Custom Double Burger Boxes
Custom double burger boxes are deeper clamshells and lidded boxes built for stacked patties, melting cheese and towering toppings. They give smash burger joints and gourmet burger kitchens a box that closes without crushing the bun and arrives looking as good as it did at the pass.

When a Standard Box Is Too Shallow
A single patty burger fits almost any burger box. Add a second patty, two slices of cheese, bacon, onion rings and a brioche bun, and the stack can easily double in height. Squeeze that into a standard clamshell and the lid presses down on the top bun, the sauce oozes out of the sides and the whole thing slides over when the box is tipped.
Gourmet and smash burger kitchens put a lot of care into how their burgers look. A crushed, lopsided burger in a box that barely closes undoes that effort and leads to disappointing photos being shared online. A deeper box designed for double stacks protects the shape and lets the burger arrive upright.
The extra height also helps with heat. A little air above the burger lets steam rise away from the bun rather than soaking straight into it.
Delivery makes the problem worse. A burger that leaves the kitchen looking perfect still has to survive a rider's bag, a few corners and a set of stairs. In a box that fits properly, the burger stays put and the toppings stay on; in a tight box, every bump presses the lid down a little further.
Measuring Your Double Burger Boxes
Build your tallest burger, the one with every extra, and measure it. Take the width across the bun and the height from the base to the top of the bun, including any skewer or pick. We add clearance on top so the lid never touches, and a little width so the burger can be placed without squashing its sides.
Many kitchens find their double burgers need around 100 mm to 130 mm of internal height. If you also sell triple stacks or towers held with a skewer, a taller box or one with a raised lid is the answer.
Consider whether one size can cover your whole menu. A box sized for the double burger may look empty with a single, so some kitchens use two sizes, while others use one tall box and accept a little extra space for singles.
Test the box during a real service if you can. Pack a double burger, leave it for the length of an average delivery, then open it. If the cheese has stuck to the lid or the stack has leaned, the box needs more height or a slightly smaller footprint to stop sliding. If the stack is taller still, the tall burger boxes for triple stacks go a step further.

Box Styles for Tall Burgers
Deep clamshells fold from one sheet and lock at the front. They are quick to assemble and easy to eat from. Lidded boxes with a separate top lift straight up, which protects tall stacks and toppings. Window boxes with a clear panel let customers see the burger, popular for premium menus and food markets.
For delivery, a deeper box in corrugated board holds heat and resists being squashed in a delivery bag. For counter service, folding board is lighter and prints sharper colours.
Some kitchens wrap burgers in printed greaseproof paper before boxing. The wrap holds the stack together and catches drips, while the box protects the shape. If you plan to wrap, allow a few extra millimetres in width.

Vents, Grease and Board
Double burgers carry more fat and sauce than single ones, so a grease-resistant coating on the inside of the box is important. It keeps oil inside and stops it showing through the printed outside, and board suitable for direct food contact can be supplied if you ask.
Vent holes in the lid let steam escape so the bun does not go soggy. We place them away from your logo and near the top of the box, where steam collects.
Corrugated board holds heat better and resists crushing, which suits delivery. Folding board is lighter and suits counter and table service. Kraft board gives a rugged look that suits grill and smokehouse brands.
Heavier double burgers can make thin board flex when the box is lifted from one side. A slightly heavier board, or corrugated for delivery, keeps the base flat and stops the burger tipping as the box is handed over.
Branding a Burger Box
A burger box is opened at the table, and the first view is the inside of the lid and the burger itself. A clean, uncluttered inside lets the burger take centre stage in photos. Your logo on the outside of the lid and a pattern on the sides make the box recognisable in a delivery bag or on a table.
Bold one or two colour printing on kraft board is cost-effective and suits many burger brands. Full colour printing works well for illustrated designs and chains with bright brand colours.
A short line inside the lid, such as a social handle or a prompt to share a photo, is often read while people eat.
Colour can carry your brand when the logo is small. A box in one bold signature colour is instantly recognisable on a crowded delivery app photo or a festival table, even from across the field.
Who Orders Deep Burger Boxes
Smash burger joints, gourmet burger restaurants, food trucks, pub kitchens, steakhouses selling burgers to take away, dark kitchens on delivery apps and event caterers at festivals and street food markets all use double burger boxes.
Pop-up kitchens doing limited runs of a special burger often order a short batch of boxes for that menu, sometimes in a different colour from their regular box.
Burger competitions and pop-up collaborations are another use. Chefs teaming up for a one-off menu often want a special box that carries both names, printed in a short run for the event.
Takeaways that sell loaded fries or wings alongside their burgers sometimes order the same deep box for those items too, keeping stock simple and branding consistent.
Pricing and Delivery
Send your burger dimensions, preferred style and weekly usage, and we email a custom quote within one working day. Printed food boxes start from £0.25 each depending on size and quantity, with low minimums quoted per job.
We provide a free design proof showing the dieline, vents and artwork. After approval, production is 4 to 7 working days, and the boxes, packed flat, reach UK mainland kitchens on free tracked delivery in 2 to 3 working days. Report any misprints or damage within 10 days for a reprint or refund.
Keep a small reserve of boxes for busy weekends, as running out mid-service means falling back on plain boxes that do not carry your brand.

Double Burger Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering double burger boxes.
How tall should a double burger box be?
Most double burgers need around 100 to 130 mm of internal height. Measure your tallest burger and we add clearance so the lid does not touch.
Can the box fit a burger with a skewer?
Yes, a taller box or one with a raised lid allows for skewers and picks.
Will the bun go soggy in a deep box?
Vent holes in the lid let steam escape, and the extra height keeps the bun away from condensation on the lid.
Should I choose corrugated or folding board?
Corrugated suits delivery because it holds heat and resists crushing. Folding board suits counter service and prints sharper colours.
Can one box size cover single and double burgers?
Some kitchens use one tall box for both. Others use two sizes so single burgers do not look lost.
Will grease show through?
Not with a grease-resistant coating on the inside, which keeps oil from reaching the printed outside.
Can I add a window to show the burger?
Yes, a clear film window works well at food markets and for premium menus.
Can I print inside the lid?
Yes, a short message or social handle inside the lid is seen while people eat.
Can I order a short run for a special burger?
Yes, minimums are quoted per job, so short runs for specials are possible.
How much do printed double burger boxes cost?
Printed food boxes start from £0.25 each depending on size and quantity. We send a custom quote by email within one working day.
