Custom Influencer Boxes

from £0.25 a boxPriced per job · low minimums

Custom influencer boxes are the PR packages beauty, fashion and lifestyle brands send to creators, journalists and tastemakers in the hope that they will open them on camera. Everything about the box, from the outer mailer to the insert and the handwritten-style card, is designed for that moment of reveal.

Packaging Built for the Camera

An ordinary shipping box is meant to be thrown away. An influencer box is meant to be filmed. Creators unbox products for their followers, and the packaging often appears on screen longer than the products themselves. A box that opens with drama, reveals products in a satisfying order and looks beautiful from above earns far more attention than a plain carton of samples.

That makes the influencer box a marketing asset rather than a cost of shipping. Brands use it to launch new collections, build relationships with creators and generate content they could never afford to shoot themselves.

The box also signals respect. A creator receiving dozens of parcels a week notices which brands took care, and that impression shapes whether they talk about the product at all.

Not every box needs to be lavish. A clever structure, a well-chosen colour and one thoughtful detail often make a stronger impression than an expensive box crammed with filler. Creators respond to packaging that feels personal and intentional.

Choosing the Right Structure

Printed mailer boxes are the most common format. They are strong enough to post without an outer box, open with a satisfying lift and offer a full printed inside lid for a message or graphic. They suit most beauty and lifestyle send-outs.

Rigid boxes with magnetic flaps or lift-off lids feel more luxurious and are often kept by creators for storage, which keeps the brand visible in their home. These usually travel inside a plain shipping carton to protect the finish.

More theatrical formats include drawer boxes, boxes that open from the centre like doors, and pop-up structures that rise when the lid is lifted. These need careful design but create memorable reveals.

Postage is part of the decision. A heavy rigid box inside an outer carton costs more to send than a light mailer, and across a long creator list that difference adds up. Many brands pick the mailer for the wider list and save rigid boxes for a small inner circle.

Designing the Reveal

Think about the sequence. What does the creator see first when the lid opens? Usually a printed message or a layer of tissue, then the hero product in the centre, then supporting items around it. Arranging products in order of importance keeps the story clear on camera.

Custom inserts hold each product in place so nothing shifts in transit and the layout looks exactly as planned. Foam, card and moulded pulp inserts can be cut to the shape of bottles, compacts, garments and accessories.

Shred, crinkle paper and branded tissue add texture and colour. A personal card, ideally addressed to the creator by name, makes the package feel considered rather than mass-produced.

Test the reveal before you commit. Pack a sample, film yourself opening it on a phone and watch it back. Gaps, awkward lifts or a product hidden under tissue show up immediately, and they are simple to fix at proof stage. Lift-out platforms and reveal layers are drawn up as on the display mailer boxes with reveal panels.

Printing Inside and Out

The outside of the box is seen in the first seconds of a video, so a strong, recognisable design matters. Some brands keep the outside quiet and save the colour and messaging for the inside, which creates a surprise when the lid opens.

Printing inside the lid and on the base under the insert is a powerful way to add messages, campaign hashtags or a QR code linking to the product launch. Foil, spot gloss and embossing look particularly good on camera, catching the light as the box moves.

Personalisation is possible too. Variable printing can add each creator's name to the outside or inside of the box, or to an accompanying card.

Shoot the box from above under soft light during the proof stage to see how colours read on a phone screen. Some shades, especially deep reds and bright neons, can look different on camera than in hand, and it is better to discover that before printing. Colours that shift on camera are discussed in the print and finish options guide.

Planning a Campaign

Influencer send-outs are usually tied to a launch date, so timing matters. Work backwards from when you want content to go live, allowing time for proofs, production, packing and posting.

Decide how many tiers you need. Many brands send a larger, more elaborate box to key creators and a simpler version to a wider list, using the same design language for both.

Plan the packing too. Will your team pack in-house, or will a fulfilment partner handle it? Make sure the box and insert are simple enough to pack consistently.

Keep a simple record of who received which box and when. Matching content that appears online to the send-out list helps you judge which creators and which box tier delivered the best results for the next campaign. A second tier of lighter boxes for a wider list often uses the product display boxes for retail format.

Who Sends Influencer Boxes

Beauty and skincare brands are the biggest users, launching new products to creators and editors. Fashion labels send capsule collections and accessories. Food and drink brands send tasting kits. Tech and gadget brands, fitness companies and homeware brands all use PR boxes to reach new audiences.

PR agencies order influencer boxes on behalf of clients, often managing several campaigns at once.

Brands also send influencer boxes to retail buyers, stockists and journalists, not just creators. A beautifully presented package on a buyer desk can open doors that a sample in a jiffy bag never would.

Start-ups use PR boxes to build early buzz before a product is widely available, while established brands use them to refresh their image with a new audience or relaunch a hero product with fresh packaging. Pop-up elements that add a moment of theatre are covered on the pop-up display boxes with header cards page.

Work Back From the Launch Date

PR boxes have a deadline that other packaging does not: the day the creators post. Count back from that date. Allow a week for the boxes to be filled and couriered to creators, 2 to 3 working days for free tracked delivery to you, 4 to 7 working days of production after you approve the proof, and a few days for the proof itself. That puts the order at least four weeks ahead of the posting date, and five is comfortable if the insert needs a sample round. Tell us the launch date when you enquire and we plan the proofing around it.

Send the product list, the structure you want and the quantity, and a custom quote comes by email within one working day with low minimums quoted per job, so a small brand can send a short run. The free proof shows the box, the insert and every printed surface. Boxes that arrive damaged or misprinted are reprinted or refunded if reported within 10 days. For creators who will keep the box on a shelf, the rigid clamshell boxes with magnetic closure are the usual upgrade.

Influencer Boxes Questions

What buyers ask before ordering influencer boxes.

Mailer box or rigid box for influencers?

Mailer boxes are practical and can be posted directly. Rigid boxes feel more luxurious and are often kept by creators, but usually need an outer carton.

How do I make the unboxing look good on camera?

Plan the reveal order, use fitted inserts, add tissue or shred and print inside the lid. Foil and spot gloss catch the light nicely in videos.

Can each box show the creator's name?

Yes. Variable printing can add individual names to the box or card.

Can I send different tiers of boxes?

Yes. Many brands send an elaborate box to key creators and a simpler version to a wider list, using the same design.

What inserts work best?

Foam, card or moulded pulp inserts cut to your products hold them securely and keep the layout neat.

What should be printed inside a PR box lid for an unboxing video?

The campaign hashtag, your handle and a short line of copy, large enough to read on a phone screen when the lid is tilted to the camera. A QR code to a landing page works for journalists, and all of it sits on the proof so the reveal is checked before printing.

How far ahead should I plan?

Work back from your launch date, allowing for proofs, 4 to 7 working days of production and 2 to 3 working days of free tracked delivery, plus packing and posting.

Can a PR agency order for several clients?

Yes. We can handle multiple designs and campaigns.

Can a small brand order a short run?

Yes. A short run for a handful of key creators is welcome, and the minimum for your design is set in the quote rather than fixed in advance.

Do mailer boxes need an outer box?

Corrugated mailers are strong enough to post on their own. Rigid boxes usually travel inside a shipping carton.

What if a PR box arrives dented before we pack it?

Photograph it and let us know within 10 days of delivery. Dented or misprinted boxes are reprinted or refunded, so your send-out is not short.
