Custom Bangle Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

A bangle is a closed circle, so it needs a box that holds it on its edge rather than letting it rattle flat in a corner. Our custom bangle boxes are built around a raised roll, a slotted riser or a deep cushion so each bangle sits upright, catches the light and arrives without a scratch.

Why Bangles Need Their Own Box

Rings and earrings sit happily on a slit pad in a small earring box, and a necklace can be laid out on a card. Bangles are different. They are rigid, they cannot be bent to fit, and a set of glass or gold-plated bangles will chip or rub against each other if they slide around. The box has to keep them separated and still, while letting the customer see the full curve the moment the lid comes off.

That is why most bangle packaging uses a fitted interior rather than loose tissue. A padded roll that the bangles slip over, or a riser with two or three slots cut into it, keeps each piece at the same angle. The bangles then stand in a neat row, which looks far better on a shop counter than a pile of metal in a plain carton.

Sellers of traditional sets often pack six, eight or twelve bangles together for a bride or a matching outfit. A long box with a single roll suits these sets, while a square box with a cushion suits a single statement bangle or a pair.

Choosing the Interior: Roll, Slot or Cushion

The interior decides how the bangles are presented, so we usually settle it before talking about print, just as we do for bracelet boxes with a cushion. Each option has its place, and the right one depends on how many bangles go in and how thick they are.

A velvet or satin roll runs the length of the box. Bangles hang over it like rings on a rail, so a set of twelve thin bangles sits in a tidy row. For chunky kadas or cuffs, a shorter roll or a wider gap between the walls gives the extra room they need. A slotted riser, cut from card or foam, holds each bangle in its own groove and is the better choice for glass and lac bangles that must not touch.

  • Single roll: sets of thin metal or glass bangles in a long box
  • Twin rolls: two rows of bangles for matching pairs or mixed sets
  • Slotted riser: fragile glass, lac or stone-set bangles kept apart
  • Domed cushion: one statement bangle or cuff in a square box
  • Flat foam with cut-outs: kada sets and men's bracelets

Sizing a Bangle Box Correctly

Bangle sizes are usually given by inner diameter, and most adult bangles fall somewhere between 55 mm and 70 mm inside. Add the thickness of the metal or glass on both sides and you have the outer diameter, which sets the internal height and width of the box; the guide to measuring a product for a box covers the clearance to add. Leave a few millimetres of clearance above the bangle so the lid does not press on stones or enamel.

Length depends on how many bangles share the roll. Thin bangles stack closely, so twelve might need only 60 mm of roll, while thicker kadas need much more. The easiest way to size the box is to send us the outer diameter and the thickness of your largest bangle, plus the number you want in each set. We work the internal measurements out from there and show them on the proof.

Children's bangles and baby kadas are much smaller, often under 45 mm inside, so if you sell those too it is worth ordering a separate compact box. A tiny bangle rolling around in an adult-sized box looks lost, whereas a snug box makes it feel like a proper gift for a naming ceremony or a first birthday.

Box Styles That Suit Jewellery Shops

A rigid two-piece box with a lift-off lid is the most common choice for gold and silver bangles. It has a solid feel in the hand and protects well. A hinged rigid box with a magnetic closure suits higher-value sets where the customer will keep the box afterwards for storage.

Folding card boxes cost less and ship flat, which helps sellers who send bangles by post or sell at markets. A sturdy tuck box with a card roll inside still holds the bangles upright, and it can sit inside a mailer without adding much bulk. Drawer boxes, where the tray slides out from a printed sleeve, are popular with boutiques because the slide-out moment feels like part of the gift.

Whichever style you pick, think about how the box will be stored. Rigid boxes take up shelf space before they are used, while folding cartons arrive flat and are assembled as needed.

Print, Colour and Finishing Touches

Many jewellers keep the outside simple: a deep colour such as maroon, emerald or navy, with the shop name in gold or silver foil on the lid. The bright metal against a dark ground echoes the bangles themselves. Others prefer a pattern printed edge to edge, inspired by textiles or traditional motifs, which turns the box into part of the gift.

Inside, a velvet roll in a contrasting colour sets the bangles off, as it does in our velvet-lined jewellery boxes. Black velvet suits gold, cream suits silver and coloured glass, and red is a classic choice for bridal sets. A printed message under the lid, such as care instructions or a short thank-you, gives customers a reason to keep the box.

Embossing the logo, spot gloss on a pattern, or a soft-touch laminate on the wrap paper all add a tactile quality that customers notice when they pick the box up.

Stack the Set on a Ruler to Find the Box Length

Bangle sets are sized by stacking. Put the bangles for one box side by side on a ruler, pressed together as they will sit on a roll, and read off the total width; that figure plus a few millimetres for the roll ends is the internal length. The widest bangle's outer diameter sets the height and depth. Do this for the largest set you sell rather than the typical one. Then choose the interior: a velvet roll for mixed sizes, a slotted riser for glass that must not touch, a cushion for a single statement piece.

Send the measurements and artwork, or just a description of the look you want, and a custom quote comes back by email within one working day, minimums quoted per job so a small jeweller can test a design first. The free design proof shows the box dimensions, the interior and the print. Production takes 4 to 7 working days after approval and free tracked delivery reaches UK mainland addresses in 2 to 3 working days. Jewellers who sell chains with their bangles usually add necklace boxes in the same wrap to the order.

Bangle Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering bangle boxes.

How do I measure a bangle for the box?

Measure the outer diameter across the widest point and the thickness of the band. Send us both, along with how many bangles go in each box. We size the interior from those figures and show the measurements on your proof.

Can one box size fit bangles of different diameters?

Usually, yes. A box sized for your largest bangle with a roll slightly narrower than your smallest bangle will hold the whole range securely. If the gap between your sizes is very wide, we may suggest two box sizes instead.

Which interior is best for glass bangles?

A slotted riser that holds each bangle in its own groove is best, because glass chips when pieces rub together. A soft velvet roll also works for thin glass sets if the bangles are packed snugly so they cannot slide.

Can you make a box for a full bridal set?

Yes. A long rigid box with one or two velvet rolls holds a large bridal set in neat rows. Tell us how many bangles are in the set and their thickness, and we work out the length needed.

Can the velvet roll be a different colour from the box?

Yes, and a contrast often looks best. Black or navy velvet makes gold bangles glow, while cream suits silver and coloured glass. We can match the roll to your brand colour if you send a reference.

Is foil printing worth it on bangle boxes?

For jewellery it usually is, because a gold or silver foil logo ties the box to the metal inside. It works on most wrap papers and adds little to the unit cost on a moderate run.

Can I post bangles in these boxes?

Rigid bangle boxes are strong, but for posting we suggest placing them inside a small mailer box. Folding bangle boxes are lighter and slip easily into padded envelopes or mailers for online orders.

Can I order 100 bangle boxes with a velvet roll?

Yes. Minimums are low and set per job, depending on the box style and interior, and a run of that size with a velvet roll is normal for an independent jeweller. Send the details and the minimum is confirmed in your custom quote, which arrives by email within one working day.

Will I see the box before it is made?

Yes. Every order comes with a free design proof showing the dimensions, interior layout and artwork placement. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

How soon can I have bangle boxes in my shop?

Production takes four to seven working days after you approve the proof, and UK mainland delivery is free, tracked and takes two to three working days. Rigid boxes with special interiors sit towards the longer end of that range.

What happens if a velvet roll arrives loose inside the box?

Report it within 10 days of delivery with a photo and we reprint or refund the affected boxes. The rolls are glued to the base board, so a loose one is a fault rather than a design feature, and the rest of the run should be checked when it lands.
