a golf day?
Production takes 4–7 working days after proof approval, and free tracked UK mainland delivery takes 2–3 working days. Allow time to box the balls before the event.
What if the balls roll loose in the insert when the box arrives?
If the insert differs from the cut-out sizes on the approved proof, report it within 10 days with a photo and we reprint or refund the affected boxes. Sending sample balls before the proof is the surest way to avoid a loose fit.
