Custom Shoe Display Boxes
Custom shoe display boxes let shoppers see the shoe without lifting a lid, so a trainer, sandal or child's first shoe can sell itself from the shelf. We make window boxes, open-front boxes and clear-lid boxes printed with your brand, sized to the pair or the single display shoe.

The Case for Showing the Shoe
Most shoe boxes are closed cartons stacked in a stockroom, and the shopper only sees what is inside once a member of staff has fetched the right size. That works in a traditional shop with one sample of each shoe on a wall. It works less well at a pop-up, a market stall, a trade show or a small boutique where there is no stockroom and the boxes themselves have to do the displaying.
A display box solves that by putting the shoe on view. Shoppers can compare colours and styles at a glance, pick up the box they like and buy it without asking. Stock stays protected from dust and handling, and the shelf looks full and organised rather than covered in loose shoes.
Display boxes also help with special editions and collectables. Trainer collectors often keep shoes in their boxes, and a box that shows the shoe while protecting it turns a shelf at home into a display wall.
Window, Open Front or Clear Lid
A window box has a die-cut opening in the lid or the side, backed with clear film, so the shoe is visible while the box stays closed. It is the best all-rounder: the shoe stays clean, the box stacks normally and there is plenty of board left for branding.
An open-front box has one end or side left open, sometimes with a low lip, so the toe of the shoe faces out from a shelf like a book spine. It is popular in sports shops and children's shoe ranges where shoppers want to touch the material. A clear-lid box uses a full transparent lid over a printed base, giving the most complete view and suiting premium or collectable shoes.
- Lid window for top-down viewing in stacks
- Side or end window for shelf display
- Open-front tray for touch-and-feel ranges
- Clear full lid over a printed base
- Single-shoe display box for showroom samples

Sizing Custom Shoe Display Boxes
Shoe boxes are sized to the pair as it is packed: usually side by side, heel to toe, with tissue between. Measure the longest shoe in the size range you will box, the combined width of the pair as packed, and the height at the tallest point, such as the ankle collar or a heel. Boots need far more height than trainers, and high heels need extra length because they cannot be nested as closely.
Many brands use two or three box sizes across their size range, for example one for children's sizes, one for smaller adult sizes and one for larger adult sizes. Keeping the window in the same place on every box makes a shelf look orderly even when the boxes differ in length.
Single-shoe display boxes, used for showroom samples or trade stands, only need to fit one shoe, often angled so the side profile faces the viewer. We can add an insert that holds the shoe at that angle.
Board Strength for Stacking
Shoe boxes are stacked high, and a window weakens the panel it is cut from. To keep stacks straight, we use a stiffer board and leave enough material around the window. For heavy boots or tall stacks in a stockroom, E-flute corrugated board is the safer choice, while premium trainers and fashion shoes often use folding boxboard or a rigid two-piece box for a crisp finish.
Window film should be clear and stiff enough to stay flat. If the boxes will be handled often, ask for a thicker film that resists denting from fingers pressing in to look closer.
Think about where the boxes live between delivery and sale. Shops with a damp stockroom or boxes stored near a door may want a board with a light coating to keep its shape. Boxes that travel to events in the back of a van benefit from corrugated board, which survives being loaded and unloaded far better than thin card. A carry handle cut into the end panel helps customers at markets take the box away without a bag.
Branding Around a Window
With a window in the lid, the shoe becomes part of your design. Frame it rather than competing with it: a solid colour or a simple pattern around the window, your logo above or below, and the shoe name and size on the end panel where it can be read in a stack. Keep the end panel layout the same across your range so staff and customers can find sizes quickly.
Inside printing is effective on display boxes because shoppers can see part of the interior through the window. A coloured or patterned interior frames the shoe and makes it stand out from the brown boxes around it. Tissue paper printed with your logo finishes the look.
If you sell the same shoe in several colourways, a consistent box with the colour name printed on the end lets the shoe itself provide the variety. Shoppers scanning a wall of identical boxes with different coloured shoes behind each window get an instant sense of the range, which often encourages them to pick up a second pair.
Who Uses Shoe Display Packaging
Typical customers include independent footwear brands, children's shoe shops, sports and running shops, trainer customisers and resellers, slipper and sandal makers, and handmade shoe makers selling at craft fairs. Wedding shoe designers use clear-lid boxes so brides can see the detail before opening. Footwear distributors order them for trade shows, where a wall of display boxes makes a stand easy to browse.
Online-only brands sometimes use a window box as the inner box inside a shipping carton, because it gives the customer a strong first view of the shoe at unboxing.
Resellers who list shoes online also find window boxes useful for photography, because a single shot shows the shoe and the brand at once.

Shoe Display Boxes Questions
What buyers ask before ordering shoe display boxes.
Will a window weaken the shoe box in a stack?
A window does reduce panel strength, so we use a stiffer board and leave a solid frame around the opening. For tall stacks or heavy boots, E-flute corrugated board keeps the stack straight.
Where should the window go on a shoe box?
A lid window suits boxes viewed from above, such as on tables. A side or end window suits boxes on shelves, where shoppers see one face of the box.
Can collectors keep shoes in these boxes?
Yes, clear-lid and window boxes are popular with trainer collectors because they protect the shoe while keeping it on view.
How many box sizes do I need for a shoe range?
Usually two or three, grouped by size bands. Keep the window position the same across all of them so a mixed shelf still looks tidy.
Can the box hold a single shoe at an angle?
Yes, a single-shoe display box with an angled insert shows the side profile, which suits showrooms and trade stands.
What film is used in the window?
A clear, stiff film glued behind the die-cut opening. Ask for a thicker film if the boxes will be handled a lot in a shop.
Can you print the inside of the box?
Yes, and on display boxes it shows through the window. A coloured interior frames the shoe and lifts it on the shelf.
Are open-front boxes good for children's shoes?
They suit children's ranges well because parents can feel the material and check the sole without opening anything.
Can I add a size label panel to the end?
Yes, we can print a blank size panel or a size grid on the end, so you mark the size by hand or with a sticker as you pack.
Do display boxes arrive assembled?
They are delivered flat to save space and are quick to fold. Rigid two-piece boxes are the exception and are supplied made up.
What do I need to send for a quote?
Your shoe measurements as packed, the window or opening style, and the quantity for each box size. Your custom quote arrives by email the next working day at the latest.
