For online sales, the gift box travels inside a shipping carton, so keep it compact. For retail, consider shelf space; a slimmer box that stands upright can take less room than a wide flat one.

Weigh the finished set as well. Glass adds up quickly, and a rigid box holding four bottles and a candle may tip into a higher postage band if the outer carton is oversized.
