from £0.25 a conePriced per job · low minimums

Custom crêpe cones are paper holders shaped to grip a crêpe folded into a triangle or rolled into a cone, so customers can walk and eat without sticky fingers. We print them with your brand and size them to the way you fold.

From Pan to Hand in Seconds

Street crêpes are made to be eaten on the move. The batter goes on the plate, the filling goes in, the crêpe is folded and handed over, all in a couple of minutes while a queue builds behind. A paper plate slows everything down and is awkward to hold while walking. A cone fits the shape of a folded crêpe, holds it upright, and leaves the top open for the first bite. It is quicker for the person behind the counter and easier for the customer.

The cone also catches what a crêpe inevitably drips: melted chocolate spread, lemon juice and sugar, warm fruit or the cheese from a savoury galette. A cone with the right paper and coating keeps that inside and away from hands and clothes.

There is also a practical benefit behind the counter. Cones nest or stack flat, so a sleeve of them sits beside the plate and the person folding can grab one with a free hand. Compare that with plates, napkins and cutlery, which take space, cost more per serve and end up in the bin half used. For a small van where every shelf is spoken for, that difference is noticeable on a busy day. Many customers order these alongside our paper cone cups, printed in the same colours.

Matching the Cone to Your Fold

There is no single crêpe shape, so there is no single crêpe cone. How you fold decides which cone works. Counters that fill cones in advance usually stand them in printed cone holders for the counter while customers pay.

  • Quarter fold triangle: a wide, open-fronted cone that holds the triangle point down, the classic French street style
  • Rolled cone crêpe: a narrow, deeper cone that wraps most of the crêpe and suits ice cream or fruit fillings
  • Half-moon fold: a pocket-style holder open along the curved edge, good for savoury galettes
  • Japanese-style rolled crêpe: a tall cone with a wider mouth for cream, fruit and toppings that sit above the rim

Sizing Custom Crêpe Cones

Pan diameter is the place to start. A 350 mm plate gives a much larger folded crêpe than a 300 mm one, and a cone that is fine for one will either swallow or squeeze the other. Make a crêpe the way you normally serve it, fill it, fold it and measure the height from point to top edge and the width across the widest part. We size the cone so it covers roughly half to two thirds of the crêpe, which is enough to hold it securely while leaving plenty to eat before the paper gets in the way.

If you serve a small kids' crêpe or a sample size at events, it is worth a second, smaller cone rather than using a large one half empty. A loose crêpe tips sideways and loses its filling. Our guide to measuring food for packaging covers the same approach for other shapes.

Paper, Coatings and Grip

Crêpe cones are usually made from a sturdy paper or light card. A greaseproof or coated inner surface stops butter and chocolate spread soaking through to the outside, so the print stays clean and the cone stays firm for the walk to a bench. Heavier stock feels more substantial in the hand and holds its shape better for well-filled crêpes; lighter stock is cheaper and folds flatter for storage in a small van.

Food-contact grade paper and board are available on request for cones that touch the crêpe directly. Kraft paper gives a rustic market look; white paper prints bright colours and suits branded crêperies and dessert bars.

Storage is worth a thought as well. Paper cones kept in a warm van next to the hotplate can pick up moisture and lose their crispness, so keep the spare cartons in a cool, dry corner and bring out only what you expect to use in the next hour or two. The paper and coating options page explains the grease-resistant layer in more detail.

Printing a Cone That Gets Noticed

A crêpe cone is in the customer's hand for as long as it takes to eat, often while walking through a market or a festival crowd. That makes it a moving advert. A bold logo, your social handle and a simple pattern repeated around the cone are enough. One or two colours on kraft look handsome and keep costs low; full colour on white paper allows illustrations and brighter brand colours.

Keep important artwork away from the top edge and the point, which are where hands and fillings go. Your free design proof shows the flat shape with fold and glue lines so you can see how the print wraps around the cone.

If you trade under more than one name, perhaps a crêpe van and a separate waffle stand, you can order two artworks in one run. Each version gets its own proof, and sharing the same cone size keeps the price per cone close to a single larger order. Wedding caterers sometimes pair the cones with printed confetti cones in the same design for the ceremony.

Who Buys Crêpe Cones

Our crêpe cones go to crêperies with a takeaway hatch, street food vans and market stalls, dessert bars and parlours, event caterers serving at weddings and festivals, and cafés that add crêpes to their menu at weekends. Party hire companies that bring a crêpe station to private events order them printed with their own brand, and occasionally with a couple's names for a wedding.

Ice cream parlours that sell crêpes with a scoop inside find a narrower, deeper cone works better than a wide triangle holder, because the ice cream sits lower and stays put as it softens.

Pop-up dessert stalls at sports grounds, school fairs and shopping centre events also use them, usually ordering a modest quantity first to see how fast they go before committing to a larger run for the rest of the trading calendar. The rest of the cups, cones and ice cream packaging covers tubs and spoons those stalls order alongside.

Fold a Crêpe, Fill It, Then Measure

Size the cone at the hotplate, not at a desk. Make a crêpe on your usual pan, fill it the way you sell it, fold it, and measure from the point to the top edge and across the widest part. Send those two figures with the fold style and we cut the cone to cover roughly half to two thirds of it. A 350 mm pan and a 300 mm pan give different cones, so if you run both, say so, and add a smaller cone for a kids' size rather than letting a small crêpe slump in a big holder.

Keep the logo away from the point and the top edge. A custom quote comes back by email within one working day with cones from £0.25 and minimums quoted per job. The free proof shows the flat shape with the glue line. Production takes 4–7 working days after approval and the cones arrive flat or nested with free tracked delivery to UK mainland addresses in 2–3 working days. Misprinted or damaged cones reported within 10 days are reprinted or refunded. Stalls selling chips too often add kraft paper cones for chips and sweets to the same run.

Crêpe Cones Questions

What buyers ask before ordering crêpe cones.

Which cone suits a quarter-folded crêpe?

An open-front triangle cone. It holds the point of the triangle and leaves the wide end open for eating. Send the folded size and we size it to cover about half the crêpe.

Will chocolate spread leak through the paper?

Not with a greaseproof or coated inner layer. We recommend one for sweet crêpes with spreads and for savoury galettes with melted cheese.

Can I use the same cone for sweet and savoury crêpes?

Often yes, if both are folded the same way. If you fold galettes into a half-moon, a separate pocket holder will hold them better.

How do I measure for a crêpe cone?

Make and fold a crêpe as you serve it, then measure the height from point to top and the width at the widest part. Your pan size is useful to know too.

Can the cones hold ice cream inside a crêpe?

Yes. A narrower, deeper rolled cone keeps the scoop low and stable. Coated paper helps as the ice cream softens.

Can I print my logo all the way around the cone?

Yes. We print the flat shape and show on the proof how the design wraps once glued. Keep key details away from the top edge and point.

Do you make a stand for the counter?

We can quote cone holders that keep filled crêpes upright on the counter while customers pay. Ask with your cone order.

Is kraft or white paper better for crêpe cones?

Kraft looks rustic and suits markets and vans. White paper prints brighter colours for branded crêperies and dessert bars.

Can I order cones for a one-off wedding or event?

Yes. Minimums are quoted per job, so a short run for a single event is fine. Allow time for the proof and production before the date.

How long before I can serve in my own printed cones?

Production is 4–7 working days after you approve the free proof, then 2–3 working days for free tracked UK mainland delivery. Order about three weeks before a festival so a proof change does not cut it fine.

Can I get a smaller size for children's crêpes?

Yes. A smaller cone keeps a kids' crêpe upright instead of letting it slump in a big holder. We can quote both sizes with the same artwork.
