Freezer conditions are hard on board: condensation forms when the box comes out of the freezer, and the carton can soften or the ink can scuff. A moisture-resistant coating on the board and a laminated or varnished outer face keep the box looking clean in a supermarket freezer.

Size the carton snugly around the stack of waffles so it does not crush in a freezer cabinet, and leave room for a bag or inner wrap if the waffles are sealed separately.

Freezer shelves are crowded and cold, and shoppers rarely hold the door open for long. A bold front with the product name in large type and a clear photo of a cooked waffle helps your carton be picked quickly. Sizing Custom Waffle Boxes

Waffle sizes vary with the iron. Square Brussels waffles, round American waffles, rectangular Liège waffles and bubble waffles each need a different footprint. Measure your actual waffle, then add space for toppings in height and a little margin on each side so the waffle can be lifted out with a fork.
