Custom Textile Boxes
Custom textile boxes present bedding, towels, throws and fabric sets as a finished product rather than a folded pile in a plastic bag. A large window lets shoppers see and often touch the weave, while the printed panels explain thread count, sizes and care in a way the fabric cannot.

Why Home Textiles Need a Proper Box
Bedding and towels are bought largely by feel and colour. In a shop, customers want to see the exact shade and the texture of the fabric; online, they want the item to arrive looking like the photograph, not crumpled. A sturdy, well-sized box does both. It holds folds crisply, stacks neatly on shelves and gives the product a sense of value that a bag never quite manages.
A box also carries information that matters for these purchases. Duvet cover sets need bed size, pillowcase count and fabric composition. Towel sets need weight, size and colour name. Throws and blankets need dimensions and care. All of this can be printed on the box panels, so the shopper does not need to unfold anything to check.
For gift buyers, a boxed set is simply easier to give. A windowed box of towels or a linen set needs only a ribbon to be ready.
There is a practical benefit for the retailer too. Boxed textiles stay cleaner on the shop floor, because handled bags of towels quickly look tired and creased, while a box shields everything except the window. Throws and blankets that are sold rolled rather than folded are boxed on our blanket boxes for rolled throws page.
Window Styles for Fabric
Windows are the defining feature of most textile boxes. The size and position decide how much of the product is visible and whether customers can touch it.
Open cut-outs do mean the fabric near the window gets handled a lot, so many brands use a film window on lighter colours and keep open cut-outs for darker or textured fabrics that hide fingerprints.
- Large front window covered with clear film: shows colour and pattern while keeping the product clean.
- Open cut-out without film: lets shoppers feel the fabric, popular for towels and knitted throws.
- Top lid window: suits shallow boxes stacked flat on a shelf or table.
- Corner or edge window: shows the stitching or border detail of a premium set.
- Multiple small windows: preview each item in a mixed set, such as a sheet and two pillowcases.

Sizing Custom Textile Boxes to Folded Products
Fold the product exactly as it will be sold and measure the folded bundle, including any card insert or tissue. Textiles compress and spring back, so measure it lightly pressed rather than squashed. Add a few millimetres to each dimension so it slides in without dragging the fabric.
Consistent folding across a range makes boxes simpler. If single, double and king duvet sets are all folded to the same footprint and only the thickness changes, you can use one box design with different depths. That also gives a tidy, even shelf when the sizes sit side by side.
Heavier items such as bath sheets or weighted blankets need a deeper, stronger box. Tell us the weight and we will suggest board and construction to suit.
It is worth folding several pieces from different production batches before settling on a size. Fabric weights vary slightly between batches, and a box sized to the thinnest set can feel tight on a heavier one. Our guide to measuring soft products for a box explains the light-press method.
Board, Construction and Finish
Smaller sets such as napkins, tea towels and hand towels sit well in folding boxboard cartons. Bedding and larger towel sets usually need a heavier board or a light corrugated construction to hold their shape when stacked. Two-piece lid and base boxes give a more premium feel for gift sets and luxury bedding.
Print covers the outside, often with a photograph of the product in use on one panel and technical details on another. Matt lamination suits soft, calm home brands and resists scuffing from handling. Foil and embossing on the brand name lift premium lines. Many textile brands choose an off-white or natural board to echo the feel of cotton and linen.
Textile buyers often read the side panels in store, so keep technical details such as fibre content and dimensions in a clear, consistent layout on every box in the range. If you sell into hotels or trade accounts as well as retail, a simpler one-colour version of the same box can keep trade packaging costs down without changing sizes. The board and finish comparison page shows off-white and natural boards beside white.
Inserts and Presentation Inside
A plain box can let folded fabric slump to one side. A simple card insert, folded to wrap the product or to sit behind it, keeps folds crisp and the window view neat. For sets, an insert can separate items, such as sheets in one section and pillowcases in another.
Tissue paper wrapped around the fabric protects it from dust and adds a moment of care when opened. A printed card with care instructions and a short brand story sits well inside the lid.
For hotel and trade supply, inserts can be skipped entirely to keep costs down, as those boxes are opened by staff rather than shoppers.
Retail Shelves and Online Orders
Home stores and department-style retailers stack textile boxes on open shelving or in bays, so strong end panels with size and colour clearly printed help staff and shoppers find the right one. A sticker area for barcodes and colour names lets one design cover many colourways.
For online orders, boxes travel inside a shipping carton. A box with a film-covered window rather than an open cut-out is usually better here, as it stops dust and keeps the fabric protected. Some brands ship windowless boxes online and windowed boxes to shops, using the same printed design for both.
Marketplaces and large online retailers sometimes have their own packaging rules for textiles, so check their requirements before choosing between window and windowless versions. Folded clothing sold through the same retailers uses our apparel boxes with lids, which share the end-panel layout.
Fold Sets From Two Batches Before Fixing the Depth
Fabric weight drifts between production runs, so fold sets from at least two batches, measure each bundle lightly pressed, and size the box to the thicker one. Keep a single footprint across single, double and king sets and vary only the depth; the shelf then reads as one range. Decide the window by where the box is sold: film over the opening for online orders and pale fabrics, an open cut-out for towels and throws that customers want to touch in store.
Send the folded sizes and weights, the window style, the quantity by size and colour, and a photo of the folded product so the window can be placed over the best part. A custom quote comes back by email within one working day, with boxes from £0.25 and minimums quoted per job. The free proof shows the window cut and the artwork together. Production takes 4–7 working days after approval and tracked delivery to UK mainland addresses is free, taking 2–3 working days, with larger boxes arriving flat. Misprinted or damaged boxes reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded. Duvet sets that need the deepest box are sized on our bedding boxes for duvet sets page.

Textile Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering textile boxes.
Will an open cut-out leave fingerprints on a white towel set?
Over a few weeks on a busy shop floor, yes, which is why we suggest film over the window for pale colours and open cut-outs for darker or textured fabrics. A card insert behind the window keeps the visible fold flat so the film sits clean. The proof shows the window over your folded product.
How do I measure folded bedding?
Fold it exactly as sold, measure lightly pressed rather than squashed, and add a few millimetres all round. Measure a set from a second batch too, because fabric weight varies.
Can one box design cover several bed sizes?
Yes, if the sets fold to the same footprint. We keep the design and vary the depth.
Which board suits heavy towel sets?
A heavier boxboard or E-flute corrugated board holds its shape when stacked and handled. Tell us the weight of the set and we pick the grade.
Can I use one design for many colours?
Yes. Print a shared design and add a colour name and barcode sticker for each colourway.
Do I need an insert?
An insert keeps folds crisp behind the window and separates items in a set. It is a small cost that improves presentation.
Is a lid and base box worth it for bedding?
For premium and gift sets, yes. It feels more substantial and the lid lifts off for a better reveal.
Where should the care instructions go?
On a side or back panel, or on a printed card inside, so they stay with the product after the box is gone. Keep the wash symbols at the same size and position on every box in the range.
Can textile boxes be posted?
They travel best inside a shipping carton. Film-covered windows are safer than open cut-outs for online orders.
What finish suits a natural linen brand?
An off-white or natural board with matt print and minimal ink coverage echoes the feel of linen and cotton. A blind-embossed logo adds texture without adding colour.
Can I add a ribbon for gift sets?
Yes, we can add ribbon slots in the lid or side panels so a ribbon threads through neatly. The slots are placed clear of the window so the bow does not cover the fabric.
